Hey all, I'm currently using an Oppo Find 5. I bought it while in the United States for a few months. I've just returned home to Canada now, and I seem to be unable to receive any data on the Wind network. I was able to get on the network itself, make and receive calls/texts but I don't seem to have any data activity. Does anyone have any idea on what I could do to resolve this? I went in to Settings and enabled 3G and Data, but that didn't seem to do anything.
Any advice would be very welcome!
Thank you so much from a long time lurker first time poster.
You need to find your apn settings for the carrier and place them on the phone.

Thank you! I went to the wind store and even asked if I'd need to change the APN settings, and they said no. After seeing this post, I found an explanation on what the settings are from Wind.
I really appreciate this, thank you so much!

I live overseas and about a month ago while visiting Florida I purchased a Tmobile Vibrant. I then went ahead and unlocked the phone myself. Upon returning to my country I started using my phone, everything had been running great up until today when I went and added internet to my phone plan. My phone simply refuses to connect to the internet and my provider says that all the settings are in the phone. Has t-mobile done something that would prevent me from connecting?
I really don't know what to do here. Anyone encounter problems like this before? Any solutions?
First go through these steps yourself then post back
1. Goto settings, wireless networks, access point names, make sure the apn is epc.tmobile.com
2. Call t-mobile and make sure you have the android data plan
3. Make sure you are in a good reception area
4. Make sure you have wifi off

Set the APN to your carrier

Thanks for the replies. I did the APN thing already, in my country the APN must be set as "Internet", which I already put there... no luck.
Are there any other settings?
Ok great, it finally came on... they probably didn't activate it immediately.
Thanks for the suggestions.
It normally takes 2 to 24 hours to activate data. Glad youre running now

i'm using 3 in australia, i got 3g signal but i can access the internet using my data connection. the phone said "no radio". does anyone know why and is there anyway to update the radio firmware?
I'm with Vodafone in Australia and have no problems with internet whatsoever... I had to play around a bit with the apn settings though to make it work; you might consider calling up 3's customer service for assistance. I'd recommend you ask for the settings of several/all WP mobiles they have on offer, one of those settings will surely work

thanks for your advise. btw could you show me how you config your apn?
Go to
'Settings' -> 'Celluar' -> 'edit apn'
Here you have to enter your provider access point name (apn);
I'm not sure, maybe this site will help you?
Doh! I just realised I can't post any links until I don't get more posts
Just type 'apn australia 3' into Google, I'm sure you will find heaps of results...
If not, as I said before, best check with 3's customer service, they will certainly be able to help you...
First off, yes, I am a noob, and I love the video you guys have to welcome us noobs to the forum
Second, I understand COMPLETELY that the G2 on AT&T does NOT support 3G.
Third I understand it DOES support edge (or 2G from the iPhone world as that is where I come from)
Now, Even though I have full signal in edge, but NO wifi, I cannot load a web page in the browser. In fact, I cannot connect to the internet whatsoever. I can send texts and make phone calls, but no internet. Is there some hack that I need to do to enable it? Could it be because I'm using a micro sim for an iPhone 4?
Thanks!
You need to edit the APN settings for AT&T.
I don't know what they are offhand
True, you need to manually enter the APN settings for the phone to work on AT&T's data network. The APN is found under Settings>Wireless & networks>Mobile networks>Access point names
The proper settings are here:
http://android.modaco.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=309124&view=findpost&p=1281824
However, this does not explain why WiFi does not work. Not sure what's going on there.
Heh such a simple answer. I was trying to figure it out for 3 hours straight. Thanks guys, this forum's the best already
Now for some rooting heh

Welcome to the forums. You made a good choice for your first Android phone. The G2 has it all, including massive developer support.
Thanks for the APN. Editting this would only make Edge work?

In the case of the G2 on AT&T, yes. The G2 does not have the correct radio hardware to be compatible with AT&T's network. But if the correct hardware is present, the APN info allows you to connect to EDGE and 3G for your particular network.

Hi all,
I have a Nexus 4 on T-mobile in the US.
Recently (a month ago?) i used the NRT to unlock and root the phone, no custom recovery/kernel/ROM or anything like that - still on stock 4.2.2
This week i traveled to China and my phone is unable to register on China Mobile (roaming) - however, I was here about a month ago and it had no problems at all.
Any suggestions? APN and everything look OK - the phone worked fine in the states for weeks before I left.
If i go into the settings and mess around with the 'mobile networks' i can get it to see "CHINA MOBILE" if i let it scan, but it won't connect to it.
Performed a factory reset on the phone, didn't change the situation.
this is a tough problem for me to search threads on, since most of the similar threads i find are people that can't connect to -any- networks, even their home network, which I have no problem with.
Keep in mind i don't care about data at all, i just want to be able to send/receive roaming calls
Thanks!
Hey everyone and thanks for taking the time to read this,
So the story goes as so: After doing some research couple months ago about the capability of the Verizon Galaxy S3 to work on T-mobile, i purchased it, and got it to successfully work on T-mobile(texts, calls, wi-fi). The problem is, i just recently upgraded to include a data plan, and i cannot access the internet, despite taking my phone to my cell phone dealer and contacting T-mobile.T-mobile even sent me a guide to do a mastery reset to factory in hopes to solve this problem, only to tell me afterwards that the phone version SCH-I535 is a "verizon locked-software" and i won't be able to set up an APN to work on the T-mobile network. This was all due to the fact that i was not able to set up a APN for T-mobile, and every time i tried to access it through setting, it brought me to a blank black page with the only option of "Reset to Default". After reading other forums and talking with some people, many have suggested i take this issue to XDA to find a solution.
So, here i am.....Does anyone know if it is possible for me to break/root/ or whatever it is called so i can successfully access the t-mobile network on my phone? Preferably an easier guide since i am sort of a newbie at this sort of stuff.
Thanks again for reading.
