Now that the AT&T Galaxy S3 is rooted:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1726960
My favorite thing to do after a first root is to use Titanium Backup to delete all the bloatware. Here's the list of stuff I took off:
AT&T Messages
AT&T Navigator
ChatOn
DeviceHelp
Flipboard
Media Hub
Music Player
My Files
My AT&T
S Memo
S Suggest
Play Books
Play Movies
Yahoo Finance
Yahoo News
YP Mobile
My list is just from a quick glance. If anyone else knows of other bloatware items that can be safely removed please post and add them.
Flipboard will stay on mine. Love that app.

I agree. I would remove the entire list above except for Flipboard. If you set it up to just the things you're interested in, it works really well.
Can't you just disable it. Doesnt it do the same thing as removing it or freezing?

Settings/application manager/all then just choose the one you want to disable and click "disable" at the top. If it updated itself, click "uninstall updates" first, then "disable" will be available
First run around, give it time u will learn everything. Dont rush, read and understand the language spoken, the software and its uses.

With an att phone, u return it to att, not samsung. All newer Samsung phones have a flash counter that logs every time its been modified software wise so if it's been rooted, they can tell, the warranty is void, and if something is legitimately wrong with it, you get ****. In fact, you will still be on the hook for your contract so either cough up 550$ for a new phone or $350 to back out of the contract. Maybe they will catch it, maybe not but that's a pretty expensive gamble to take

Can someone clarify something for me? On my other rooted devices if you deleted bloat then you couldn't get OTA updates to either download or install. Is this the case with Samsung devices? I usually just freeze with Titanium and restore when an update rolls out.

There is no reason to delete with these phones anymore. Freezing is perfectly fine and achieves the same thing. Ota will probably work the same so better safe than sorry lol.

I have warrantied numerous phones to AT&T that were rooted.. I have NEVER had one denied or been charged.. That's not to say it can't or won't happen because I know they can but I have never seen or heard of anyone getting denied...
IMHO, disabling via the hone system is the better option simply because the disable sticks on reboot... I however still need root because I for one can't live without AdFree...
Here is my list. Keep in mind that I use my market-purchased apps for texting, phone/contacts, calendar and a few other things.

The flash counter was implemented on samsung phones since the tab so it's very new and AFAIK, only samsung does it. Up to now, someone who knew what they were doing would have to make a determination if the phones software was tampered with, this system does not need anyone to make that determination. It will be no different than the moisture sensor...

There is a flash counter on the SGS2 as well and Chainfire was able to figure out a way to reset it (Triangle Away app). I'm sure it will be possible with this phone too eventually.
According to the comments, it works on the international S3 already.

I never understood why WA is an paid app if in the browser it is free...
I'm not sure how relevant this info is, but both file size and publisher differ between Pay and SamsungApps versions.
Sound cool! Unlike the Play Store, it has no user review under the Samsung App Store, can I trust that this app is the same as the one in Play Store and that it has no malware, virust, torjan, etc.?
Does Samsung impose strict quality control before putting the apps in the Samsung App Store?
Apparently, Samsung app store has hosted an old version 1.04 if I am right.

Google play offers to update it for a price. You dont have to.
I think it's free, due to Samsung using it in conjunction with the S-NOTE
Just tried to download it. Got a message saying that for security reason, download from sites besides the Play Store is blocked. Then, the phone asks me to agree that I am the one responsible if my data are leaked. For some reason, the phone also wants to upgrade my Samsung account. Is it ok to accept?

On the Play Store, the author is "Wolfram Alpha, LLC". How come on the Samsung App Store, the author is "Dinh Nho Hao"?
When I clicked "Get", Samsung update was activated. Then, there is a window "Complete action using" with two options: 1. Package Installer 2. Scan with Lookout before Install. I chose option 2 as I don't know what option 1 is. Next, there is a new window "Install blocked" "For security, your phone is set to block installation of applications not obtained from Android Market". I chose Settings.
Shall I check "Unknown sources" to allow installation of non-Market applications?
Hitting the button leads to an Attention window saying "Your phone and personal data are more vulnerable to attck by applications from unknown sources. You agree that you are solely responsible for any damage to your phone or loss of data that may result from using these applications." As a new Android user, this is a bit scary.
That depends on whether you trust SamsungApps. Just as with the Play store.
The thing about the differing authors worries me more. Especially as SamsungApps does not reveal permissions before install.

I really like how Sprint installs the vast majority of a device's bloatware after you set up the device. It means you can simply uninstall it and it's actually gone. It's not just disabled or frozen. I understand the business reasons behind bloatware and of course I'd prefer it not be there at all. That said, since it isn't going away, I wish all carriers would adopt Sprint's method rather than cluttering up the system partition with it. Thoughts?
Sent from my Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk
Agreed. I've been with them awhile now and they are really easing up on it recently.
I guess this helps them get the product out faster since they don't need to bake these programs in the ROM anymore.
The most recent update I received (I've had like 3 of them already) pushed the additional bloatware, but when I try to uninstall it, it doesn't give the option. Can't wait until we can root this thing.

We can, the T Mob version works, but I would proceed with caution afterwards since we don't have a ROM image to flash if things go south.
I've just been tweaking stuff... Until I can actually remove it and not worry.
I was able to uninstall everything except Lookout, Sprint ID, and Sprint Zone. We are talking about all the extra apps installed by Sprint. This doesn't apply to the additional Samsung apps.

It does break system updates but we'll have downloadable roms soon enough.

Just the same as carrier branding on sprints phones... there is little to none. I like it that way. I dont go walking down the street, see someone with a huge wart of a verizon logo on the phone and say to myself, "im getting Verizon". Its rediculous that carriers have to put their big old stamp on otherwise beutiful hardware. Same goes for software. I dont see the point in 20 apps that simply take you to the carriers website. Sprint has its share of bloat but its not nearly as bad as others.
Agreed. When it comes to bloatware, AT&T is by far the worst. I owned their Galaxy S5 and there were 17 apps that were specifically installed by AT&T. They even preinstall an app called ReadyToGo which replaces the standard welcome/setup screen (when you turn the device on for the first time) with one that's got AT&T's brand all over it. That's just obscene.
Sent from my Galaxy Note 4 using Tapatalk
I'm shocked at the lack of "bloat" on this phone. Almost all the Sprint apps are easily uninstalled, but what gets me is the lack of Samsung apps. First time ever I don't have a Samsung folder full of their apps. I actually opened Galaxy App and installed a few just to see whats going on..........

Don't be a jerk. I understand this issue may be frustrating you but don't allow that frustration to cause you to be rude to those trying to help you. I've actually got both my Samsung Wireless Ear Buds and my Frontier watch synced and connected to my 6T. During the process I was actually led to the pages to install what I needed. I'm between classes right now. Let me get home later this afternoon and walk you through it. I can PM you or just post it here in case anyone else needs to see the info.
Here's the deal:
I've got a Samsung Gear S3. For the messages app to appear on my watch, I normally need a Samsung phone to pair with, otherwise, the app won't appear, and you can only deal with messages only when receiving one, which is a limited and limiting functionality. The only way I could have it work is possibly by getting a Samsung Messages app, which can only be functional if ported for the OnePlus 6T. If there's anyone who can do such a thing and help me out, I would really appreciate it. Otherwise it's fine. Just thought I'd ask.
Thank you,
Savz
Just go into your S3 and pull the app, then side load it on the 6t, but I'm pretty sure you are going to need more than just the app

The app is hidden on my Gear S3. To become visible, I guess it must detect the Samsung messages app on my 6T, which is the reason I want a port for the 6T.
Mine is working fine with Google messages... Also using Gear S3.
EDIT: Nevermind... I misread your post. Yeah, no creating texts on the watch.
