i have bought this LG device model and because of its low free memory space for installing apps (2gig) i want to root it and then move my apps to the new SD card i purchased for my device.
does anyone know a method to root my device???
i want a way that if i root it ,after a while, if necessary i could unroot it again for its warranty!
No one knows?!!!!

It is a good device.
I have it since last week,it didn't have any lag till now.the problem with it is that has low memory in hand for apps or others.its gaming performance is good but I can't run HD games to test because my country has been banned by Google and this kind of games need to be checked with their licenses.
If you expect this device to do what xperia s or others do,I recommend you not to buy this device.
I was run antutu benchmark app and it gave me the number of 6612 for my device.
Totally it is good for me.

You must check the version of your ROM and then look for special file with the root in the internet, also at this forum. Then you will have to connect your phone and depending of the root it will do it itself or there will be instruction how to do that. Remember to install USb Drivers and to enable debuging profile in options.
You can download USB Drivers at the official LG site.

lol....
No it couldn't... All he'd need to do is get a kernel from the Hero setion if so but you'd think he'd notice if he went to the wrong device forum And it'd just make a bootloop even if he did Otherwise everything else is the same....
There will be no bricking of my device anytime soon...lol for some reason the kernals have been hard to find for me but I will try the info you guys gave me!! Thanks

In order to install roms you have to install magldr and flash the rom.
You need to root your current (I assume stock?) rom only if you're going to go with it.
See the post in my sig for more details.

What's the benefit of flashing any custom ROM? It's not different for WP7 than any other OS.
Unlocking the phone -> you can sideload apps/games
There is no rooting for WP7, there is interop unlock.
Flashing roms -> customize the OS and unlock included (custom ones)

Welcome to the community
Sideloading means installing application/games on the phone, once you have the binaries (XAPs). Similar to installing APK files on Android.
I'm getting you have a Focus Flash i667. Just FYI there is only unlock but no custom rom for Samsung 2nd generation phones, not yet. I initially assumed you have a Samsung Focus i917 since you didn't specify in your first post.
Do not try any stuff on 2nd generation WP7 yet (e.g. roms) unless they're designed for it. For example, flashing a custom i917 ROM on your i667 will brick it.
If it's a bit confusing it's because both phones are Focus, but one is i917 (the original Focus) and the other one is i667 (Flash). There is no dedicated i667 Focus Flash forum...

Hey, that happened to me also and here's what i did.
First of all, I erased all of the apps that came with the phone (Company's app. E.G Telcel, claro,AT&T,etc).
Once i did that, i downloaded a different launcher (Go launcher EX, it's free), cuz' the one that comes with the phone simply doesn't work!.
When you do that, you can have almost 200Mb Free in RAM, so it takes away a lot of work from your device.
What i'm trying to do right now is to swap the RAM memory to the Sd card.
Hope it works!
Dont u think that changing ram to use sdcard will lower the performance? Considering higher io time?

Απ: [Q]How to tweak Performance P705
Try to find a good ROM which is tweaked properly.. If you cannot do it by your own.
Just wondering if Ubuntu Touch can be installed on L7, given the fact that a ROM for L9 is available?
I understand that it has to be tested to know if its possible. But is it worth testing anyway bearing that L9 and L7 are two different makes?
Nope, you can't. It needs a lot of work to run it even with same chipset (I tried Ubuntu Touch for Huawei phone which have MSM7x27a, but it didn't work either). It's not worth the time and the risk too.
Can anyone pste the link from where i can get ubuntu touch for LG Optimus L9
