Hello everybody, I am trying to root my LG Optimus L3 (E400) with no luck so far.
Tried couple of apps (z4root and gingerbreak) but nothing happens.
I can't seem to find any related threads about this device.Any help would be highly appreciated.

hello, i have wifi connection problem with my Lg e400 v10d rom, all 2min on off on off wifi, it works not stable. wifi bug or hardware ? please tested!

I also tried to root with z4root and GingerBreak, and same as OP I had no success.
I tried this guide to manually rooting it hxxp://erodov.com/forums/how-root-any-android-device-manually/43325-page2.html I set the phone into download mode (it said "emergency mode"), at this point, Nautilus in Ubuntu didn't recognize my phone, and I wasn't able to continue rooting. Any methods for manually rooting 2.3.6?

Hey, that happened to me also and here's what i did.
First of all, I erased all of the apps that came with the phone (Company's app. E.G Telcel,claro,AT&T,etc).
Once i did that, i downloaded a different launcher (Go launcher EX, it's free), cuz' the one that comes with the phone simply doesn't work!.
When you do that, you can have almost 200Mb Free in RAM, so it takes away a lot of work from your device.
What i'm trying to do right now is to swap the RAM memory to the Sd card.
Hope it works!
Dont u think that changing ram to use sdcard will lower the performance? Considering higher io time?

i have bought this LG device model and because of its low free memory space for installing apps (2gig) i want to root it and then move my apps to the new SD card i purchased for my device.
does anyone know a method to root my device???
i want a way that if i root it ,after a while, if necessary i could unroot it again for its warranty!

It is a good device.
I have it since last week,it didn't have any lag till now.the problem with it is that has low memory in hand for apps or others.its gaming performance is good but I can't run HD games to test because my country has been banned by Google and this kind of games need to be checked with their licenses.
If you expect this device to do what xperia s or others do,I recommend you not to buy this device.
I was run antutu benchmark app and it gave me the number of 6612 for my device.
Totally it is good for me.

You must check the version of your ROM and then look for special file with the root in the internet, also at this forum. Then you will have to connect your phone and depending of the root it will do it itself or there will be instruction how to do that. Remember to install USb Drivers and to enable debuging profile in options.
You can download USB Drivers at the official LG site.

Phone is really awesome good built camera ok battery awesome.. Ya it doesn't have back light but you'll get use to it in a day... Phone is super smooth... Waiting for custom rom n root....

have you tried with hard reset?
Are you using any rom, mods etc. please give us more details
Give more details like said @theowner997, stock or custom rom, android version, apps that make the phone reboot, anything else you see can help to find a solution.

I've tried several times to SDMerge my LG L3 e400 but never make it. I had to reflash kdz file after trying it. It would be much appreciated if anyone here could give me a detailed tutorial how to SDMerge my LG L3 e400.

1.if you are in stock (2.3.6) .... root it and install rom manager app from play store
2.install the cwm 5.8.4.5 recovery for l3 from rom manager
3.download "SDMergE400_step4v1.3b" and "SDMergE400_mod_gellmar_crazybyte.zip without old step4" files from this link "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2215406"
4.Extract files from "SDMergE400_mod_gellmar_crazybyte.zip without old step4"(you will get "SDMergE400_step1.zip" and "SDMergE400_step2.zip") and put these files in sdcard and put "SDMergE400_step4v1.3b.zip" directly(dont extract files)
5.go to recovery by turning off phone and press volume down +home + power
6.format system and data and cache partitions
7.then install SDMergE400_step1.zip and phone will reboot after That install SDMergE400_step2.zip
8.then install any cm9 rom (Stock rom will not work.... except Gellmars modified stock rom )
9. after that install cm9 rom..... dont reboot to system immediately ....install SDMergE400_step4v1.3b.zip now reboot to system
10...enjoy SDMerg cm9...
