i recommend to use vengeance kernel with uhd rom. is very friendly with battery.
i use uhd 3.0 (is a beta rom. but is beta only because not use so many stuff like 3.0.2; and simple is always better)
You should try a few of the ROMs yourself, different people will have different feedback on different ROMs.

Sure i will try many combos of kernel and rom....
But it is always better to get right suggestions from seniors...

CM7 is great and what im using right now but have issues with camera in video recording...
Cm7.2 (52) is great, but not work radio fm and the default app crash on the video recording hd.
all custom roms I've tried work well, I tried:
1) arconium
2) aniking
3) mod xperia
4) Fasty
I still think that the best is the SE.TWEAKED, as a general balance, lightness and speed.
All tested with V15 DoomKernel

MIUI I miss, but even that seems to have something that does not work properly (FM radio, HDMI, and anything else I can not remember).
Which version you recommend?
arconium 5.6, perfect and fast and no bugs.

Guys, very recently i got the S2 for my bro and let me tell you that i am hard core SE fan and that is why i still want to hold the ARC with me
That said, i find the stock samsung's ROM very stable usable and fast, especially when compared to SE's stock ROM
Any comparisons/experience to S2's Stock/custom ROM with ours?
One of my classmates has a S2 and I had the stock ROM + SuperCharger V6 @ 1.4GHz on my Arc (arconium 5.6) now and I couldn't see a real difference

noticed the same by a colleague.
Which version you recommend?
use this to customize your MIUI ROM [Tool] BlendMIUI Speed-Porting Software [V04.7] [Add NEO V][Fully working Auto-Flash]
using arconium ROM by doomed151 and Advanced Stock kernel by DooMLoRD
Arconium rim works best for me hehehe

Take stock ROM, root it, de-bloat it (uninstall all the system apps you don't use), set up SuperCharger and you're good to go.
Don't be fooled, only CM7 is a real custom ROM.
All the rest fall into the category I described: rooted, bebloated stock ROMs.
Oh! And if you need extra speed and you're willing to sacrifice a few hours of battery life, unlock bootloader and flash a custom kernel.
That should do it.

Agreed. No point messing around with custom ROMs when the stock ROM only needs cleaned up a bit. Don't see the benefit in Supercharger if you have already uninstalled all the crapware as there's nothing running on the CPU to consume the battery power
I have had the LT18i since it came out and it's lightning fast and the battery life is great. Nuff said

Yes I did the same. But still Arconium is a lot faster and lag-free compared to cleaned stock with supercharger and the same overclocking. Really it's the best and fastest rom together with CM (if you like that) and I tried a lot. The only downside is you will get worse battery performance in stand-by (twice as worse; up to 3%/h)when you install a custom overclock kernel even at the same clock speeds. So first try with stock kernel and of you need more speed (like 1.4GHz) go to custom kernels.
IMO Complete custom ROM is MIUI as if now with less bugs. CM has few bugs that has to be fixed. As stated above other are just modified version of stock.
@iridaki : When can we see your T.E.A.M ROM?
arconium + doomkernel is the best of all !
miui is same as cm7 is video camera lags..

So is this a new kernel that is in "testing" and is not released yet? Because doing a search only brought up DiXperia ROM, so guessing DikeJ is working on a kernel, perhaps?
If this kernel is available can you be kind enough to post a link for it?
Edit - scratch that, the only thing I find is an X10 kernel... so going to venture DikeJ is working on porting it to our Xperia PLAY.. as I know he does work on teh X10 as well.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2345327
This says its a JB kernel, but is this a GB kernel as well?
I'm working on this kernel for DikeJ and his set of dixperia ROMs and I don't have any plans to upload it till DikeJ ask me to
edit: there will be a kernel for each android ROM DikeJ Makes this kernel is for dixperia perennial
Will the kernel work on r800x too?

Possibly since its based on Lupus Kernel I should be able to work something out
That's awesome but when it's ready and dike j says you can upload do you think you can make two versions work one of them having als disabled. My phone als is broken so unless Als is disabled at kernel level it won't work. Sorry if it's too much to ask but if you can do that I'll be very grateful

yeah I will you won't get 330 mb free ram though
Hail the King @extremetempz and @DiKeJ who are gonna build awesome Kernel + ROM for the R800x
But if you give the system, kernel etc. 420mbs of ram, there's only about 90mbs for the gpu/3d rendering(?) left. Wouldn't that cause lag in games?

The 90mb RAM is for the Kernel, not for GPU/3D Rendering - That is done using system RAM.
There will be 4 main Kernels from DXEngine:
-2 for X10 (GB and JB)
-2 for Play (GB and ICS/JB)
But it's not over, cause each main project will have other version with other destination - for example with some features disabled, but better in performance etc. etc. Justin (@extremetempz) is main Kernel Developer for my ROM projects so all credits goes to him - I focused on ROMs to make it best stable and settled with Kernels - trust me, it should do the job .

games should actually run smoother because I've doubled the vram 4mb vs 8m
Edit: if anyone can extract lupus v12 ramdisk because it keeps Chucking errors at me please pm me asap as I need to extract to put the WiFi modules in and change a few things
well i have extracted it its using another format for ramdisk(bot the normal gzip)
i dont have the link i used to know how to extract but if you search a bit you will find it
(i dont have the extracted ramdisk because i have deleted my compiler machine from virtualbox)

Would love to test out this kernel if you wanted to have someone test it out. Either way I am excited to see this new kernel whether I beta test it or not.
Thank you both of you for your hard work and efforts to keep our little device humming along.
hi guys
i want to ask about the best stable rom for daily use for s3 neo (if exist)

Stock Rom with @Sev3n kernel. Battery life's pretty good! Try it yourself
And don't forget to use Greenify, Amplify and modify the kernel with the Best settings (you can found them on a thread that I started about the most battery friendly kernel for stock ROM).

The latest version, of course.
Resurrection renix 2.1 is best. Or stockmod with seven kernel. No other
motion rom 17
Ita depent of your needs. Simply I prefer clean experience and rich ways to customize my rom, debugging and battery life -> so my choise is cm11 plus cm11 kernel. Cm 12.1 is pretty good, but with renix kernel. Just read all pages from your rom choise and make a decision.
Is there any rom that provide best performance and best battery backup?
Usually when I play game (like Pokemon Go) my phone heat up and restart itself.
I'm now on zephyrs rom

Here my preferred ROM,
THUNDER_MiUi8-6.8.18 by gkalen, you can find it here:

And use JERRICA [08/13] by premaca as Kernel:

I always prefer your ROM on my device, especialy for the MIUI 7 version, it's bugless, good battery stat, nice performance, almost fix everything.
But sadly I must say not each time I flash the MIUI 8 builds, may be it's because the source itself, battery drains, and laggy,.
Even several days ago there was an update, I don't really sure if that really stable, but will you soon make an update based on that builds,..
Keep up Devs, waiting for your next update!!

For Pokémon GO:
Use a MIUI8 KK version + Jerrika MK Premier Finale (more RAM friendly. Lollipop ROMs are heavy to 1GB RAM)
A tip: Download GLTools XDA Version, and force on Pokémon GO these options:
- Optimize GSGL shaders
- Downscale textures (0,5x)
It reduces the RAM consumption a lot without much quality difference.
PS: Dont force 16 bit textures (it breaks the detailed vision of Pokémon and dont show CP).
