Hello,
I don't know if you are talking about that but Asus France has announced that Android 4.2 will roll out in the next days for the Asus TF300TG.
If someone installs it I would be grateful if he can say if everything is OK after the update.

Go 4.2 tg rom on the tl. Lte modem driver inklusive in tg rom

Installed it OTA restored root with OTA root keeper
Everithing works smooth and fine except the calendar widget I can't synchronise with the 4.2 launcher.
I installed the "calendar agenda widget" (nicer and working)

Updated my unlocked TF300TG with second method from this thread and everything went fine. Successfully installed TWRP recovery afterwards (taken from the same thread), and flashed SuperSU update ZIP from here.
PS Stock 10.4.3.7 (WW sku) firmware and TWRP recovery was installed before update.
PPS Be careful! TWRP recovery version mentioned above was intended for TF300T. It seems to work fine on my TF300TG, but flashing it may be not such a good idea.

I did the same, except I used method 1.
I didn't flash a TWRP recovery yet though. Are you saying that the patched 2.4.4.0 for the TF300T also works on the TF300TG?
I noticed that on the official TWRP page (http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/tf300t) there are special 4.2 versions of TWRP 2.4.4.0 and 2.5.0.0, but not for the TF300TG.

I've noticed absence of 4.2 versions for TG (which is natural, as TG 4.2 firmware was released very recently) and decided to flash TF300T version on my own risk.
Yes, it seems that patched TWRP 2.4.4.0 works fine on my TG. But I've only installed SuperSU update with it, and wasn't tried to backup/restore with it.
Be careful, though. Flashing recovery intended for another model isn't such a good idea, I've been lucky enough not to brick my device, but who knows what may have happened?

The 4.2 version of TWRP 2.5.0.0 also works just fine here...just flashed it successfully on my device :good:

Twrp 2500 is indeed working good.
----------------------
But after doing the wipe system etc. and then flashing the blob to system with fastboot. I didn' t have any recovery, with vol down power didn't see the old usb icon, good moment to panic for for a while.
Took me a few to realize that the tf300tg boots directly into fastboot and no icon is needed anymore to switch to fastboot. Flashed twrp, flashed the supersu.zip to get root. And all works as it should.
1st thought was not that fast, but after a few hours it is very resposive and even running better then cromi 3.4.6.
Would love to test a cromi 4.2 version with TG-kernel for sure.

Hi all,
Please help me with some advice. I looked at above methods to update. But my situation is a bit different.
I have a TF300TG with android 4.1, unlocked BL and Clockwork mod recovery installed (instead of TWRP). I guess that I could use method 3 from the link above, but instead use my Clockwork mod recovery to flash the new firmware correct?
Do I understand correctly that I will lose the Clockwork mod recovery? Will i also loose the unlocked bootloader?

[SOLVED] [Help] I Installed an A500 stock rom on an A501.

I Decided to go back to stock yesterday and have followed the many guides on XDA to un-root to stock 3.2. Unfortunately I'm an idiot and installed an A500 rom instead of the A501 ROM. I would like to know if it's possible to "Upgrade" from 3.2 to an a501 rom using a signed official rom and the stock recovery?
I'd really like to have the official A501 rom installed on my A501, call me crazy
I've tried to install a few stock roms by renaming the zip to update.zip and placing it both on my ext_sdcard and my internal sd of my tablet but none of them have given anything more than the green triangle android recovery screen. Can anyone recommend what I should do next?
Do I need to re-root and re-un-root?
UPDATE:
I discovered that when I flashed the stock a500 rom from my CMW recovery initially, it worked great and I could access the stock recovery with no issues. however in trying to backpedal and go back to root so I could flash the correct a501 rom I rooted my rom and flashed a custom recovery without first flashing an unlocked bootloader. Then when that didn't work I re-flashed the stock recovery. Pieces of the custom recovery may have been left behind OR there was a simple version mismatch. Either way, I've now flashed an unlocked BL, custom recovery, and flashed back to stock a501 3.2. Now I'm back to a501 completely stock and just waiting for an official OTA 4.0.3 update.
Just read on acer's website the A501 doesn't get ICS. How sad.
It's possible to flash an a501 stock rom over the a500 one. The stock roms you tried without success could've been encrypted and you'll need to use the acer update decryptor to decrypt them. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1099673
After decrypting the file with it, unzip it and use the included update.zip to flash your tab.

Rooted N7 - best way to update to 4.3 ROM?

I rooted my N7 (NE370T) a few months ago but can't remember how I did it. I would now like to flash a stock 4.3 ROM to it, and was looking for the safest way of doing it while retaining root. I have CWM 6.0.1.9 installed - would it be easiest to install a flashable stock rooted ROM zip from CWM? (e.g. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2376881)
I'm currently on v4.2.1 (JOP40D)

Yes it would be easiest to flash a 4.3 ROM actually. I went the way of Clean ROM 4.0 and faux kernel and I don't regret it. It came pre rooted and optimized. Though as always you should make a nandroid before you flash anything.
Also, make sure your bootloader is up to date if you have problems flashing a 4. 3 ROM

Sorry for the dumb question, but how do I check and update my bootloader version??
Check the dev section for the latest bootloader. As for checking, you'd have to use commands in fastboot and I'm sorry I don't know them. Basically what I would do is just do as I said in the previous post. If things don't work, then it's obvious you'd need to either update Cwm or your bootloader or both.

You might want to have a look at my blog, there I described a very easy way for updating to 4.3
Boot loader version comes up in the bootloader screen ( vol down + vol up + power while tab is off ) .. And to flash the bootloader
Code:
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
4.23 is the latest version for bootloader.
Sent from my Nexus 7
Thanks for all the help. I managed to successfully flash a pre-rooted 4.3 stock ROM from a zip using CWM recovery. I suspect that my bootloader may not be the latest but everything seems to be working OK so I guess it's OK to leave it.

[Q] Latest Twrp Req for PAC rom?

I have managed to root the device but TWRP is not working on aboot 5.0.2. You can see the post links below.
It is merely few commands on 5.0.2 to run recovery by downgrading your aboot to 4.2.2 but then, Lollipop wouldn't start and you will need to reflash aboot 5.0.2.
So basically it is a choice between Lollipop rooted without recovery or Kitkat with root & recovery. I think we are not flashing anything as yet so it would not be much of a problem actually to not have a recovery. When we do need however, we can downgrade our aboot and flash twrp using loki and then flash the rom we want to.

It's not a rumour. It definitely exists. It won't matter what recovery you use or what version as to whether you need to swap aboot.img versions temporarily if you're running stock LG Lollipop, if that's what you're wondering. 4.2.2 aboot.img lets the custom recovery boot, anything newer doesn't. And stock LG Lollipop won't boot on the 4.2.2 aboot.img, so you have to swap the new 35A_08 5.0.2 aboot.img in to get the ROM to boot.
I'm guessing the dev who made the newest TWRP for the VK810.4G is waiting to release it to the public until/if he gets CM 12.1 completely straightened out for our device. He'll probably release both at the same time.
