I have been running Thor's ICS builds and since I see the official ICS rom is out I wanted to go to that. I assumed I could just revert back to the 3.0.1 unstable rom after removing CWM recovery but I was very wrong apparently...
I removed the CWM recovery and flashed the unstable rom through stock recovery as a update.zip file, rebooted and now it gets to the android screen and just loops in that over and over.
I have tried flashing different Honeycomb roms but all of them do the same thing when I try to boot.
What am I doing wrong?
I am still rooted but I don't think that matters much at this point since I can't get to anywhere that would use it...
You must reset your device. I dont have the link here, but i found it here in the xda forum.

i want to install flexreaper ROM on my acer a500. how do i do that?
i am on stock HC 3.2.1, not rooted or anything.
do i need to upgrade to ICS first to flash the ROM?
Thanks.
Read this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18503406 to root your tablet then install ROM of your choice.
I would suggest reading all instructions through at least twice.

simple question. can i flash flexreaper rom with stock ics 4.0.3 recovery? or do i have to unlock bootloader and install custom recovery first? i have limited access to a pc and just got rooted this morning
You should be able to. Be sure to flash the honeycomb kernel parts immediately after flashing the ROM.

simple answer: no you cannot flash much of anything with the stock recovery.
If you want flexreaper then yes its best to flash the patched bootloader. Have the rom on yr sdcard ready to install once you've flashed the bootloader/custom recovery.
You can use the locked bootloader (3.01) with some of the flexreaper roms but be warned, its not the optimal solution. If you go this route you will need acer recovery installer to flash a custom recovery first.

If you really want the ring you'll need to update the BL
Do you have yr cpuid from HC or an old HC backup??
any reason you're not too keen to flash???
No I never had the Hc uid I updated to ota straight out of the box. I have my current uid tho. it's not that I'm against flashing I just have limited access to a PC and to install programs and go through the whole process with someone elses PC is basically unreasonable.

yeh fair enough. I ran stock OTA ics for a month or so and was reasonably happy with it...civato's stock ics rom was better though...and as far as his flex series of roms go they are the absolute best!!

I know it. I can see the features and the overwhelming recognition on YouTube and any Google search of a500 room. I'm just looking for the magical update.zip file that will cure all my shortcomings as far as the iconia goes. Thanks for the help friend.

Hello,
I don't know if you are talking about that but Asus France has announced that Android 4.2 will roll out in the next days for the Asus TF300TG.
If someone installs it I would be grateful if he can say if everything is OK after the update.

Installed it OTA restored root with OTA root keeper
Everithing works smooth and fine except the calendar widget I can't synchronise with the 4.2 launcher.

Updated my unlocked TF300TG with second method from this thread and everything went fine. Successfully installed TWRP recovery afterwards (taken from the same thread), and flashed SuperSU update ZIP from here.
PS Stock 10.4.3.7 (WW sku) firmware and TWRP recovery was installed before update.
PPS Be careful! TWRP recovery version mentioned above was intended for TF300T. It seems to work fine on my TF300TG, but flashing it may be not such a good idea.

I did the same, except I used method 1.
I didn't flash a TWRP recovery yet though. Are you saying that the patched 2.4.4.0 for the TF300T also works on the TF300TG?
I noticed that on the official TWRP page (http://techerrata.com/browse/twrp2/tf300t) there are special 4.2 versions of TWRP 2.4.4.0 and 2.5.0.0, but not for the TF300TG.

I've noticed absence of 4.2 versions for TG (which is natural, as TG 4.2 firmware was released very recently) and decided to flash TF300T version on my own risk.
Yes, it seems that patched TWRP 2.4.4.0 works fine on my TG. But I've only installed SuperSU update with it, and wasn't tried to backup/restore with it.
Be careful, though. Flashing recovery intended for another model isn't such a good idea, I've been lucky enough not to brick my device, but who knows what may have happened?

The 4.2 version of TWRP 2.5.0.0 also works just fine here...just flashed it successfully on my device :good:
Twrp 2500 is indeed working good.
----------------------
But after doing the wipe system etc. and then flashing the blob to system with fastboot. I didn' t have any recovery, with vol down power didn't see the old usb icon, good moment to panic for for a while.
Took me a few to realize that the tf300tg boots directly into fastboot and no icon is needed anymore to switch to fastboot. Flashed twrp, flashed the supersu.zip to get root. And all works as it should.
1st thought was not that fast, but after a few hours it is very resposive and even running better then cromi 3.4.6.
Would love to test a cromi 4.2 version with TG-kernel for sure.

Hi all,
Please help me with some advice. I looked at above methods to update. But my situation is a bit different.
I have a TF300TG with android 4.1, unlocked BL and Clockwork mod recovery installed (instead of TWRP). I guess that I could use method 3 from the link above, but instead use my Clockwork mod recovery to flash the new firmware correct?
Do I understand correctly that I will lose the Clockwork mod recovery? Will i also loose the unlocked bootloader?

Hey guys maybe you heard this problem 100 thimes but its a kind of special because I have got CWM Recovery from thor2002ro.
I cant install any rom original or any other every time it stucks on acer logo....
I tried to format cache and Isearched in several theards but didnt found anyting.
First I tried to flash custom rom like in this video:
(HD) Root Your Acer Iconia A500/A501 from Honeycomb 3.2/3.2.1 Sry but i cant send links :/
I installt the 3.0.1 and i rooted my device sucessfully but after I installt the Little_Honey_3.2.2 my iconia stuck at the acer logo and didn't came out yet.
Please help i am lost without my tablet.
Honeycomb roms need to run on hc boot loader.
ICS Stock/OTA roms need ics stock bootloader
Custom ICS/JB xda roms require skrilax_cz unlocked bootloader v8 or v9.
You need to make sure you flash the correct recovery, rom and bootloader combination.
Read the root guide in my Sig for more info

Thank you for your help, I got the CPUID using Ubuntu, then installed Skrilaz's V8 Bootloader and flashed the Alexandra IV ROM.
