Nook Color no booting from sandisk - Nook Color Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey everyone, I two nooks. One everything works flawlessly on. So I'm positive I have all my sandisk files set up correctly. The model that is currently working is BNRV200.
The model nook that is NOT working is BNTV250. The problem is that it won't even try to boot from the disks. It boots up the nook OS as usual. I simply can not find an answer to this question. Most of the topics I have read people just didn't set up their disks properly.
I attempted to install Cyanogenmod mod and I tried to boot Nookie Froyo. Both work perfectly on my BNRV200.
If anyone know the answer to this, It would be GREATLY appreciated!

Nook Tablet (250) requires different software than Nook Color (200). Try the XDA forum for the Nook Tablet.

[Q] Nook Color Firmware v1.4.1 update w/n2acard's cm7.x?

Has anyone attempted dual-booting the new Nook Color v1.4.1 Firmware w/ @Nook2Android cards yet? (announcement from @nookBN on twitter): Nook Color v1.4.1 Firmware Update Now Available for Sideloading
Specifically: Does the new Nook Color v1.4.1 Firmware update lock out n2acard's CM7.x dual-boot feature?
Recommendation: IF already running an n2acard CM7.x dual-booting Nook Color, Do NOT boot into emmc/NOOK until it is safely established and confirmed that you can do so, OR: do NOT allow emmc/NOOK to connect to WIFI as it will be pushed OTA through WIFI this week. Haven't seen anything on n2acards.com forums yet either.
As I rarely boot into emmc/NOOK this won't be too hard for me. Others may need reminding. YMMV.
Updated: NC update v1.4.1 w/n2acards cm7.x?
After catching up on the other Nook Forum threads:
It IS safe to update to Nook Color Firmware v1.4.1.
Just to be safe, I powered down my NC. Pulled my SD card. Did a manual update from my MacBook.
The update copied, updated, booted perfectly afterwards.
CM7 SD card booted aftwards with no problems.
Still a JR member, unable to post links yet. NC Firmware v1.4.1 is at the B&N's NC Software update page complete with instructions. YMMV, but I had no problems. All apps post update on both emmc & CM7 SD card work fine.
It even inspired me to put nookhoney on a separate SD card. It runs fine as well. Have been playing around with the Android SDK on my MacBook, playing with Honeycomb & ICS. Digging into the CM9 alphas to see what's left for an NC build attempt. yay. just sayin'
Hey man, a couple of us have had ClockworkMod reject the update... Did you run into this issue? Mine (same setup) tried to install the rom, showed the little package unzip animation, then an Exclamation point. It then went into Clockwork Mod, and told me that the ROM was unsigned.
Any help would be appreciated.
I didn't run into this. Let me do some digging and see what I come up with. Did you try switching your ROM back to stock, doing the B&N firmware upgrade, then work from there?
Sent from my NookColor using xda premium
obviously i was hoping to avoid that... however I can give it a shot...
I think the main problem is that you got ripped off by N2A
Barnes & Noble Nook Color 1.4.1 fixed for CWM Recovery
Here is a link to the complete Barnes & Noble Nook Color v1.4.1 stock firmware:
http : //www . filefactory . com / file / c0caebb / n / nook-complete-restore-1.4.1.zip
Just remove the extra spaces to reconstruct the URL.
The manifest and updater-script contained within have been updated to work with the install ZIP file function of CWM Recovery. You will not get the error message that the update is unsigned.
Would somebody please mirror the above file somewhere to another host, as it will be gone from FileFactory after 90 days?
Thanks.

Hey. I downloaded that file and have been trying to get it to load. Long story short. I was unsuccessful. I was under the impression I didn't have to re-root nook and that all I had to do was copy nook-complete-restore-1.4.1.zip to my nook color or the sd card or something. But I kept running into problems. Are there a set of instructions directly for nook-complete-restore-1.4.1.zip?? Much thanks. Just trying to avoid unrooting, factory stock, updgraeadalskdj ;akld ;akld all the work having to do the work as mentioned above. In short---what am I doing wrong? Much Thanks for any help.

Someone else may correct me if I'm wrong here -- you must boot your Nook Color with the Clockwork Mod Recovery utility running from a bootable SD card -- the firmware's .ZIP file should be on that same SD card so that you can access/install it with the utility. That said, because the firmware is to be installed to your Nook Color's internal memory (eMCC), your rooted setup will most likely be overwritten, and then you'll have to re-root your Nook Color after the B&N stock firmware has been verified as successfully installed.
I'm not sure how much effort is involved to back up apps and settings, install the stock firmware, re-root the Nook Color, and then restore the backed-up settings and apps -- it may or may not be worth all the effort.

Help! Bricked Nook 8GB, AOUTRF Not Downloading from Any Sources

Total noob here, but learning fast. Hit a "brick" wall:
I just picked up a Nook tablet today from BB, 8GB. I tried rolling back to 1.4.0 with this process (I know I shouldn't have, but couldn't find the alternative) http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1402190.html
Now its bricked, no sign of power, nothing. So I want to try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1470910&page=12
But the download link, or others, will not work.
Does anyone have a solution for me please? Much gratitude.
Do you have a Nook Color or Tablet? If it's the Color try to set up a SD boot card. For the tablet check http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1508.

[Q] Recover Nook Simple Touch Glowlight

Hi, i hope the answer to this is not anywhere else. I cannot recover my nook simple touch (glowlight). Here is what i did
1) I tried to root the device with this guide (not knowing that this is not for glowlight version)
http://nookdevs.com/Nook_Simple_Touch/Rooting
-> the process stopped at the instructions page and i rebooted
-> after that the device did this endless loop where i think it reboots during the moving dots
2) When i found out that i should have used this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1675706
I followed that procedure as well but the device did not boot as it should after the installation of glownooter-1-5-26.zip
3) Then i found the guide to do the 8x reboot recover which did not work (or I did something wrong)
4) as everything failed I tried the reboot recover from CVM framework which resulted in a page saying: install failed
So my question is: is there a way to still recover my device? what can i do? if i missed some inportant info, plz ask.
Thx for any help
greets cloud

I'm in a similar situation with a bricked nook glow that won't get past "install failed" screen. Tried both methods described in the page you linked, but neither worked.
Is there anything else that can be done to revive the device? I tried almost every method I could find in the forums....
TIA
no glowlight

[Q] No touch screen response after running flash utility from cm10 distro

OK, here's my Beavis and Butthead moment for the week:
I finally got around to running / booting cm10-121208_acclaim_sd_hd.img from my flash card a couple of nights ago. Once I got it up and running I was looking around through the available programs on it and ended up running a flash upgrade utility on it that went out to the internet and downloaded some "upgrade". It asked me if I knew for sure what I was doing and like an idiot I hit YES. Now the touchscreen doesn't work at all. I've tried running / installing all kinds of things like :
bn_142_factory_recovery.zip
cm10_121208_acclaim_sd_hd.zip
cm-10-20121219-NIGHTLY-encore.zip
They all seem to run from SD OK but still no touchscreen function.
My new Nook specifics WERE : model number BNTV250 software version 1.4.3 when I got it a few days ago.
Is anyone here familiar enough with cm10-121208_acclaim_sd_hd.img who can tell me what flash utilities are on it? Or maybe tell me how to fix my Nook if possible?
Any help greatly appreciated.

[Q] Mac Guide to Root 1.4.3

I have a nook color I haven't used in 2 years and thought I should do something with it. I discovered rooting 2 days ago, and I have no idea how. I've googled it tons of times but I can't find an up-to-date guide to root an NC using Mac. I want to use either MIUI or Mirage CM7, and I want to boot from the SD card. If someone could tell me how to do the entire process, that would help me so much! One more thing, I'm on 1.4.3 firmware.
