OK, here's my Beavis and Butthead moment for the week:
I finally got around to running / booting cm10-121208_acclaim_sd_hd.img from my flash card a couple of nights ago. Once I got it up and running I was looking around through the available programs on it and ended up running a flash upgrade utility on it that went out to the internet and downloaded some "upgrade". It asked me if I knew for sure what I was doing and like an idiot I hit YES. Now the touchscreen doesn't work at all. I've tried running / installing all kinds of things like :
bn_142_factory_recovery.zip
cm10_121208_acclaim_sd_hd.zip
cm-10-20121219-NIGHTLY-encore.zip
They all seem to run from SD OK but still no touchscreen function.
My new Nook specifics WERE : model number BNTV250 software version 1.4.3 when I got it a few days ago.
Is anyone here familiar enough with cm10-121208_acclaim_sd_hd.img who can tell me what flash utilities are on it? Or maybe tell me how to fix my Nook if possible?
Any help greatly appreciated.
You have a Nook Tablet. This is the Nook Color forum. There is a specific forum for the Nook Tablet. You'll get better help there.

so i just bought my nook color today and i have some questions, i was searching around in the android development forum and their were about 50 different methods of doing everything.
i am experienced with android and how to do anything just if somebody could post up links in an order i need to follow to be able to get CM7 on to it.
if possible flashing to nand would be preferable but if all we have is SD support thats okay too
thanks for the help guys
also i know i will likely get flamed for this thread but just know i am experienced with android and i have ran it on a non native device before (htc vogue).
My go-to link for flashing CM7 to the internal memory:

You can get just about anywhere with the nook via two steps:
1) run autonooter for your software version (THIS is for 1.1, obviously for the other versions it will be a different thread)
2) use the market to download ROM Manager, then flash the CWM recovery and download 7.0.2 from the app (or pull a different CWM zip from the forums onto your card if you prefer) and flash.
Simple enough

This isn't your Hero!!! I don't think you can brick this thing.... The Nook always tries to boot from SD before internal memory!!! I had a hell of a time getting CM7 to load originally (at least 10+ minutes). Once you get it loaded, put away that SD card you burned the recovery image too.....Put a new SD card in, install Rom Manager, and flash recovery to it from Rom Manager. Once you get there you can Nand and flash stuff just like you do on your phone.
**Edit** If you get really jammed up, here's the thread on returning to stock unrooted B&N firmware, so you can start over....

Total noob here, but learning fast. Hit a "brick" wall:
I just picked up a Nook tablet today from BB, 8GB. I tried rolling back to 1.4.0 with this process (I know I shouldn't have, but couldn't find the alternative) http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-1402190.html
Now its bricked, no sign of power, nothing. So I want to try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1470910&page=12
But the download link, or others, will not work.
Does anyone have a solution for me please? Much gratitude.
Do you have a Nook Color or Tablet? If it's the Color try to set up a SD boot card. For the tablet check http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1508.
So I have a Nook Simple Touch tablet. My dad tried to root it but either bricked it or something else. It is flashing at where it says "Nook by Barnes & Noble" and it keeps flashing between the first two dots of the five and does that non stop. If somebody could tell me what that means and how I can fix it in Lame Mans terms because this is my first experience with a Nook. Thank You

The easiest way?
Use method 2.
http://nookdevs.com/Nook_Simple_Touch_restore_to_stock
This will format your nook and restore it to stock image. All data will be lost but your nook should get better.
After the procedure check what firmware version you have installed and if it's not 1.2.1 upgrade it using instructions on B&N site.
Thanks I will try this when I get home.
Hey everyone, I two nooks. One everything works flawlessly on. So I'm positive I have all my sandisk files set up correctly. The model that is currently working is BNRV200.
The model nook that is NOT working is BNTV250. The problem is that it won't even try to boot from the disks. It boots up the nook OS as usual. I simply can not find an answer to this question. Most of the topics I have read people just didn't set up their disks properly.
I attempted to install Cyanogenmod mod and I tried to boot Nookie Froyo. Both work perfectly on my BNRV200.
If anyone know the answer to this, It would be GREATLY appreciated!

Nook Tablet (250) requires different software than Nook Color (200). Try the XDA forum for the Nook Tablet.
I have a nook color I haven't used in 2 years and thought I should do something with it. I discovered rooting 2 days ago, and I have no idea how. I've googled it tons of times but I can't find an up-to-date guide to root an NC using Mac. I want to use either MIUI or Mirage CM7, and I want to boot from the SD card. If someone could tell me how to do the entire process, that would help me so much! One more thing, I'm on 1.4.3 firmware.
