I find that my Minis' on/off button is unresponsive occasionally and I was wondering if anyone else felt theres was also?
Ive only had this issue when the phones locked and I bring it in and out of showing me my status. It appears the bottom icons have to light up before it will react to my press of the on/off button again.
Same for me ! Sometime I need to remove battery to restart using my HD MINI ...
Any solution ?

I have the same problem, sometimes, the button is not responsive. There should be a solution for it. Someone has to report to htc.
I have the same problem, i think that it is caused by either to many running applications or by a application that hangs.
for the most i just have to wait a minute or two and then it works again.
Last time i connected the charger, it also worked and i have also tried to call the phone from another phone. it also worked.

yes... I think it's because of many programs... I have this when I'm doing something and I push the button fast to turn of the screen and suddenly remember I forgot something and push it again to turn on... I think It's normal!!
sometimes it's anything but normal, but i found a soft reset (or hard reset for that matter) often is the solution. So it's most likely an application or process that hangs, leaving it for a few minutes and then trying to unlock it usually does the trick
i have had my atrix for 4 days now and its locked up 3 times were i had to take the battery out to restart it anyone else have this problem anyone no how to fix it or should i return it for a new one

Did you install any applications from the market? Is your phone freezing while a certain application is open or does it freeze even on the homescreen? If you have a lot of applications installed try to deinstall and look if it becomes better. If not try a factory reset. If it still freezes than return it for a new one.
Would you mind saying what you were doing when it locks up?
If it's during Music, it doesn't actually lock up, it just shows a black screen for about half a minute. Everything still functions, it just doesn't show.
Two times trying to answer a call the screen would not unlock nothing would work I had to take the battery out and just todayit was sitting on my desk and it would not turn on when I tried to use it
The green message light was on very dim and I had to take the battery out
Sent from my MB860 using XDA App
I have a feeling there is a bad batch of units out there.
Try factory reset and see if it continues to lock up, if it does, return it for another.

Sounds like a broken phone. Try a factory reset (if you return it they anyway ask if you did that) and if that won't help get a new one....

Same thing happened to me yesterday, the light was very dim green and the phone did not respond until I pulled the battery. It hasn't happened again.
I've already had to replace my Atrix for another issue. Right now my confidence in this phone is not very high, but it is brand new. Lots of issues will probably pop up and be fixed via software updates- at least I hope thats the case.
It really feels like all the issues people are having with this phone are software related. Maybe motorolla will just cave and give us gingerbread with no blur
I've had the same problem while playing music...over the past 3 days after about 30 minutes of tunes it'll lock up and after another 5 reset itself...i've done the reset after the second and it still does it...i'm bout to take it back and exchange it...i expect glitches but damn.
Motorola Atrix (stock)
AT&T Fuze (Energy.RAPHAEL.21916.Sense2.5.Cookie.2.0.sencity)
I have had the issue happen 2 me twice in 3 days, the last time was when adding the note widget to screen. It was not completely locked up just the touch screen, i could press the power off button but the touch screen would not let me shutdown
something you might want to try if a factory reset doesn't work would be a reinstall from the recovery menu.
power your phone off
hold the down volume key and the power button
release the power button once the phone begins to boot
keep holding the down volume button until you see "fastboot" at the top of the screen
now be careful, the down volume button navigates through the boot options and the up volume selects one
so press the down volume button until you come across "android recovery"
once you see it press the up volume button to select it
once you get to the screen with the exclamation mark tap the bottom right of the touchscreen, this should pop up the recovery menu
select wipe data/factory reset
let the phone do it's thing
good luck
I've seen this resolve some audio codec issues that were causing the phone's mic to not work, dunno if it'll work for your issue but it can't hurt to try.
best of luck

I have found a fix for my lockup issue. If the screen is on and lockup (no touch screen) press the power button 2, turns off the display and turns it back on and everything continues to work fine.

I have the same problem (screen randomly locks up once or twice a day, buttons dead) and have found the above "solution" to work perfectly, also. The problem however is that pressing the power button twice and unlocking the phone is not exactly elegant especially if the screen locks while you are trying to answer an incoming call.
I changed my battery settings to "performance mode" as I read somewhere that that might help. I will let you know if that seems to resolve the issue.
Changing battery setting doesn't seem to do anything. I still get my share of frozen/locked up screens a few times a day. Still have not figured out how to replicate the behavior. It really does seem random.
I've been suffering from this as well, I'm going to try to exchange my phone and see if that helps.
Exchanged my phone today. So far I haven't seen any locked/frozen screen issues. I am relieved. Maybe there are just a few bad units out there.
Also for what it is worth ... the lady at AT&T told me that taking out the battery while the phone is on would fix it. Since I never figured out how to replicate the behavior I couldn't verify that her suggestion would indeed actually fix the problem and demanded an exchange anyways.
atrix does lock up and have glitches
lock up glitch:
While in standby (screen black), it locks up. You obviously don't know when exactly it happens as it's lying around in standby. When you press the powerbutton to wake it up, nothing happens. You can try what you want, long press, several presses, just dead phone. As if the battery losts juice, but 2 times it happened and the battery was above 50%.
Tired to connect the charger while in that lock-up state. Nothing happens The notification light remains black as well.
The 2nd time this happened to me, I had the idea to call myself and see if just the powerbutton has a glitch and the phone is actually running just remaining in standby with a black screen. But nope, the phone didn't ring or wake up.
Only way to recover is to take the battery out.
I didn't mess with my phone and was very careful in which apps I installed. The only ones I have are very populoar 4+star apps:
extended controls
easy profiles
the other apps are most of the time not even running:
photoaf, vignette, imdb, nytimes, fb, skype, pandora, screen filter, droid light, prozoom5x camera
No games at all installed...
The 2nd glitch that happened to me a couple of times is that the finger print sensor is not working: It doesn't display any message as in " did not verify, too short, ..." it's just dead, the only way to get in is to punch in the number code.
This is typically fixed after switching the phone off fully.
Of course skype also doesn't work on my atrix (well known mic issue)
It happened to me as well. I had installed some apps but when it froze it had been off (the screen that is) so it was sitting then when I tried to open it by pressing the power button the green light came on but it would not wake. I removed the battery, replaced it then it did the same thing again (including the green light). I removed and installed the battery once more then it was fine. It must have been something in the backround but not sure as to what that was. Hasnt happened again though.

strange, skype worked for me... oh well.
did you ever find a solution for the lockup issue, have the same thing, very frustrating but not as frequent as you thankfully.
My Atrix started to freeze up when I undervolted the CPU using SetCPU and I would have to pull the battery out and restart it. I increased the voltage settings and it hasn't locked up since, so if you have undervolted your CPU and your phone is locking up, you should increase the voltages.
I'm having some serious issues with my phone. This morning the battery was suddenly drained completely, don’t know why yet. Then after charging the phone a bit and rebooting it, it constantly goes into driving mode and starting the voice command application. The most strange thing however is that when I choose to power off the phone, it shuts down but then automatically reboots.
I know I should try factory reset, but anyone else had this problem?
(I have original firmware and the phone isn't rooted)
EDIT:
Doing a hard reset seems to have solved the problem.
Maybe your power button is broken (constantly pressed)? Did the phone get wet?
I have not heard of this. I've heard of bootloops and the phone rebooting when trying to power off but thats usually due to custom roms and people flashing over other custom roms which causes conflict. I think factory reset may be the only option. However, with the Galaxy S there used to be a way to get into safe mode. I beleive you'd hit the menu button as soon as you saw the Galaxy S boot logo. I haven't heard of a safe mode yet for SGS2 but perhaps someone can confirm if its available in this model?
If you can still get into settings of the phone when its on, I'd try going into Settings > Applications > Manage Applications and clearning data for voice commands
It almost seems as though your phone is registering home button being clicked thereby turning voice mode on and also turning it back on after a power off.

Hi,
I was have exactly same problem, reset don't resolve my issue.
Solution was to replace my phone.
Thanks for the help, gonna try factory reset first. But this doesn't look like a software problem, so probably gonna need to replace it

Well this is a strange problem. Is it possible a bread crumb got under your buttons? Or some case is so tight it is pressing on some buttons?
Don't have a case around it, but the power button isn't stuck I think because wouldn't the menu for shutting down the phone etc. appaer constantly? And if it's something under the buttons then it is just bad design, had the phone only a couple of weeks.

I had the same problem mate. And that was exactly what I thought, I actually started a thread on this problem about 2 weeks ago. Was really strange, people told me to take it back. But What I did was factory reset on the phone. Which still didn't completely solve my problem. So I left the battery out the phone over night. The most annoying thing was, the screen kept turning on, like something was being pressed, can't have been the middle button, because the menu would have come up, it didn't do that. And then to make matters worse the tap to speak driving mode kept coming up.
I then took out the battery and left it out over night. Put it back in, in the morning. Charged it up. Didn't do it again.
Hope that helps. Try it.
Ok thanks, I will try it. It is really a strange problem as you say. After the factory reset the problem showed up again but not as often as before. Also after upgrading to latest firmware today, according to the battery monitor android OS is using 45%, that looks really strange to me.
Hey everyone. Ive been searchnig around and cant find any information on this. I was told that the tablet enters a deep sleep mode to save battery. Ive noticed that while im playing music and the tablet screen times out, after the song finishes it never moves on to the next song. Also when it wakes up the screen is unresponsive for a few seconds. I have tried a few roms and thiese issues seem to be on all of them. Anyone else having this? Any fixes?
i have a similar issue where if the screen is off for longer than about 5 minutes, the wifi disconnects. its not really a problem since it jumps back on pretty quickly, i'm more wondering if anybody else has this. and sometimes, if the screen is off longer than a day or so, it worn't wake up - i have to powercycle it...

Your wifi is disconnecting due to your wifi policy in settings.
As for the "deep sleep", I've seen this once or twice. Seems to be something endemic to the Tegra chipset itself, as it gets reported on all devices.
the screen not responding i can put up with if i have to. but i have never had these issues with 3.0.1 stock. im not downplaying any of the amazing roms out there. because i know this is an android related bug. i was told i should try another music player as some have a workaround for this issue. but google music on the tablet is the best music player imo. anyone know of a fix? can someone else also confirm that the music issue is present on their device?
Hi,
Same things here : when the screen is off, the player never goes to the next song.
Any fix ?
Siso
I've noticed this deep sleep thing a few times with HC3.1. Can't seem to wake it backup up once it's in it. Don't know about the song issue with it.
Normally when the screen goes off, i just hit the power button and it's ready for me to do my unlock pattern. But when it goes into this deep sleep, it refuses to wake up. I have to hold the power button down for about 10 seconds (no vibration noted). let go, then hold it down for about 8 seconds until I feel the "boot up" vibration.
It hasn't bothered me too much yet. It doesn't seem to do it very often. I guess I use it often enough to keep it from doing it.

Yeah, that's what i was trying to describe in the second half of my post. Much better said here, anyone else experiencing this annoying if non-frequent issue?
yes, i have a few times, on 3.01 and 3.1
both of my issues where solved in android 3.2... i am once again happy
Can you all possible update your posts with what build of 3.1 you're using?
I am in the US and was on .08 and my sleep issues from 3.0.1 were completely resolved so I'm trying to find out if it still exists on foreign builds of the ROM.
If you're on the U.S version - I know you don't want to hear this, but you might want to try a factory reset. There could be some settings 'stuck' in the system. A file that didn't get overwritten which was supposed to by the update, etc. Anything can happen. It's like going from 1 version of Linux/Windows to the next using an upgrade when you don't factory reset.
Alternatively, you could also wait for the .10 version being seeded right now to see if that helps. But as I mentioned, I didn't have the issue on my tablet so it's likely some folks are experiencing a software glitch.
Any solution to this? Any good players that would work as they should?

it appears the issue was with android 3.1 itself. try a 3.2 rom. all of the issues are gone
Anyone else see this? Usually works that all of a sudden I need to press the power button to turn the phone on.
I think I have found the issue.
I believe it's pocket mode and the sensor stops reading and thinks it's covered
Yeah. It happens to me every so often. See this thread, https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-6t/help/lock-screen-freezes-t3869001. It was really starting to get bad when I was on 9.0.6. Sometimes even hitting the power button wouldn't wake it immediately. I'd have to hit it a few times, which would then trigger the camera. Since I updated to 9.0.7, it hasn't happened as frequently, maybe only a couple of times. I hadn't considered it possibly being related to pocket mode since I notice it mostly when I pick up the phone off of my desk.

Yeah I take the pocket mode comment back. I only noticed it happening the device was covered but it has happened the times within two days where the device is out on my desk. I can't find a cause or pattern it's just annoying.
