Removing root with sbf file - Droid X General

The short story:
A long time ago I rooted a friends x. He no longer wants it rooted.
The process:
I went to remove root (after searching how) using files from:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1QZtlBNvzefJXL1QAM5FJWJWlXHmy4skwmya-XaTM5QE/mobilebasic
And following this video:
http://youtu.be/ZQBfsYWMuhQ
Phone is running:
2.3.4
SBF file used:
Android 2.3.4 System Version 4.5.621 (1FF-p3a_shadow_cdma_shadow-user-2.3.4-4.5.1_57_DX8-51-120111-test-keys-signed-Verizon-US.sbf.zip)
The Problem:
RSDl lite goes through the whole process. Phone reboots it says manually reboot phone. I manually reboot. Then rsd passes it. But nothing has happened to the phone. All apps, texts, passwords, security swipe pattern, and the kicker........ Superuser.... Are still there.
I know I'm missing something stupid. But I can't figure it out.
All help is appreciated. Sorry I posted on my phone.. Tried to make it as detailed as possible...
Many thanks to SD_Shadow for the video, and the files provided

sbfing does not wipe user data, if you need that wiped, need to do a data wipe/factory reset

flashing sbf does unroot
if you want to wipe data, turn off phone, hold x, and power
when you see android andy triangle & !, press both volume buttons
select wipe data, scroll with volume select with power
Sent from my XT862 using xda premium

So.. If I factory reset.. Superuser and root is gone.. Obviously after doing the sbf process I have already done?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using Tapatalk 2

normally superuser is installed as a system app and is removed with sbf.
if it is still there either it is not an system app of sbf failed
if it is a user app you can just remove it in menu/settings/apps
did flashing take 15-25 mins?

[Q] Droid 2 Black Screen Bootloader Mode

Hello all. I recieved a Droid 2 from a friend of mine, to find out that the power button does not work, whenever I put the battery in it immediatlly goes to M screen, and that when I boot into bootloader from UP arrow, there is only a black screen instead of bootloader info. Does anyone else have this issue?
Have you tried powering up holding X to get into stock recovery? You can do a reset from there.
I have tried that multiple times to wipe data and cache, with no other luck.
Should also note that I am on. 621, so the only way I could root is to get into the bootloader mode for RSD Lite.

RSD Lite can see the phone when it is powered on and ADB is enabled.
It will ask me to go into flash mode, I hit OK, the phone reboots to the black screen mode, and about a minute later reboots back into normal mode and RSD Lite tells me that it could not boot into flash mode.
pull battery, replace battery
press and hold the up button on keyboard, connect to charger

UPDATE: After about 5th time trying, the bootloader info showed for about half a second, then the phone powered off.
Seems you need to get the battery charged.
Alright I was able to get into bootloader and root .621
Now for a noob question, I installed RomManager and installed CWM from there, but when I hit Reboot into CWM, it just reboots like normal. Is there any other way to get into CWM?
you need droid 2 bootstrap

My problem was that I installed Android 2.3.6 version Personal, that cannot be downgraded and in theory cannot be rooted. But I managed to root it and now I'm using Android 4.1.2 on my Milestone 2, which is CyanogenMod 10.

[Q] Root and Roms

I'm not sure this is the right place for this, sorry as i am new. Yesterday i finally decided to root my D2 and i love it. Iv'e read around that the best thing to add next is a custom rom for overclocking and stuff. Now iv'e been looking on youtube on google and xda to find out how to do it. To keep it brief i need help and a step by step on what todo. Can anybody help a fellow d2 user out? I was scared just rooting it even more now figuring out how to add custom rom. I'm on stock kernel and rooted. Thank you to anybody that may be able to help me.

If i made the nandroid backup do i still have to use titanium backup to backup everything not sure how all that works or am i good with just the nandroid?
I'm also confused at this step you mentioned :
Select wipe data/ factory reset confirm Yes-- delete all user data
select wipe cache partition confirm Yes- Wipe Cache
Also does installing a rom take about the same time as making a nandroid?
I ask because my battery isnt really good. It was fully charged when i started the nandroid backup and after it's completion it was 50%.
Wouldn't factory reset delete all data even from sd card making the backup disappear?
Apologies for the nooby questions i'm just trying to do everything correct and learning at the same time. Scared abit lol.

So should i save the nandroid to computer and just backup everything with titanium?
I only made the nandroid because of the step on your guide and also been reading its always good to make one.
Titaniium + Nandroid = Basically same thing?
no they are not the same,
a nandroid create a snapshot image of the phones system, restoring it, will restore every system file and user file
normally you only restore a nandroid after trying another rom, and decided to go back
titanium backups apps and app data
also can backup other data if selected

Ah i see. So if i ever decide to take off rom and go back to how things were before i would use nandroid backup as the source to do that?
In the mean time it is fine if i save the nandroid backup on my computer or is it something that i have to keep on sd card?
yes you if you don't like a rom, just boot to cwm, and wipe data/cache and restore nandroid, will reboot like nothing ever happened
if you are trying to save space moving nandroid to pc is fine, alot easier to have on sd card

Also doesnt ask me to sign into my google. Did i do something wrong?
Like all of my google apps are gone.
I was able to install the Google apps now everything is fine. However after I used titanium backup to install my apps n data. Everytime I try to access Google play it just force closes me. Any ideas on why this happens?

You don't need udb debugging in fastboot mode. Flash the full factory image.

Managed to flash full factory image.
When I flashed 4.3, its stucked at "Android is upgrading.... Starting Apps" screen.
When I flashed 4.2 its managed to boot successfully but I don't get the network coverage.
When i try to search network its "Error in searching network".
The baseband version is stated as unknown.
Reflash 4.3 and wait for the installation to finish. If it gets stuck on "Android is upgrading" just restart the phone. This time use THIS toolkit. it has always worked for me.

I too had this problem with my Nexus 4. I flashed the factory image (I tried with Android 4.2 and 4.3) with fastboot and I got exactly the same errors as you. I finally sent back my device to Google, the new one should arrive next week. I have no idea what can cause this problem :/
This thread is old, but if you have a problem with booting, you don't have to go unlocking bootloader and flashing anything if it can be fixed by just going into stock recovery and wiping cache or factory reset (you will lose apps data, but not data in your phone storage.)
Hold Power + Volume Down when the phone is off to go into "fastboot mode". Then use the Volume keys to navigate to Recovery. In there, press some combination of buttons of Volume and Power to bring up the menu (I forgot what the combination is, just fiddle around), then you can wipe cache or factory reset.
If even factory reseting doesn't help, you might need to unlock bootloader and flash factory firmware, but if you unlock the bootloader it will wipe the phone entirely and you will lose all your data. You can try to boot the phone and connect it to your PC, even if it doesn't boot fully there might be a chance MTP is loaded so you can copy files off.

You should do a factory reset in recovery before flashing. Follow the instruction here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010312, and make sure you use the correct firmware image when flashing it.

[Q] Unlocked padlock and reboot issue s4

hi,
i have an att s4 that randomly switched my boot image to an unlocked padlock with the word custom under it. once that happened, it stopped being able to reboot.
the phone now has to be completely ereased (internal memory) and wipe system, cache, dalvik cache and date then install the rom plus gapps to turn on.
i did nothing to th phone other than switch roms once and i belive i went from cm 10.2 to a slimbean to test it out or something. now it will not restart and i am running omni 4.4.1 because thats the last thing i found on my sd.
hep!!!!!
Sounds like you did a full data wipe instead of a factory reset when changing ROMs... That is always a no no. I am not sure how to fix it short of using Odin to go completely back to stock and starting over.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Already tried that and the phone won't let it book the first time. It says that system is. It supported by Att or something. A yellow triangle thing comes up.
You have to read the OP of triangle away. That is part of the process on the S4.
