More often than not, I notice when I attempt to unlock my nexus 7 (inputting the correct lock pattern) it will freeze on the inputted pattern and become not responsive. I have to hold down the power button until it reboots. Can anyone help me out with this? I am running the newest nexus 7 paranoid android along with the motley kernel.

Paranoid Android can be a bit slow at times, but that seems a bit unnatural. I would do a wipe and reinstall. See if that fixes the problem.
I actually flashed back to the March 23 build. Hasn't done it since thank god.

Idk if its the ROM or the kernel. I'm running cna 3.6.6 and francos r23 and the tablet will turn off after awhile of inactivity. Sounds like a feature that can be turned off but figured I would ask here instead of spamming each thread before finding an answer lol.

Do you have to turn it on while holding the power and vol down, then boot from, boot loader? If so its a sleep of death. Not supposed to happen but it does on some kernels at certain settings.

I had the same issue.... was running paranoid and alpha der kernel. I flashed the EOS ROM and faux kernel and all is right again.

Same here.. belive it was with CM + franco r23.
SmoothROM with Bricked no problem.
Its a kernel/ROM thing i guess.

Got the same issue with Stock 4.1.2 + Trinity Kernel.
On Glazed JellyBean v2 + Trinity Kernel it stoped.
My stock rooted N7 did it two or three times. Got it exchanged and had no trouble since.
Just a little thought, decided also to encrypt the tablet, just in case it turned off and wouldn't turn on again, and I had to return it in that state, without being able to do a factory reset and lose any sensitive data.

I guess some kernel settings just resulted in too deep of a sleep from nexus to wake from. Odd it happened on a couple different ones though.

I am using a deodexed 4.2.1 and official cm10.1. I've had it happen three times where the touch screen becomes 100% unresponsive. It always happens on the lock screen and requires a reboot. Anyone else had this issue? Could it be software issues? In the mean time I am back to stock back up.

I'm running rooted stock 4.2.1 and I've had a couple times when the lock screen didn't work. Screen off and on worked. (I would however miss the call obviously) It's rare, but I've had it happen on my Nexus 4, Galaxy S2, Motorola Defy XT, HTC Evo 4G, and my original Motorola Droid 1 slider.
I think it's a glitch and it can happen.
hey i'm on liquidsmooth but it also happened on cm10.1, try Minco V.6 and report if it happens again..
btw all on franco kernel( r23 & r28)
ps: it happens to me on nearly every bootup and needs about 1minute do get responsive..
Hey i just flash cm10.1 on my nexus 4, i've had cm on my nexus before but I've has stock rooted on my phone for the past few weeks.
Anyway the home button is not working and the quick settings are not working and the screen doesn't lock, the screen just switches off but no lock screen.
Anyone else had anything like this?
i've re-downloaded cm and it still doesn't work.
Yes, with CM 10.1.0 over the past day I've noticed that my home button will stop working in the app drawer (that is, it won't dump me back to the main screen). Dunno what is causing it to stop working.
I am not having the lockscreen problem you are describing, everything else is working as expected (except for the Google Now launch animation working).
Have you installed gapps?
Yea have you flashed gapps?
Have you searched the subject first?
Have you tried reflashing it and wiping everything 2 or 3 times?
Have you tried doing anything ?

Yeah I got to the bottom of it. it seems to have something to do with restoring my android I'd (it stops play music from registering my phone as a new device) i did it with nandroid manager.
I re-freshed it and restored my I'd with titanium backup. All is good now.

I am having pretty significant wake locks on my device, I have had it on every ROM/ kernel combo I have tried recently. I have had wake locks on 4.2.2 and 4.3. I can't quite recall when the wake locks started, possibly after I upgraded to 4.3 for the first time but I am not sure. Some screenshots will be attached. I'm not sure if it helps or matters but i have TWRP 2.5. If anyone could give me some advice or a solution that would be greatly appreciated!

My nexus 4 in the past two days rebooted randomly. First it happened when I was on google+ and the second time it happened when I was unlocking my phone with face recognition. Not sure what the problem is..
Other details: was rooted but then unrooted. On stock 4.3 with boot loader unlocked. Please help..

Once again it happened again on the face unlock screen.

Well, your phone is most likely overheating, you can reflash stock and see if that helps, my n4 rarely freezes but you can also run a logcat and see when it freezes what caused it.

I thought it has thermal throttling and plus it usually happens when I pick the device up from it in sleep..though I think I got the problem..I think it was face unlock. I disabled it today later on and I haven't faced any issues so far.
