Hi,
I'm looking for an app to schedule airplane mode, but all apps I tried on Google Play with key word is "airplane mode" or "airplane mode schedule" seem not support to Android 4.2+ (I setup the time to airplane mode but notthing happens ).
Could someone show me which app to do it, it's better if that app have vibration when enable. Thanks

It'll work with the Secure Settings plugin
If you would happen to be on a CM rom you can setup a profile with airplane mode and then install Profile Switcher to set up a schedule.
Good luck!
I use Automateit for that, it's works excellent on Android 4.2 https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=AutomateIt.mainPackage

More than welcome, autorun manager is nice as well but you need the paid version for it to be any use and Gemini does the job so well.

i believe it can also be amended in skype to not auto start or am i missing something?
You can set in the Skype setting, don't tick the automatic.

Skype still has a bad habit of auto starting whenever you receive or make a phone call, signed in or not.
It has TONES of autostart conditions.
Im also looking for the settings so it wont auto start, I cant seem to see it under settings aside from automatically sign in which is already unticked.

You need the reworked SKYPE version hit menu button and option should be there in your face along with exit button.
Note you will have to uninstall original skype before installing the moreworked version. here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16643098#post16643098
If you want to turn off the autostart option do this; disable skype contacts’ sync through Skype settings.

Have been since I've had my SGS2, 7 months..
I am using both S-calendar and Google calendar: i like the homescreen widget for S-Calendar but I prefer using the Google Calendar app for managing appointments.
Considering that I do not want two notifications, I set notifications only in S-calendar with vibration and turned them off in Google calendar.
Problem is that every time i reboot the tablet, it resets the settings of both calendar apps: it removes vibration in S-calendar and enables notification in Google calendar.
Anyone else?
anyone?
Why you reboot your note?
Mine never rebooted.

Yea I had the same exact issue with mine. I realized that the 2 notifications in both apps are tied together. Meaning if you change one, it'll reset the other on reboot.
I wanted the notifications from S-cal and the googlecalendar app for management as well. I ended up disabling the S-Cal app entirely in the app management settings menu and instead using the google-cal app for everything. I dont think there is a way to separate the 2 apps.
If you find a way I'd like to know as well. Sorry I cant be more helpful.
This won't work on ICS builds, but if you have upgraded to JB 4.1 then in Settings - > Application Manager you can disable notifications on a per app basis.

yes this I know, my question was more: why upon restart the notification settings of both google and s calendar are set back to original values?
That I'm not sure. It shouldn't be resetting the setting on a reboot.

Is their an apk that runs so I can use NFC tags without having to enter my password every time? I found one that worked with the Galaxy Nexus, but didn't say anything about the Nexus 4
AOKP has the option under Nfc to enable this. Other than that I can't find anything on it. Been searching for a couple days now.
Apk? You mean an app? I believe Tasker can do this (maybe a plugin like Secure Settings is needed to disable the lock screen)

no aokp is a custom firmware
Can anyone who has NFC active whilst locked give me some idea on what extra battery drain is evident (if at all).
Thanks

What app works for the Galaxy Nexus? I've been looking for such an app for a long time.
Is there a mod for NFC to work whilst screen is ON but password not entered?
All I've found is screen off mod - but that seems to get high battery drain.

Finally found a solution that I'm happy with. I used Exposed Installer with NFC Lockscreen Enabler Module and that did the trick. You can even configure it to only work when the screen is on with the password screen being displayed, saves on battery life a lot.

Thank you sir!
I use Google Now quite often but when I woke up this morning, swiping up from the bottom of the screen no longer does anything. I don't remember turning Now off and can't seem to find the settings to turn it back on.
Does anyone know how to turn it back on?

No now that I looked the Google search bar is missing as well. I looked in settings>apps>all and can't find it to enable it, not that I ever disabled it anyway.

It's more likely that you've got an app doing that. You could also check your sleep settings (Settings --> Wi-Fi --> Advanced), but I'd be relatively sure that there's an app trying to sync and turning on Wi-Fi as a result.
+1 Rirere
definitely. Especially if you have an app that manages your schedule where wifi / airplane mode is off at certain times of the day.

One way of looking is if you have a firewall app and see which app is using data when you leave the tablet in active (disable all account syncing through settings -> accounts to avoid any false positives).
Alternatively you can do something similar above. Disable sync, and see what apps are chewing up data through the settings menu (Settings -> Data usage) when you disable all syncing. Probably one of the easiest way to do it without installing other apps.
Hope that helps
Can't I use LogCat for this?
