I don't know if you managed to find the solution to this, but for anyone else out there that hasn't, just download the AutoRec app. Fixes it in seconds and flashes TWRP Recovery.
need help

It's a bootloader issue, for me it was. If you can enter recovery, flash JB Bootloader or KK Bootloader, whatever your rom needs. it worked for me.
Autorec

Hey man, if youre able to boot into your rom, try this,
AutoRec
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496
It sorts of reflashes your boot recovery to TWRP, works for me when i got the same error.

Thanks for this. I just ended up back on a (brand new, mind you) G2. I've had SO many problems with rooting, recovery, download mode, etc... I have TWRP installed, stock ROM and somehow ended up getting the secure boot error only when entering download mode. My phone was booting, recovery was working, etc - just download mode seemed toasted. AutoRec fixed it - so, thanks for posting this!
I had the same issue, if some of you want to know how I fixed it these steps might help you too...
What you need is :
Any versoin of stock kdz. I used 11a. GET FROM HERE
LG Universal drivers. Get them here
If you have verizon get your driver here
KDZ Flash tool. GET IT HERE
1- Power off your phone completely ... remove battery etc...
2- Plug the UsB cable to your phone and your computer.
3- Hold down volume up and power button and enter in the download mode
4- If you in download mode you can now flash any KDZ file using the method in one of the guide above or find it using google.
after flashing you will have the stock rom installed. I was on 4.2 and for some reason i was not able to root with "ioroot" until i updated to 4.4!
so make sure you are on 4.4 to do the root
later you can install any recovery. I installed autorec.apk and then booted into recovery and flashed latest version of twrp
thats about it.... but don't install MIUI that rom is stupid

have you try vol down + power button ( LG Logo ) then Hold Vol down + Power ? till you get to factory reset ! and power key again will take you back to recovery
WOW! Thank You soooooooooooooo much! I flashed a cloudyg3 backup from VK Rom and got this error but this method worked!
Just download AutoRec and choose to flash TWRP. Worked for me.
I have LG G2 vzw VS980. I was following this thread to try and install twrp.....now my phone won't boot, it flashes the LG splash screen for 1 second then goes blank, this repeats when power button is pressed.
Tried to attach via USB and the computer sees about 15 different removable disks and gives prompts to format them all.
Not sure what happened, but i can't get into the phone in any way shape or form!!
This is the thread i was following.....I tried to push it via adb but that wasn't working, so i tried to flash it with flashify and i think that is what has me borked....

I've followed instructions in from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6p/general/guides-how-to-guides-beginners-t3206928 and flashed the supersu from the recovery without reading not to flash. Now I'm stuck at the google splash screen. Is there anyone willing to lend a hand on how to recover from this?

Given the fact that you are a senior member. I am assuming you tried to start over again? If not get back to bootloader moder using the power and volume keys and start over.

Thanks for your reply. Of course, I've tried to start over with step 9 and end up with an android lying on its back with a red yield sign. I had tried to restore a back up with no luck. Could you help me out? I am very lost at this point.

Not sure, what did you try to flash. But download a copy of Factory image and start over.
Turn off your device, download mini adb. reboot into fastboot and select flashall from the factory image
Hey guys, I've done as much searching for something like this I could and have had no luck.
So I successfully unlocked the bootloader and tried to install twrp, since then I am stuck in a fastboot loop with the occasional screen telling me my software is destroyed. I only have access to a macbook air. Can someone point me in the right direction please? also installing windows on the laptop isn't an option for me. I'm stuck, Please help.

Wait. Calm down. Can you boot to twrp? Can you go to fasboot screen? Or it keeps rebooting?
The screen is probably saying system is destroyed, no?
If you can go to twrp or fasboot you can reflash a stock rom, even on crapy Mac

Thank you! when pressing vol- and power OR vol+ and power it goes to fastboot. it says system destroyed when I only press power. I dont believe TWRP ever installed.
