Phone screen blank/black after replacing LCD - Hardware Hacking General

Okay, so I have a Photon Q 4G LTE and for a while, my phone's screen would flicker and die sometimes. Then it eventually just went dead and the backlight still comes on, but it's a blank/black screen. I replaced the LCD and I'm still having the same problem, so I'm kinda stumped on what it could be. Any suggestions? Ideas or thoughts?

It could be a chip for display or flex cable. It could be also power chip not working well, having faulty power to the lcd.

Backlight Replacement

My buds Droid 2 back light doesn't work anymore as well as the touch screen digitizer. Is the back light in the LCD itself or is that a seperate part? I told him I would fix it and I need to know what to order.
I'm having a similar issue, My wife got the phone wet, so we dried it out. That part went well....
Well she got a new phone, and I put the Droid 2 in a draw, and recently found it again, deciding to look it over, I charged it up, turn it on.
Here is what problems it has, No Backlight on the LCD display, No LED Nofication lights, No keyboard lights, No Digitizer touch.
The phone boots and works, sounds work, OS is intact and under a flashlight I can see the screen.
my question is does the ribbon cable control all of these? or are the seperate problems?

[Q] Backlight only when turning HD2 on, no picture

So this was my first breakdown of a phone...my brother gave me an HD2 with a non-responsive digitizer, everything else seemed to work just fine.
I disassembled it, accidently tearing the flex cable after it gets thin and goes to the volume buttons. Anyway...I replaced the digitizer...thinking I could just modify the volume via software controls, and stupid me had previously set the hd2 to boot into magicdlr always when the phone turned on. So when I turned on the phone I couldn't do anything because it would boot into magicdlr and I had no volume buttons to scroll up and down, and the option selected was boot into windows which was not on the phone (only cm7 was at this time).
Anyway...after getting a replacement flex cable, and reassembling everything, I couldn't get the lcd to work. Backlight would light up, but no picture, no sound, just a vibrate and the backlight turning on. I tore it down, triple checked all the connections, and still the same thing
So I tried a seperate lcd assembly, tripled checked all connections, and still same issue as the above paragraph, backlight but nothing else when I try to power on. I also retried the old flex cable (the one without the volume connector) and that didn't make a difference either.
My only guess is that I messed up the lcd connector on the mainboard, even though it doesn't look visibly damaged in anyway. Does anybody have any other ideas/suggestions?? I would love to get this up and running as its been my first smartphone project...I've done lots of works on desktops and laptops but never smartphones.

This is my suspicion too!Even not visible at first sight, try again with a magnifier!
Good luck!

Help. Atrix screen won't turn on

My Atrix's screen randomly stopped displaying anything. You can see that the backlight turns on and off but nothing ever displays. The screen isn't physically damaged and the touch sensor is also functioning just fine. If I plug it into my Lapdock - I can use the phone with no issues, I'll just never get any sort of display on the cellphone's screen (Outputs to Lapdock's screen just fine).
Any ideas or suggestions?
are you able to adjust screen settings when you're on lapdock? (and does this change anything?)
It does sound a hardware issue with your screen... maybe others on here can offer more help
Just tried playing around with the settings - no luck
Do you think maybe the display cable somehow disconnected? I'm not sure how the Atrix is designed but I think you'd normally have a separate cable for backlight, touch, and display. Maybe I'll try disassembling it and report back.

Powers on but no display?

Hi guys, I picked up a 1st gen 8GB Nexus 7 from eBay, it was sold as faulty (they said it doesn't power on) it does actually power on, Windows 7 connects and i can access the storage and i can hear my finger presses on the screen so i know it's powered on and the digitizer is working however there is no display whatsoever, i have taken the back off and reseated the battery connection and all ribbon cables to the digitizer / LCD assembly and nothing, the LCD looks immaculate there are no fractures or bleeding, absolutely no signs of damage yet it just stays black? I suspect the short ribbon cable to the LCD is at fault but before i order a replacement is there anything else you guys can think of?

Screen replaced, problem when blocking screen

Bought a screen on ebay, took it to a friend that replaced it soo bad that he even cracked it.
Other than that the screen is ok.
But there is a problem when I block the screen pressing the power button, after pressing it again to resume what I was doing it won't turn on.
I mean, it turns on but with stripes and lines black and white.
Initially is all black, then it turn slowly white. the touch digitizer is working but the lcd has serious problems.
Turning completely off the phone reset this.
Someone can help me find out what it can possibly be?
Some wrong contacts?
Thanks so much
Did you fix it?
My D802 after two years of display replacement, started to perform laggy and I can't unlock the screen once it is locked. I can see a low white light in the background but the display dont turn on.
