Bought a screen on ebay, took it to a friend that replaced it soo bad that he even cracked it.
Other than that the screen is ok.
But there is a problem when I block the screen pressing the power button, after pressing it again to resume what I was doing it won't turn on.
I mean, it turns on but with stripes and lines black and white.
Initially is all black, then it turn slowly white. the touch digitizer is working but the lcd has serious problems.
Turning completely off the phone reset this.
Someone can help me find out what it can possibly be?
Some wrong contacts?
Thanks so much
Did you fix it?
My D802 after two years of display replacement, started to perform laggy and I can't unlock the screen once it is locked. I can see a low white light in the background but the display dont turn on.

I just replaced the screen on my T-Mobile Wing.......but after turning on the phone the screen wont turn on...i thought maybe i didnt plug it in right so i did it about 3 times and no luck....I just put my old screen back on and it works fine...could it be defective? or something i gotta do to the new screen before plugging it in?
OK so I got it to work.......but the screen has a slight yellow tint to it.....is that how its supposed to look? (I got the screen from ebay)
My LCD screen broke so I replaced it and connected everything the way it should be. I then tried to turn it on and it doesn't show anything. When holding the power button for 3 seconds, the screen turns on showing a light gray color then it blacks out. My phone works as I tried to call it and it rang however I can't pick up (not because the digitizer is broken) but because I can't see anything. Any suggestions would help.
I have the same problem, *bump*
any help would be appreciated! Thanks!
Hi,
Unfortunately, I have broken my phone accidentally. What I mean by this is that the screen under the glass cover is cracked and won't show any image. The S4 i9505 is on and working but the screen remains black. When I press the lock button and home key button, the light for the back and options button at the bottom of the phone next to the home button light up but not the screen. I know that there's a crap on the screen under the glass protector but why does the lights turn on? Is that the digitizer which is broken or the LCD screen. I'm really clueless. Someone please assist me and tell me where I can find a really cheap replacement please! I've checked eBay and it costs a ton!
Cheers.
It costs a ton...........and a half (£150).Buying cheaper stuff can lead to false economy/disaster.

if theres no crack on the actual screen then it could be a loose wire inside the phone. go in a dark room and see if the screen backlight is lit when you wake the phone
A few weeks ago, my Galaxy S4 screen started flickering green and it would go back to normal when I would put the phone to sleep. Then yesterday, the screen went completely dead. The vibration motor, button backlights, speaker, and notification lights are responsive, also, I can feel the phone vibrating when I unlock my phone indicating that the touch screen does indeed work. The screen remains completely black through all processes, bootup, recovery, download mode, all black. Can anyone help me with where to begin in the repair process? My gut feeling is that it's the GPU.. is that possible? Is it the digitzer? I appreciate any advice as I have no warranty. :crying:
My guess would be that you need to replace the lcd.

Even I think your Digitizer went bad.
Press Thanks if I helped
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4 via XDA app.
So I just replaced the LCD/digitizer/frame of my G2 and for some reason now the screen doesn't show anything. When I turn on the phone the screen lights up but it stays black. Is this a bad lcd or is it bad connecting/wiring on my part?
Here is a video to show what is going on

I am not sure if you can see it but when I touch the screen, it recognizes my touch and has that "lighting effect" similar to when you touch the screen of a cracked phone.
Bump, I'm desperate for help
I guess no one has an idea?
