So I just replaced the LCD/digitizer/frame of my G2 and for some reason now the screen doesn't show anything. When I turn on the phone the screen lights up but it stays black. Is this a bad lcd or is it bad connecting/wiring on my part?
Here is a video to show what is going on

I am not sure if you can see it but when I touch the screen, it recognizes my touch and has that "lighting effect" similar to when you touch the screen of a cracked phone.
Bump, I'm desperate for help
I guess no one has an idea?

Hi,
Recently ive repaired a HTC Universal, put it back together as best as i could.
Now when i do touch the screen with a stylus, the screen has funny colours behind it. It kind of like when you touch/ prod your Computer LCD. It only happens when theres pressure on the screen so its not really a huge problem. The touch screen is definately there cause when i tap the screen it responds (e.g i tap start and the menu pops down).
If its normal then i can take it, but if its not im complaining to the ebay seller.
This doesent happen when i put any form of pressure on my HTC magician LCD, so im curious.
Let me know what happens with your universal
Cheers,
Whitemoo.
This is not normal behaviour of any touchscreen device!!
hmmm... well i just looked at the broken lcd screen, and even though the LCD itself is shattered, the touch screen is in perfect nick.
I put pressure on the touch screen and couldnt see any of the symptoms i saw on my current LCD
You guys recon i should swap the touch screen over? either way im complaining to the sellers, DODGY.
whitemoo.
from my knowledge, im pretty sure its normal. it happens sometimes on my 9000 so yeahh....
I have recently replaced a broken screen of an apache with a new one and when i turn it on the screen turns on and is white, when I look at it side on I can see the devices screen is working but it is faded, e.g the today screen is there but very faded.
I was wondering what could be the problem?
moisture shorted out the screen
I just replaced the screen on my T-Mobile Wing.......but after turning on the phone the screen wont turn on...i thought maybe i didnt plug it in right so i did it about 3 times and no luck....I just put my old screen back on and it works fine...could it be defective? or something i gotta do to the new screen before plugging it in?
OK so I got it to work.......but the screen has a slight yellow tint to it.....is that how its supposed to look? (I got the screen from ebay)
Hi
I have changed a broken screen. the glass was broken but the monitor and touch was working. I bought a complete new screen with the digitizer and lcd in one part. I have then mounted everything back together. On the first boot i then just got a lot of pixelmosaic on the screen.
The phone seems to boot as it should as the pixels change and after a while it goes dark. and i then can turn it on, and it also dims and "works". but not a picture...
Could this be a US screen? The seller told me it was for the european version.
If it's US then the screen should have a t-mobile logo at the top.
Well it has a HTC brand.. so I guess that is not it then.
Is it most likely the screen that is broken then? or the phone it self? I would guess the screen is feed trough the IC on the screen....
Bought a screen on ebay, took it to a friend that replaced it soo bad that he even cracked it.
Other than that the screen is ok.
But there is a problem when I block the screen pressing the power button, after pressing it again to resume what I was doing it won't turn on.
I mean, it turns on but with stripes and lines black and white.
Initially is all black, then it turn slowly white. the touch digitizer is working but the lcd has serious problems.
Turning completely off the phone reset this.
Someone can help me find out what it can possibly be?
Some wrong contacts?
Thanks so much
Did you fix it?
My D802 after two years of display replacement, started to perform laggy and I can't unlock the screen once it is locked. I can see a low white light in the background but the display dont turn on.
