Good Bye for ever!!

Dear Members,
Its almost a month today and till now i have visited almost all the repair centre here in Mumbai finding a solution for my dead prophet.
To by hard luck the NEO is not being rectified!!!

It must likely be truly dead, seeing as you've tried all the repair shops, but I thought I'd type this out anyway, as I just saw some of your old post on the topic to do with "I got into boot loader by connecting wires directly to battery pins and now reflashing"

1. Take ur phone and put it on ur table =)
2. Turn it so u can see the camera
3. On the right u see 6 Pins.
4. The Pin 1 is nearest to Camera
5. Pin 5 would be far away from camera.

How r u dude..I m currently using an old nOKIA 3315
YES i did tried the charger trick ...dint help.Any other trick..
Well I think i shall give one last shot with this trick.(my phone is still in service stn i have to collect it yet)
The repair guy told me that there is some problem with the "POWER IC"..
He told me it will be repaired at a cost of around Rs3500 i.e around 87~88US$.
I agreed to go ahead for repairs and than next day I called him ..
To my horror he said it cant be repaired as he is not able to find the spares..
He told me the entire board needs to be repalced at a price of Rs.17000.00
i.e.425 US $ .I had bought the phone for 2000Rs (500$)
And I had told him not to repair n here i m with a dead neo.

well you should try a fully charged battery of another prophet user like me ,or may be pass me your permanent cell number privately. if this works and you enter bootloader mode and then format wm5 nvid and swear not to touch rom's again . service centre guy scare you off ,its policy wise correct they charge double the amount for battery Rs2500 which u get for Rs1200 at other places . i can understand your pain cause i lost my ipod mini same way , i think battery is culprit here .don't loose hope.but if you have connected reverse terminals then you might have burnt it already.

To my surprise when I bought the phone from repairs and put the phone to the wall charger the NEO the batt LED just turned RED and than went off after a few seconds...

can any one tell me what is POWER IC.
the service guy told me its the problem with power IC.
The estimation was around 90$.
But later informed me that part is not available any where on the planet earth...
and the entire board needs to be changed.and guess what he told the estimation "A COOL 425$"
i have some doubt :
why is the spares so expensive??
If the spares are not available than why does HTC manufacture such a phone.
SHAME ON HTC for making such a fragile phone..for which they cannt provide service.
I m as a profession here in INDIA working for a japan based co manufacturing hometheater..we do service the set which are not introduced here in INDIA (obvious at a premium) but it does not cost the set itself.
I think most of you will agree with me on this.
(pls second the motion if u guys agree.)
any ways mean while i mailed HTC but no use i dint get any respond from their side.
I think the company willnever pay attention for a petty issue like mine.
But its admin and moderators guys of the forum who if put a word with the company will take some measures.

New HD2 dead HELP..PLS

I only had it for about 4 days that I got from online unlock and was flashing the rom with "RUU_Leo_HTC_WWE_1.43.405.1_Radio_Signed_15.26.50.07U_2.04.50_22_2_Ship" it went thru the process and said done but when it boot back up it lock on the boot screen. I pull the batt and now no power on the phone or can hoot to the cpu it a "T-Mobile ver hd2. Thanks for your help..

Well hate to break the news but you flashed a rom for the Leo aka the Euro HD2. You just ruined your brand new phone. Hope you have insurance. Next time read up first before you flash.

I readed the infor on the web site before updated it and it said it was for the phone but guess that a losed for me now....this the web site it came from "//htcpedia.com/news/official-htc-hd2-wm6_5-rom".

Sorry to be harsh, but if you could not find a thread, that is that obvious, then why did you even attempt to flash the phone??
It does take some technical knowledge of the phone before you start screwing with them ..
You flashed a Stock HTC EU rom to your TMO US phone ....
If you had done ANY reading about your phone you would have found that the two are different phones , they look alike but they ARE different ...
Now Yes I am trying to piss you off, if you get mad you will go find the stuff yourself and learn it ...
We are here to help , the info is all over the site, but we cannot do it for you ...
So don't cry when people laugh at you for pulling a bonehead move ....

Hey you need to look back over the message I never said I couldn't find it on this site..but think you for the info.

Well send the phone back to HTC after 1 1/2 week got it back today but the phone is lock now...call them to let them know and they will give me the code have to check back in two days...but I have it back work is the big thing...

If you're wanting to make it stock again I'd suggest you get the the rom from the link provided. The IMEI code can be found on the back of the box that HD2 came in.

The phone hasn't even been out for a year and manufacturs warranty is a year. For HTC this is a simple fix as hooking up a jtag programmer and just flashing a new bootloader. 1st step is to walk into your tmo store you bought it from *****ing up a storm your lawyer dad just bought you that phone and he's pissed and wants them to replace it. Since you said you bought it from some unlock online place?????, weird you would buy the phone previously unlocked then come here to play with roms when you could of skipped all those steps and bought one on CL for $250 and paid $4 on ebay for an unlock code. Ok that being said option 2 if you bought it from a fly by night online company is to directly contact HTC begging them to flash a new bootloader for you and restore the phone to factory condition. Tell them you bought it from a store and make your own bs receipt to send in. 3rd option is to break the phone up and sell it off. The LCD and Digi will bring in $130 easy, case and battery will bring in $40-$50, buttons, mic, and radio chip, $50, then go buy a new one on CL for $250. Hope this helps you more hten the previous posts. But essesially they are right, you flashed a rom for a different phone to yours and now you phone thinks its a Euro HD2 and when it tries to fire up nothing connected to the right pins and it failing. If we had a pin out for the chip or epprom we may be able to fix this but I would imagine its going to require resoldering on a new epprom.

Is my Htc Hd2 bricked?

Hello.. i tried to flash official stock rom via sd card method and it said update failed and then i had to take the abttery out. When i try to power the htc hd2 on it vibrates 7 or 8 times and doesn't do anything. no boot no anything. So is it bricked? if so can i repair it somewhere? Please i need it to work..

If no bootloader... Then sorry you phone is bricked... It can be fixed by doing a reinstall of bootloader. And radio using jtag... Google it.. Or search on the ebay you will get it

But im not a technician to know that kind of ****..... Do you think there are stores taht wiill fxi this for me? or not? or do i have to put my htc hd2 in the trashcan? I need just a little bit more information.. please

You could probably take it somewhere, but it's expensive and I think it's difficult to find.
If you can't, then you just have an expensive paperweight

take the battery out, make sure the pins in the phone arent bent and then put the battery back in after 30 minutes
hold the down volume button as you turn it on if it still doesnt work you would need to take it toa shop that has a jtag device to fix the issue

there are quite many shops ...you can search on ebay ...and send yor phone to them ...they will fix it and return ...maybe google for a shop near you ..there is also a member in this forum who owns a jtag ...ask mskip for his name ..i have forgotten
if you hd2 failed updating itself ...i would be scared ...cuz it could mean that you have quite a bit of bad bocks in the radio section ..so just check it out ...if you have warranty ..then try to claim it ..tell them that you were updating(mention updating from pc ...not sd card) and it failed in the middle with this error
and 7 short vibrates also point to a hardware problem ...better go to htc and get it checked out ..or O2

Sorry for my english but it's not my first language, even not second, so apologies.
So my problem... i don't like to post and don't post so much but i'm here every day. I have some devices and i love flashing and trying every new rom. I'm not a noob and nor dev. Just a simple user who's second life everyday is xda.
I just want to know if my HD2 is bricked or not. So the phone do not boot up, screen do not turn on, button backlight, or charging led. Nothing. It was installed with magldr. First i was thinking that battery was dead and with magldr do not charge and that's why do not boot. But no... today i have bought from somebody a docking charger with spare battery charger and 2 batteries. No luck. I have disassembled my leo and took a look in it. If i try to turn on i see that the vibration motor turns on for a half of second and than nothing happens.
I'ts not so very big problem if it is bricked (while i have a DHD, an SE xperia neoV, an asus tf101g, and next week i will buy a galaxy nexus too) but i don't want to take it in box if it can be bringed back to life. I just want to know what can cause this , if somebody knows what can i try feel free to answer.
P.S. no do not boots in bootloader also. Last time was installed with android via magldr, no OC, and all happend when i was driving my car using navigation on it. Simply turned off. It seem like the bootloader was deleted or don't know. Also battery pins checked. It can be defective mainboard or what???

Yeah i agree with you but then why is vibration motor moving? Also i know that it doesn't matter but i have the original car charger from htc, and the phone was not plugged in, battery was at starting the navigation app at about 80% and after 10 minutes was the phone dead.

a few times on both by hd2's, I've come across a situation where some app/process hangs, the phone freezes or becomes really sluggish, and the phone starts to get hot at the bottom on the back. I always pull teh battery smartish, but perhaps yours did the same, and it burned itself out. Its well known that the hd2 suffers from heat.
Perhaps give the freezer trick a go, see what happens.

I think thats just some kind of myth. I bet I have flashed my HD2 OVER 150 times, a lot of experimenting of windows mobile, and later went on to Android. I did have a problem with a HD2 to vibrate 5/7 times and then freeze, in any way. Even when I flashed. I had trouble booting it too, but removing the battery for 30 minutes worked.

I think too that the flashing limit is just a myth. I was flashing roms more than 300times and with no issues. My Leo was a survivor two times made bath and even after was fully functioning. Last months i was using just for gps and playing with roms.
If i can't fix it i want to give it for somebody from hd2 forums. If you are near Gütersloh in germany and you were contributing with something for Hd2 community feel free contact me and i will give you for free. No shipment because i can't send it, but if you are from other country and you have somebody that can send it to you tell him to come here contact me and we will see what we can do. There is the phone, 3batteries, docking station with one extra place for battery charge, original and silicon case.
I WANT TO WAIT ONE WEEK FROM NOW IF I CAN'T FIX IT I WILL TELL YOU AND EVERYBODY CAN CONTACT ME. REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE A DEV OR THEMER BECAUSE I WON'T GIVE IT FOR EVERYDAY USER WHO DID NOTHING FOR THE COMMUNITY. I CAN'T DONATE, LET THIS BE MY DONATION.

There is two possible causes i can think of.
and btw: the flashing counter is not a myth. the Chip counts the number of flashes. But i don't think it has a kill switch. That is bull****. It's just for HTC to tell how often it was flashed and judge what users did to it.

Source? Never heard of this before. (Also, surely only ruu based flashes would register, the firmware wouldn't see android flashes, so it would be a hugely incorrect figure)

Hi Samsamuel,
good question. It is something i came across recently when my device got killed and i bought a new one with a brick. I did a lot of research (tried to find a way to get rid of the brick myself) but since the mentioning of the counter was something of little interest to me at the time i didn't take note of where i read it. It might be only HearSay and not be a proven fact, additionally, i was thinking the same about the RUU flashes and the android flashes. Most likely only the RUU flashes are counted. Maybe the part of the chip that holds the clocks for call time counting also holds a flash counter? Something i find a reasonable assumption. Further, i read about it in the environment of the whole jtag-programming world where i think i came across a page stating that their programming box resets the flash counters. i can't remember if that was the RIFF box or some other lesser known box. The RIFF box at last does not seem to feature it if i look it up now.
So, long story short, it might also just be a marketing gag for those believing in the Myth of a killswitch. As i said, i don't believe that but think flash counters aren't that far off reality and to answer your question: i cannot prove it. I just read it somewhere.

Ok here is a random search results collection of threads with similar issues related to overheating and broken solder Points on the CPU. You can read through them to get an idea of whats coming up to you.

And here the Help i can offer you for the scenario where your HD2 is "just" a brick - which is way more easy to fix! This is the Guy who successfully unbricked my HD2:

BIG RED HINT: This guy has just bought himself an Infrared soldering station which could be used to re-solder the BGA connections for the CPU if them are broken! Read more about it on Link 3 up above. That dude is MASSIVE! Respect for his work is the word of the day! If you ask that guy with the soldering station he might be interested in doing a try on your device. He's learning, you are gaining if he succeeds. If he doesn't he still learned something and you helped the community by making him smarter
And there is another one in Austria who knows more about the Device and the possibilities and he was the first one ever to mention a HTC WhiteCard (for real, i searched the net and didn't find that term anywhere), i have never heard of that before but it seems to be a universal sim card that can set any HTC device S-OFF and according to that dude it costs a sum with 5 digits and he got one. It does exactly the same as the XTC Clip. amazing story anyhow , he is called Harald Kubovy and can be contacted here: Entsperren.net
Why did i not choose him? Further away, longer wait, 5 euros more. But he seemed to know A LOT.
And one last note: i don't think it is necessary for you to come over to my place as i cannot directly help you. I am not the kinda guy who fixes hardware. I fiddle around with software a lot and i am VERY tempted to buy a RIFF Box but then again i wouldn't really know how to work it and it costs quite a sum and then it sits here and i cannot use it effectively to get my money back out of it so i'd rather not toy around with it. BUT i can let you have all my research knowledge from my own desaster last week. Read above.

I have exactly the same problem as you, I turned off my phone and since then It just wont turn back on no charging light nothing except a small vibrate for half a second when I remove the battery and reinsert it.

Read my post above yours. If you happen to be in Germany contact the Ebay guy I linked to. He's good and your phone probably is just bricked. Happens sometimes.
If you are not in Germany I recommend searching your local Ebay for someone who does JTAG repairs. Or check for the search term "riff box" and "jtag".

tried so many kernels nothing works ( all the kernels made my note 3 lag and get hot and i mean so hot feels like its burning
gonna try to change the rom just downloaded X-note V20 and gonna install their kernel also and i wish it will work ill post if anything works
untill next update im gonna try everything with whatever kernel there is its killing me i need to make the front camera works ( thinking of burning the whole device i swear its driving me insane )
i know its not a hardware issue cause it used to work randomly ( when i clear catch and force close it used to work but randomly which means other times its not working )
so anyone with any idea what so ever i dont care just tell me even if it is simple or stupid idea its ok im willing to try anything

anywayz im from middle east ( Kuwait ) and i bought my international note 3 n9005 after a month or two from the release date
im having a terrible problem since the day i got my note 3
the front camera wont start
keyboard wont change language
i dont care that much about the keyboard i could use any other keyboard app my real problem is the front camera
when ever i start the start the front camera the app freeze and its blank and when i hit the capture button it says " server error occured. restart camera "
i tried alot of things to solve this problem but couldnt ...
already rooted ... using custom rom " AUDAX ROM v10 " before that i used X-note
it used to work one every couple of days but since 2 month " or more " ago its not working at all
tried flashing stock rom
tried wiping data
tried different apps
nothing works
after posting this thread im going to trip knox " i dont really need knox !! " and flash a kernel ... if it works im goin to update my thread if it did not work then i would really appreciate any help
any idea anything will do just tell me what to do and im goin for it its really makin me crazy
ps : im not willing to use 8 mp instead of 12 .. if im using the camera im gonna use it fully like there is nothing wrong "

sorry if i took too long to reply but i was trying the app on different kernels nothing works .... i know the hardware is fine because it use to work randomely but i dont know what is causing this app to act this way im dying to find one

Before tripping Knox why don't you flash stock firmware and take the phone back to Samsung to get it replaced ? You do know Samsung smartphones ship with 24month warranty ? i know you said hardware is fine but it sounds like it is a hardware problem to me.. As you have tried different kernels nothing works it's hardware not software... i could be wrong but try Samsung service center...

well you might be right as im thinkin of it different kernels and still no luck so its a highly a hardware but since all kernels did not work as they supposed to i thought it might be rom related issue !! im still backing up my data and gonna try the new X-note V20 with their kernel " wish me luck "
well thats a good idea about taking the device to samsung the only problem is samsung company where i live in they suck and i do mean it ...
for example when i called to ask for their nearest location they said they dont support samsung smart phone ( huh !! but they are samsung device's ) they replied with there is another company thats handling the smart phones ... in my country ( Kuwait ) the repair shop is better than the companies and the repair shop dont know anything you dont ,,, most of them learned from the internet ... ( there are alot good repair shop but their too expensive ) im not gonna pay 75% of the device price just to fix the camera ... i would buy a new device !!
so a warranty means nothing i know it sucks but thats the true looooooolz
last reason for not doin that is
i wanna do fix anything i own myself i dont wanna depend on any repair shop or anything ....
anywayz im greatly thankful for your reply that made me think its hardware issue ... i might search for front camera part now if their cheap in amazon im gonna buy one and lets hope i dont blow up the device looooolz

Dude I know the centers suck they do the same thing here in the UK, Samsung don't handle the repair themselves third party deal with it. i had a issue with a galaxy note they replaced it with a new one within 7 days so it's not a long wait try here http://www.samsung.com/ae/support/servicelocation
And if you feel like replacing the front camera yourself ebay or Amazon are the best for parts by the way have you ever dropped your galaxy note 3 ??

no never dropped it its always in my hand or pocket i use it almost all the time ......... i didnt fix my note 3 when i went the last time to samsung because under the warranty i still have to pay half the price .... and thats about 25% from new note 3 when it was released come on i can buy the module for 5 usd or 20 usd but im not gonna pay more than 50 KD ( 50 Kuwait Dinar = about 180 usd ) and still gonna wait from 7 to 10 working days !!! i mean come on im not gonna do it ... id rather break my device than doin this !!! samsung sucks in kuwait

i dont know how to read the log cat no matter how many times i read them i still cant figure out anything nor understand .... but i might find a hint

That's a bit stupid you have to pay for warranty what kind of warranty is that ? Here in the UK we pay nothing not one penny warranty means manufacture pays for everything not end user.. Anyway can you paste the logcat to pastebin so i can take a look ? i'm no pro but there are some android pros on here they might be able to help?

hmmm i really wish to but the problem is i used logcat once and i dont even know how to record it ... if u could point me at a thread that might help me how to take a logcat and send it to others ...
im kinda new to log cat ive always loved tweaking but just now trying to learn how to build an app and be in play store but couldnt find a hint so far !!! well im still searching and i think if i kept on searching im bound to find out
all big names has great warranty ( without paying anything ) but samsung sony and few more use this kinda of stupid warranty .. dunno y yet
anywayz if i could find out how to give u a log cat ill try to whether your an expert or not ur still gonne be better than me and u might find out if its hardware or software to make sure

well that was one of the first test i made with my note 3
it shows as soon as i hit front camera
" warning
camera failed "
i even tried those test apps ( some of them are pretty useful ) the front camera always fail or crash or freeze
but dunno why in some weird test apps they show as its working normally although its a blank screen !!!!
gonna attach a picture ... im searching around for log cat how to if i learned how im gonna post it in here ...
im thinkin of buying couple or camera replacement just in case their like 5 to 10 usd ... you'll never imagine how a first rate clone/fake camera price here ... imagine oem front camera .... man their really sucking people of every little bit of money they have loooolz

Dude i doubt it very much you would able to install a Front facing Note 4 camera on a Note 3 for starters the connectors wouldn't most likely fit, And the camera might not be able to sit correctly in side the phone you can try but i can guarantee you will be wasting money time and money...

hey there been long time ... sorry about that but been busy plus my laptop suddenly freaked out and wont boot .... just installed win 8.1 enterprise
i hated windows for long time but dude win 8 is totally amazing ....
anywayz i fixed the camera it turned out to be a hardware issue ... i went to buy some cases for my phone and couple of chargers when i saw a small repair shop with friendly lookin workers so i asked them how much will they take for changing the front camera and the price just was too perfect to be true .... i said to my self im gonna order the repair kit and their price is too good they so i gave him my note 3 and after buying couple of cases it was done ... their work was flawless absolutely perfect and they ask for the real price not some high prices like ever other shop

im struggling with the keyboard thingy
it wont change langauge the space bar wont move dunno why
also im trying to learn how to build apps

have you try downloading the correct dictionary for your lang in the keyboard settings? it wont show up in the spacebar if you dont have it ticked in the settings.

thanks bad boy but i already tried that
tried updating the language in keyboard setting my main language english ( us ) and my 2nd language arabic tried to disable both of them and then updating them also didnt work
i dunno what is wrong with it !!! tried disabling all the xposed stuff and still nothing
downloaded alot of extra language and still no luck
any hints will help alot
also i tried to search the build prob and couldnt figure out which is for the keyboard loooolz

the keyboard has been fixed by itself i didnt install or do anything at all i was too busy to to even touch the phone
the sad part is
the stupid front camera stopped working !!!!!!!!!
it works once or twice ( maximum ) everyday !!! i dunno whats wrong it work randomly loooool
this camera and keyboard driving me crazy i swear im goin crazy !!!!!
