I was able to get some information from Viewsonic via a direct message on twitter. Please understand, that if you ask Viewsonic about this publicly, they will more than likely deny it:

Cool.... I'll start on the ubuntu ROM....
Um why not just make it public? Things like this make me wonder...
Really hope this is legit! Then the fun can really get started!
what does this mean? does it mean the kernel will be unlocked and we can overclock? or use the 2nd core?

It means that they are going to release the Kernel Source and we can compile our own kernels.

TnT and VEGAn are both using the 2nd core as far as the devs know.

Does this mean we could finally get a "stock" Android build, with Market and everything integrated?

Market is typically disabled on all non-phone or non-3G devices by Google. That's why we have to hack a fix to make it work. Google has stated many times that they do not want marketplace on any non-phone or non-3G capable device. That might change with Android 3.0, but for now, we're stuck hacking the fix.
Ooh please let this be true. Kernel source + Froyo AOSP would make me a VERY happy camper. For that matter kernel source + TnT Lite or VEGAn would make me just as happy!

Well, that remains true as of right now.
However, barnes and noble are supposedly releasing a 2.2 + market update to their nook color in january. and for $250. that is a hell of a good deal.
I have also seen people saying they have the market and then come to find out. they didnt have it legally. but i dont thing a big wig like barnes and noble would do that.
it would seem that google is easing up on its market access. realizing that we have tablets now. and we want to fully utilize them now. not whenever 3.0 comes out.
AC had an article that the Nook won't be getting market after all, but will get 2.2.
Anyway this is great news!

The Nook will be getting a "market" but it will not be the Google Market. It will be like what Viewsonic provided for the G-Tab.

Hopefully there are some developers willing to try to port it over to kindle fire.

Any thoughts on if you guys would want it? I know I do!!
I have been trying the past few days to make a port from source but I don't know how to code and the code wont fully download.
If anybody else wants to try, please do cause I really want it ParanoidAndroid on my device here.

My limited knowledge of Paranoid Android leads me to ask - why do you want it on the Tf?
Isn't it designed to give a tablet like experience on phones?
As well made as it is, I wasn't overly keen on the whole tiny u.i on my sgs2.
Otherwise I'm not sure what we would be missing out on.
Application-specific DPI settings would make me one happy panda.

Hi, I have actually compiled ParanoidAndroid 2.12 jellybean rom for the tf101... is a big buggy, but you're welcome to try it...
Just need to try a couple more things to sort out a couple of bugs...
btw, I'm not a developer, and just started compiling, so it will not be perfect at any stage...

could be interesting. woud be nice to see if any of our other devs would be interested in helping you to iron out the imperfections and take it forward.
Always nice to have an extra rom to mess with
Quick yes or no ? for you......dock supported?

Yes - dock is supported... Well, at least it was working for me last night... Don't have a large SD card to test on it, but it should work (as i'm using the same device tree as others)...
As stated earlier, this is my first proper build (running a CM10 build on my phone, not released though). It would be nice to get others to help, at the moment, ADB doesn't work, everything I have tested is working, including Paranoid Settings... None of my builds seems to have ADB, so i do need to look into that!
As there seems to be enough interest, I think I will open a thread later - will link to it here though so you can all see it!
nice - look forward to it.:good:
Please make this happen

I agree, just check the forum every day for any news about it. Dont make your own thread requesting the ROM.
I've actually been working on this... I just have to say cm10.1 NOT READY for KF yet hopefully the amazing Hashcode will brew up a new 3.4 kernel he's been talking about alongside with CM10.1
Be patient. With each new version come challenges for the devs. Many of whom are still working through issues with 4.1. The great devs here will get it out when they can and when they provide a ROM that is up to their high standards.

I usually just port Custom Rom's to devices. Not really port I guess, just have to change the device tree. Do a little bit of kernel stuff to.
I don't consider myself a dev, but I will be getting one of these, once the "Sand" version is available.
I am wondering how much more difficult everything is going to be between Lollipop/SELinux and 64-bit capability.
This will be my first Nexus device as well - closest I've had up to now is running GPE on my M8.
