Any thoughts on if you guys would want it? I know I do!!
I have been trying the past few days to make a port from source but I don't know how to code and the code wont fully download.
If anybody else wants to try, please do cause I really want it ParanoidAndroid on my device here.

My limited knowledge of Paranoid Android leads me to ask - why do you want it on the Tf?
Isn't it designed to give a tablet like experience on phones?
As well made as it is, I wasn't overly keen on the whole tiny u.i on my sgs2.
Otherwise I'm not sure what we would be missing out on.
Application-specific DPI settings would make me one happy panda.

I want it because I like the Nexus 7 UI better and also some companies make better phone apps then they do Tablet versions.

Hi, I have actually compiled ParanoidAndroid 2.12 jellybean rom for the tf101... is a big buggy, but you're welcome to try it...
Just need to try a couple more things to sort out a couple of bugs...
btw, I'm not a developer, and just started compiling, so it will not be perfect at any stage...

Always nice to have an extra rom to mess with

Yes - dock is supported... Well, at least it was working for me last night... Don't have a large SD card to test on it, but it should work (as i'm using the same device tree as others)...
As stated earlier, this is my first proper build (running a CM10 build on my phone, not released though). It would be nice to get others to help, at the moment, ADB doesn't work, everything I have tested is working, including Paranoid Settings... None of my builds seems to have ADB, so i do need to look into that!
As there seems to be enough interest, I think I will open a thread later - will link to it here though so you can all see it!
nice - look forward to it.:good:

Sense is within our reach!!! It has already been ported to Galaxy S i9000 and Samsung Captivate..Us Vibrant owners need ALL the help we can get!! Hell who doesn't want sense on their Vibrant?!?!
I Have been talking to the dev over on that board about porting to the Vibrant, here is what he said:
chiledog said:
Sorry dude, but based on my captivate porting experience, unless a vibrant dev comes forward to make a port. It was just too time consuming and it was taking too much precious time away from the main projects to continue.
I'm not saying we won't eventually make ports for the other devices but you won't see a vibrant port from us in the near future.
By all means get the vibrant devs interested and tell them to pm me and I can tell them everything they need to know to get started but they will need to know how to build cm7, edit the initramfs, and obviously read logcats, dmesg etc.
A linux box is also a must obviously but anyone building cm7 would already know that.
If you have linux installed and you can sucessfully sync with teamhacksung and build cm7 with the kernel you can port this.

No. I think they're using the new radio partitioning in .6, so it needs a new kernel.

one question
i have a question. do you want a port of just all the apps to look like a sense. i mean you can make a 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 all look a sense with all the new sense apps and such but it depends on what you want. if you want the sense gingerbread than thats alot more work. there are alot of options, but you gotta realize that the new sense works off of hardware not found in most phones. sooooo you gotta take that into consideration. but i will look at the 19000 port and see what they changed. im finally gonna start making roms, kinda gettin tired of making my own and not posting them. give me a couple of days and you will have it. but i dont know if i want it 2.3 since theres no gps i dont want it. if you have suggestions i will think about it, and maybe port it. but i wont develop if theres no requests.
edit: please pm me with requests
edit: alot of people dont realize but when a port is brought over its not all the system files that they transfer, all samsung vibrant files are used, so thats why i made a post like this. devs dont create everything themselves and make things work, they keep old files and add stuff to make it like another phone. hence the reason why all roms have a certain base. blah blah blah, sorry been drinking and tired of randomness of roms. pm me if you want this ported the way i do it, which means, framework-apps-some system files into one rom.
Wow, i would love to have Sense on my Vibrant. Hope that someone start working on this...
Would really really be nice, I have two vibrants... one MIUI Thanks Segnaro and I would put Sense on the other one which is currently stock...

Indeed. The devs here are making a great effort to maintain this device alive, and we all appreciate it! Thanks!
Big happenings recently in the Touchpad realm. Touchdroid, one of the groups who was developing Android for the HP Touchpad, has decided to release a dump of their build, along with instructions on how to install it. I have recorded my own installation in hopes that others might benefit from it.
Two things:
1. Please follow the steps listed here http://touch-droid.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2
2. Be aware that this is not the Cyanogenmod version, and there are a few items that are not quite working yet.
Here is the link to the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xhWVmMYquYY
Happy Flashing!
Now, the usual disclaimer: If this bricks your Touchpad.... bummer, dude.
Also, I am aware that an amazing build will eventually be released from Cyanogen. I am excited about this. The touchdroid build is just to tinker with.
:::UPDATE:::
If you want to uninstall this, here is a video explaining how:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKRp3ldtAjU
agreed. Even if their devteam is knowledgeable I will not install their port because of the logs I've read.
Craig
This is the beginning of it all...^^ Android is damn near now... thx!
Please keep in mind that this build is incomplete and buggy. That being the case, this is only recommended to those that care less about the source (we already know all about that) and more about tinkering with it. Use it if you like, but keep the arguments out. Thanks.
Interesting, although its VERY incomplete. I can only surmise that this is a "just to get it out there" kind of thing.

The comments on the video are already entertaining.
People, if you don't have any idea what this is, where it comes from, or why it's being posted..... DON'T INSTALL IT!!!!
If some idiot (me ) puts a video on the intertubes, it does NOT mean that you need to follow it. Watch it, learn from it, but if you don't like the outcome.....DON'T INSTALL IT!!!!!
Also, I total get why people bail from giving even the smallest amount of help to others. Nobody asked me to do this video, I just saw a need for it and made it. And... I'll do it again once cyanogen's stuff comes out for it.
Haters gonna hate, I guess.

How did you go back to previous screen without back button?
Also does anyone know if once the CM version is released the flashing process might be a little easier for the average user? I am not too comfortable with entering commands everywhere. reverend made it look easy because he was obviously familiar with entering command prompts. Either way I will be attempting it, just thought I would ask.

CM's release will be soon enough and will be fool proof. Unless you're reasonably familiar with the Linux terminal and ADB you're probably better off waiting. There's not much properly working on this version. You'll install it, play for ten minutes and them have to go back to waiting for a proper release. This is pre-alpha.

you can see he shot over adb commands
after have following the drama, around the stolen/lost code, I really think people should stop there personal [mod edit], and focus on getting android to the tp. As I see it this, android dump, is touchdrods way of saing: We [mod edit] up, and we are sorry. I also understand that they are stopping the project. So lets all stop the flaming, and wait for the CM, or another teams build! Just my 5 cents
Whats the point of tinkering with the Touchdroid build when the team has disbanded. I would stay away from this build since the CyanogenMod seems to be way ahead of the Touchdroid team anyways.

issent the point, that other teams can see touchdrods build, and use what they can from it. Like small twinks and stuff like that.

Let me first start by saying the rom doesnt boot completely. It boots all the way to when the screen dims and vibrates, when it is about to display lockscreen.. Logcat shows everything installing and starting correctly.. It wasn't hard to get to this stage, so it gave me a little bit of confidence in this awesome project.. Froyo was my favorite android version, as it was a huge upgrade for my old hero.
I thought it would be hilarious to release cm6 for the nexus s, heck I would have run it for the rest of my nexus's lifetime.
So, let me know what you guys think.. keep digging around to get it booting or give up because its old news..
If anyone wants to help for just a fun proof of concept project, or just to poke around, lemme know, the more the merrier

LOL in this time and age running froyo is like going back to xp from windows 7. But yeah as a proof of concept its kind of interesting;-) What would be really interesting, is running gingerbread on the gnx

They are incompatibility. Because Nexus S is the first Gingerbread-device, Androi 2.3.0 is the lowest compatibly OS version.
You also can't install System V(AT&T's Unix system since about 1970) in your computer.

Yes this is true, but the point is that its almost booting.. I knew this from the start, it will require back porting drivers and probably a few kernel edits, but it may be possible.. in the end its just Linux running on a few upgraded drivers and a few kernel changes..

Not without doing some back porting.
This is much easier to do from Gingerbread back to Froyo though, since you are building something to run on the same hardware and software stack (ARM and Android 2.x). The most difficult part would be getting drivers to work, but just as older drivers are made to work on new OS versions with shims and other tricks, in theory this is possible, if not a lot of work.
I'm not sure what will be gained though. Gingerbread didn't seem like a significant resource drain over Froyo, so I can't imagine there are any speed/power gains.

Any links to this? I cannot find anything out this. I wish they would just release a beta or something so that some of us can start cracking out the bugs, very annoying.
The gingerbread version works quite well but clearly is having problems without the hardware acceleration.
Broadcom, have a ICS version with hardware acceleration announced back in July:
http://www.raspberrypi.org/archives/1700
Unfortunately, they've not released anything yet which is a big shame, particularly since the Rev2 boards are packing a 512Mb bit of RAM.
Hopefully they will update us on it!
Also, allowing the GB image to make use of the Rev2.0 512Mb RAM would help a little too.
Here ya go, they put all the source out.

Nexus 9 looks great, will order as soon as it's available. Better screen size, 64bit, and doubletap2wake. A little anxious about Tegra, I never liked the earlier Tegra devices as much as Qualcomm stuff.

Don't worry he will be here
I'm hoping against hope, that the 2nd HTC Nexus device will be as OTA FM radio capable as the Nexus One was.

How different do you think Lolipop will be to build for vs Kitkat. I know Lolipop has alot of security.

I usually just port Custom Rom's to devices. Not really port I guess, just have to change the device tree. Do a little bit of kernel stuff to.
I don't consider myself a dev, but I will be getting one of these, once the "Sand" version is available.
I am wondering how much more difficult everything is going to be between Lollipop/SELinux and 64-bit capability.
This will be my first Nexus device as well - closest I've had up to now is running GPE on my M8.

The bootloader will be unlocked so much will be possible. If you've never had a nexus device you're in for a treat!

Well I thought I'd jump in here and say that this is the device that I'm getting to learn the basis of Java. So I guess I'm like a future dev?
