Hi Mates, mi gf Defy has been auto-rebooting and warming a lot lately untill it completely stop functioning overnight, I had it rooted and rommed, and now that I took it to a 'cell phone repair parlor' I've been told that the main board needs replacement; I've been searching everywhere and couldn't find it.
My question is: does anyone has a Defy (MB525) for selling as parts? I need only the mainboard.
Thank you very much in advance.
Enrique

Why not tell the detailed symptoms here to the experts here before taking it to a repair centre?
perhaps you can find a solution on this great site!
Good luck,

This.
There's a lot of experience here. I've owned an Exec for about half a year and I've learnt so much. Several times I was going to bring it in for repairs but with this forum and my laptop, I did it myself.
Ok, so i tell you how it was,so three months ago i owned my touch and it worked alright for about 2 months, but after that time i read somewhere that i can flash my touch to wm6.1,so i tried to flash it,but when i was unpluging my htc from usb i dropped it on the floor and what i thought something broke inside and it started to hanging on when i tried to use it,so i searched for something that can repair it and what i found was this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=476152 i followed all the steps and when i tried to disconnect the lcd the flex or something like that broke off from behind lcd and when i tried to fix it with normal tape it doesn't worked maybe i just stick it not correct,i don't have idea and what i think it is that problem because i put the plastic on the processor like what it says above, please help what can it be the problem, and if it is expensive to repair, please!!!
I post you what is my problem but you don't reply me,please reply!!
hi guys
well i went and broke the glass screen on my beloved. i am currently in a month of mourning. my flags are at half mast and anyone reading this would be requested to observe an obligatory minutes silence..............
thanks now onto my question.
i was gonna buy a replacement lcm? and repair it myself until i read these forums and saw that that was never gonna happen. i simply have no chance of repairing it myself so i was thinking of selling my damaged screen and getting a mate in the states to buy me an american hd2 and ship it to me. those have the bigger roms and appear cheaper. so would that work ok for me?
failing that i could attempt to bribe another mate to attempt a fix of my broken screen would this be the lcm that i read i need?

sorry for all the requests but i have read till my eyes bled and all i seem to have understood is that i know very little.
wow this place is quiet

Its possible, the flex connectors have slipped or the circuit board gets cracked internally in a fall, best to just to strip down to check . dismantling guides in My Android Collections
Hi everyone!
I need a new motherboard for my dead motorola defy. also a new terminal would be fine, the important thing is that it costs no more than EUR 50,00. can anybody suggest me?

Well, eBay is probably the best place for you to search.

I know, I already looked on ebay but i didn't find any replacement, so i was asking here if anyone had any broken or unused terminal with a recyclable motherboard. However, I have now found a fresh insertion of a cheap motorola defy on my ebay, and according to what I wrote to him, let's see if I can award it :good:. Otherwise, I hold my demand on the topic.
Hi guys, I'm in a bit of a pickle and would appreciate any help .
Background:
I bought a used i9505 off of eBay that had a broken speaker and fast batter drain. Turns out jokes on me and the motherboard had water damage (the indicator on the inside of the frame was purple). So I decided to replace the motherboard and bought a new one on eBay, that was set with an IMEI of 00/01. Now I've got the new board installed and FW 4.4.2 running on it.
Question:
How do I get my IMEI from my old motherboard to the new one? Is that possible? I've been googling for hours now and found that the only way to do it is to use Super IMEI box/STP boxes. Is there a away to do it without it? I guess there's no easy way of just entering it somewhere eh?
Ps.: The old motherboard runs, so technically i have complete access to it.
Thanks for the help!
Restoring old EFS on your new phone's board is a very bad idea. Really...
The less you will obtain is an unbootable pretty doorstop, besides it's illegal...
IMEI is unique to each phone, so tecnically, you have a new phone

I thought I needed a valid IMEI to make calls and use the network? But I just tried placing a call using the Vodafone internet and it all seems to work. Sorry for the Noobish question, but what is the IMEI then good for? If everything works fine I don't need to get my old one back at all then.
I guess the new board came with one too
Sent from my GT-I9505 using XDA Free mobile app
IMEI numbers are used by operators to register your phone on it's network.
Think abut it as the unique fingerprint identyfing your phone
got a question too: how did you install the new board? just screwed the old one out, put the new one in and connected all flex cables? would be very nice to know :good:

I don't know why people don't answer simple instead of telling other thing, you can try Qualcomm Product Support Tools (QPST) and ChimeraTool. I didn't tried QPST with I9505 but works fine I9305 version of qualcom. Google provides several articles for QPST...
