[Q] Headphone jack Disconnect - HD2 Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting and Genera

Hello all. I need help with this issue. When listening to music through the headphone jack, it will abruptly stop outputting music from the headphone jack and play through the phones stock speaker. I have to reboot the phone to get it to play music through the headphone jack. The problem is occuring with NexusHD2 CM10 v1.4a only. If I revert to v1.3a or Pixelfreak's latest 4.1.2 rom I don't have the issue, so I know it isn't a bad headphone jack. I've also tried fixing permissions, deleting data/casche and dalvik with no success on v1.4a. Any help with a fix would be greatly appreciated. Been using NexusHD2 roms since they were available and never had an issue before. This is my rom of choice and would like to continue using it.

[Q] Headphones problem

Has anyone noticed a problem with using headphones? I have tried 4 different pairs and only managed to get 1 pair working properly. The problem is that when you plug the headphones in the small headphones icon appears in the lower right hand side but when you play the music it comes through both the headphones and also the speaker. It seems to be the headphones are not seating properly.
same problem!!
yess i have the same problemm!!!
i realised that to fix this problem, you have to plug in the headphones while firstly playing any songs through the tablet speakers, then it detects there's headphone plugged in.
This is issue is really pissing me off!! i hope they fix it asap!
yes i had that problem and felt like an idiot when i finally realised that i was sharing my music with everyone on the bus!
very weird problem which has stopped me from listening to music on my a500 even though the audio quality is superior to my Sony Ericsson X10 and my HTC Sensation.
Thanks for the tip - I'll try it out tonight!

this trick works for me too, but only while the audio is playing through the specific app. if i stop music while doing this trick and change to video it out puts the video out of both speakers and headphones again.
It really has nothing to do with the jack seating, it has to do with the audio mixer and the jack detection.
it should be fixed eventually (hoping with ICS) but for now I have to take my headphones off and check the output like a weirdo anytime I want to switch apps using headphones.
Hi, I have also this problem but I noticed another strange thing : when you listen to a track using headphones the stereo image looks moved slightly to the right, it's not well centered. Is it only a problem of my A500 or is it general ?
Thanks
Ramp
Are you guys using non-stock ROM or something? I am on stock 3.1 and I am not having any kinds of issues with it, headphones work just fine and the stereo image is as centered as it should. Or maybe it's your headphones, have you tried with other devices?
I'm on Taboonay 2.1 and i can't remember noticing it when i was using stock rom. I only noticed it because i felt the slight vibration coming from the speakers. I have got 1 Set of headphones that work really well with it and it only happens with my other headphones which weren't exactly cheap (typical) but they all work on everything else i plug them into, so i think it's more to do with the seating of the headphones rather than the rom because i've got a pair that work fine, although i now have some doubt so i'm going to try them all out again to make sure
Same problem here, with Taboney 2.1 and different head phones.
Hi, just upgraded to 3.2 original and now everything comes out in mono. No stereo from headphones. Anyone having the same prob? Wow, things are getting even worse....

I had this same problem too on stock HC 3.1
The trick works for me; but is rather annoying trying to drive and play music at the same time
I have recently changed to Lightspeed ROM with Thor 3.7 (the rest) kernel and have not experienced any sound issue yet =]
I have some problems with the last Tabooney 3.2 ROM and headphones too.
Sound goes through headphone and tab speakers.
I noticed that if I unplug and plug headphones twice or three times I could only have sound into headphones and works well.
I never used OTA ROM so, can't say if it works well with it, but there is a prob with Taboonay's ROM.
I can't post in DEV thread (regard to my posts count).

Can't use headphones, any headphones...

Hi!
Please, can anyone help me? I have a problem with headphones, any type of headphones. I can't listen to music...better, i can't listen anything, when i plug my headphones the only thing i can listen is some type of noise and the music in the background. I've tried some JB rom's and some ICS rom's, and the problem continues. Sugestions?
Thanks,

This sounds to me like a hardware failure. if it is in every rom you tried and all types of headphones...
I had the same prob with my old Nokia 5800. A temporary fix was to clean the audio jack of the phone with a cotton bud and alcohol. One moth later it broke completely and i had to swap the audio jack.
Is your audio jack a type of loose contact? when you push the stereo jack in any direction during listening music, is the quality getting better?
Cheers

[Q] Second Mic not working - advice please

Hi all,
Problem:
The mic on top near the headphone jack that is used for noise cancellation, input while using speakerphone, and voice command isn't working. Headphone jack works though.
Solutions attempted:
I thought it was software related so I stated by reflashing Gapps, reflashing the rom, reflashing recovery. Since non of these worked, I decided to replace the mic itself. The new mic is still not working even though the headphone jack is.
Any advice/possible soluions will be appreciated.
Thanks
flash back to stock firmware and see if the issue still persists

Headphone jack only outputs right audio

Hi guys
After a year and a half of use I finally have an issue with my nexus 6p.
The headphone jack seems to be only outputing right audio. The mic works, volume control works. I did try cleaning the audio port, managed to extract some pocket lint. It looks all clean, but no left audio no matter which headphones I tried.
Now I am not sure if this happened after the latest security update or if this is a software issue. All phone audio only plays right audio.
I don't normally use the 3.5mm jack that much. Any ideas?
Everything is stock.
Thanks.
Nobody had this issue ? No possible causes? No possible solutions?

Please guide to solve this isuue

Hey Kenzo lovers,
Yesterday don't know what happened, my RN3 doesn't make sound nor my speaker and nor from earpiece.
Even Headphone jack not showing so no sound.
Music app cannot play music and youtube can't play video.
What's the problem should be in my kenzo.
I done all things clean flashed rom, flashes miui as well as format the internal storage but nothing happened.
If its hardware issue so what the logic that earpiece as well as headphone jack not working and music should be play without giving sound.
Please help
Hi there,
Try putting your earphones pin inside the jack and give it a jerk. Apply force at some angle and then pull out the earphones.
This happened to me too where my phone thought headphones were plugged in but they weren't. So apply some force before taking out the earphones and you are good to go
