HTC one , droid dna + and project butter - One (M7) General

Will the HTC ONE have the project butter cause for sum reason they didnt added it to OTHERS even recently with the newest 4.2.2 update HTC hasn't added the project butter feature in it which is supposed make android run buttery smooth... And noone online has even asked this question for the NEW HTCONE and I'm curious does HTC not know how to enable the project butter or they just don't add it cause it messes up there PHONES I know they said there was a reason they WONt ADD to put it on the HTC ONE but I forgot and if somone can please find out or figure this out it would be nice.

Pretty sure Project Butter is a built in feature for Jelly bean.

Its not even a feature its just improved code that in theory should run better I believe

OP created similar thread in the GS4 forums, sounds like a troll to me.

Well I find it quite buttery smooth already.

Lets rub some "butter" on OP (troll) so he can experience the buttery'ness.

Looks like he copied it all and changed some words, looks like the changes words are in caps.. Lol trolls should be kicked off...

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD please use any sort of proper punctuation. Project butter is built into android 4.1 jelly bean. It's on there to begin with. My little brother has the droid DNA with the S4 pro processor and its as smooth as can be, so the fact that this phone has an upgraded processor along with the newest version of sense makes me think this will be even smoother.

Don't need any of these rumor mill threads. Thread Closed.

It looked nice and all but I just wanted to know what is cm7 actually based off of..? Just gingerbread..?
And does anyone know if cm9 willl have all the cm7 settings..? like the ones that literally controlled every tiny thing in the phone? And gave headphones button options and other hardware button options for when playing music? Cuz that was the bestt feature to me lol I loved pausing and changing my music from my headphones instead of having to unlock my phone and change the song or pause it lol
Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
CM7 is based off AOSP Gingerbread 2.3.7
CM9 is ICS 4.0.3
And yes there will be lots of options in CM9 as it nears a release candidate.

It is often a minor setting adjustment. If set too quickly the sensor drains the battery, if set too low..noticeable lag. Don't sweat the small stuff.

I want to learn to port or make a ROM

So I want to try and learn how ROMs work. Or maybe that's a little bit too much to start with, maybe mods and hacks and stuff. Is there any tutorials on how to start anything that has to do with development that someone has actually used and learned from and worked with him that you can point me out to? Or at least can someone tell me where I should start to be able to learn all that I need to know?
I've done some theming and editing .xml files and decompliling and stuff so its not that I don't know anything, just don't know enough.

Yes young padawan. You have much to learn in the ways of the force.
No disrespect to the OP or anyone else, but if you have to ask how then you aren't ready.
Do some research: take apart zips, find out how things work. Learn about Android as a whole (helps to also learn how 'nix) works also, Android is of course based largely on it), and most importantly trial and error.
The force is strong in this one, I can feel it. But he must complete the trials in order to fully understand the true nature of the force.

So basically I need some help that's all.
And I too see that CM7/9, AOKP and all those are the same. Especially the 2 versions of MIUI. So I would like to start my own thing kind of like sence and blur. Sence would be something I would be interested in doing since I loved my htc phones before this one, but since its already started I will try and work on something else.
Ill pm you xboxfanj and we'll see how I can start working on it. And thanks for your offer =).

AOKP/CNA/Gummy is kinda like Sbrissen mod for touchwiz gingerbread roms on steroids. Like xbox said, the AOSP thing has been done to death on ICS. All we're getting at this point is some pointless fragmentation between the roms.
UBER/Biggorn/Big Goron or whatever name your using these days , I wish you luck with that endeavor. I tried to do my own for a couple months and realized that I was updating it every other day thanks to what was getting merged in on the other roms. Too much of a PITA for me so I went back to theming.

yeah. i just want vanilla ice cream sandwich. that's it. and STILL retain Wi-Fi Calling capabilities. don't care for touchwiz. thanks for giving us great hardware, Sammy. but howza bout you just let google handle the software. no need to try and improve it.
and i also want these phones with frickin' laser beams attached.
Id be fine with touchwiz stripped of all bloatware, leaving sammy tweaks (smartstay etc.) and wifi calling, but give us the CM7/tmo theme engine, touchwiz is fugly. The single most important thing I want, and its a safety thing because I drive for work, volume rocker track skip.

Guys, if you're really going to do this, why won't you stop all the fuss and start working? I think spamming the thread (with posts like: "I WANT TO BE TESTER!", "Do for my device first!") won't really help. Please stop all the spamming and only post useful posts and let the OP tell you when the Alpha or Beta is done to you guys test . I read all the comments on the two pages and all I saw on the second page were spam, please that's not useful! Why not to come with an useful tip for him or something like that? You already showed your love to this idea, now let the dev do the work. Thanks for your comprehension.

ITS not included I already saw many video reviews where everyone has said that no Samsung phone that has jellybean has project butter. That includes the gs3 and even Samsung stated there was reason for it a couple months ago I can't remember thou but project butter is a jelly bean feature but its not part of the jelly bean update so its up to the manufacturer to added it. So my question is will gs4 have the same fate? And if u still believe gs3 has find me proof I've looked every and every review on it online has said no jellybean Samsung phone has the project butter..

Well how else did you think it was going to be butter smooth
Project butter is just a gimmick from google. To make jelly bean with something distinct.
Ics when released was hard to port or mod but with all the dev and further 4.0.4 had it rock hard. So i didnt find that stability in jb 4.2 release. ICS was a real success. JB is a useless update. Leta see the KLP.

Perhaps you should try a nexus device with direct updates from google before making useless assumptions.

And noone online has even asked this question for the gs4 and I'm curious does Samsung not know how to enable the project butter or they just don't add it cause it messes up there touchwiz I know they said there was a reason they want to put it on the gs3 but I forgot and if somone can please find out or figure this out it would be nice.

Project Butter works properly on Galaxy S III and S II on stock ROM and even custom rom like CM10.1
For those who have forgotten it:
"Project Butter" is not a feature like "Google+" or "Smart Stay". It is an approach to reduce visual lags by harmonizing calls from Apps (incl. launchers) to the Android graphic sub-system (a.k.a sufaceflinger)

Project butter is only noticeable with it Omar chips and snapdragon.
Galaxy nexus seems smoother with it, nexus 7 is still like a typical laggy tab while 4.1.x introduced intense lag to the Samsung galaxy s3
AW: Galaxy s4 and project butter..!

project butter simply drains battery because it hits cpu clock at max every time you touch the screen.

OK, maybe I was a bit too overly descriptive there but did you notice some lag associated with touchwiz launcher (open and closing animation) and the slide down notification tray?
LOL project butter is embedded into the AOSP code, all jellybean roms have project butter. lol at some of these responses here hahaha
your cpu configurations (frequency, governor, scheduler) are controlled by your kernel not the OS. project butter is about the framework of android

But Samsung is still using gingerbread Rom and making updates based on that. Hmm
Btw, cm10 and cm10.1 in exynos devices does not use project butter. Since the sources was not provided. Even if it's just a hack, cm is smoother than Samsung Rom.
Also, Galaxy nexus is faster than galaxy s3

Please stop talking about things you don't understand! 99% in here is wrong.
Project Butter is not a "joke" "fake" or framework. Its not a feature you can implement inside framework.
Project Butter's goal is, to keep the User Interface be shown with 60FPs, without battery drain or random appearing FPs lags.
It needs a kernel implementation, and now please stop posting wrong stuff here
