[Q] Nexus 7 "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped" - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm using: 4.2.2 JB CyanogenMod Fusion Version R3 10.1 - 20130311 - Nightly
3.1.10-leanKernel-grouper - 1.5.4
hey Guys, experts and colleagues. I've been looking for a clear solution on this Error message popping up when trying to use Google Voice Search
When I speak it records my words, it then pops up the error message. I also noticed a funny thing - the Voice Search image on the top right is sort of Cut. Maybe it has something to do with it. Here are the Screenshots. Please help me if possible. Perhaps I need to flash GAPPS again? can I just Flash once more without deleting or should I do the whole process again with factory reset?

Well, It doesn't give me the update option on Google play. Would it be wise for me to re-flash GAPPS over the existing rom? or should i start off clean? Maybe even try an older version of Gapps?

Uninstall google search with a 3rd party app, reinstall from the market, reboot into recovery, fix permissions, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache, reboot. Worked on my T889 running Cm10.1 nightlies.

That's a little overkill... first I would try wiping data for Google search. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall from Google play.
You shouldn't need to mess with gapps.

i suggest you to do a complete clean reinstall.
And you should follow the guide in the Sense like miui thread.
There are some instructions for first boot.

yup, i wipe date, wipe cache, wipe dalviz, wipe battery status, then jst flaash my rom, and everything following the thread, this not the only rom will force close for me, maybe is hardware problem? but i think morstly problem of software, how can i fixed it?
To make sure it's a hardware problem, flash another rom and if it's forces closes, too, it could be hardware.

Hmmm if you try a complete new rom maybe one without sense or with sense it could be working but I can't promise.
Or you do a complete reflash.. Task 29, new magldr and cwm..

[APP/WIP]CyanogenMod Updater - Update official CM devices!

CyanogenMod Updater
My buddy and I are coding an Android app to update your officially CM supported device. With this you can check if there's a new update for your device. I didn't feel like checking the CM website for an update for my device, nor did I want to buy ROM Manager.. Here are the 3 main screen's that will come in the app:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",

"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Red: New update is available
Green: You're up to date with your ROM
Blue Spinning: Screen when something loading(Downloading, getting info, etc..)
Features:
Download updates
Get notifications
Automatically flash package for you
Just boot into recovery when done
More...
To download the update, you simply press on the CyanogenMod picture. I will have a beta up soon, hopefully by tomorrow or Friday.
Any suggestions? Thoughts?
Here's a question, My friend and I want to make a free version with no notifications, and have ads. A paid version for $0.99 with no ads, and get notifications. Good idea?
--Simran
I would add a popup box that let's you choose exactly what you want to wipe before it flashes. Have checkboxes for data, cache, dalvik, /boot and /system
I love the idea though.

These are going to be the nightly builds.
maybe you can automate the proocess of flashing a new rom a little by:
1) monthly rom searches with optional overrides.
2) auto download and install
3) and auto booter

Nexus 4 Issues With Cm10.1 Stable

Hello there, let me start by saying this is my first post, therefore Im not even sure I'm posting in the right Section of the forums, also my english it's Bad since I'm from Venezuela, Anyway let me get to it, I have a Lg Nexus 4(16GB Version) and Recently I decided to Flash a custom ROM. I did some research and found CM to be the best(or the most appeling to me). So I did Flash and everything went Smoothly, I also installed the latest Gapps and everything good, after a few hours of setting my phone the way I wanted to be, I realize that when Wifi it's Off I cant use the internet, here is the tricky(or confusing) part, when I'm using my networks internet, I can use SOME apps but not ALL of them, for instance I can use facebook app, and send and receive messages from either ChatOn or What'sApp just find like my internet connection it's good(which it seems to be) but if I go into ANY Explorer I can't get it to load a page, it says I have no connection, I can't Use Twitter either and I even tried Using Speed Test with no results as if I had no connection, let me Provide Some info of my Phone, as I said it's a Nexus 4, currently Runing Cm10.1 Stable the one released june 24, yes my APN's are as intended and I even deleted then and recreated them just to try, I also went into the "Network" Setting by tipyng, *#*#4636#*#* and I tweaked some stuff in there(Then returned everything the way it was) with no results, plz help me fix this! is it a problem with the ROM? should I go with a Nightlie? I just don't wanna Give up CM, because despite this, Im Loving it!

Rule #1 when it comes to flashing custom ROMs is wipe, wipe and wipe some more Try wipe factory reset and re-flash cm and gapps, if it won't work read around the forum.

[Solved] Watch ABC apk not working N7?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get the watchABC .apk to work with the N7? On the play store, the app description says it should work, but the play store says it's not compatible. I've also emailed the ABC app support, but haven't heard anything back from them. See screenshot below. Thx in advance for the help!

Edit: ABC customer support contacted me and verified that the app isn't compatible with 4.4 on my device. Once they update it, it'll work. Thx!

Oh yeah, I should have mentioned that I had the app installed on my device from the ABC website, while I was on 4.3, right before my device received the 4.4 OTA. So I'm not even sure if it worked on 4.3 cos I didn't test it out, was excited by the newer OS! I'll try it on another one of my devices, which is also on 4.4 though, and report back. Thx!

G App install walkthrough

Hello all,
I see people keep asking how to get G Apps on MIUI, and most answers I find lacking so here is (I Hope) an easy walkthrough:
First go to the additional settings:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Second click on privacy:
Third click the unknown sources:
Fourth go to the default tools folder and click on download:
Fifth turn off Xunlei download engine and set downloading to Unlimited (i know it says mobile data but i couldn't get the install to work without this step).
Sixth find the MI app store icon, mine was in the tools folder, launch the mi app store:
Seventh type in google in the search bar you should get the below screenshot. click the secone one (green one)
Eighth you should see the below screenshot result.
Ninth you should see the below icon installed
Tenth you will see the below screenshot, click the big blue button.
this is not a click and forget install, it will install 6 things but the installs are on you and pop up , each time one pops up click install and then click done once it completes.
Eleventh step: find the security app, click permissions. find the below circled apps and give them most of the permissions.
And then lauch the Google Playstore, by clicking on the playstore icon. I hope this helps. please PM me, if you see an error or post if you have a question. I will try to answer asap.
