Nexus 4 Issues With Cm10.1 Stable - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello there, let me start by saying this is my first post, therefore Im not even sure I'm posting in the right Section of the forums, also my english it's Bad since I'm from Venezuela, Anyway let me get to it, I have a Lg Nexus 4(16GB Version) and Recently I decided to Flash a custom ROM. I did some research and found CM to be the best(or the most appeling to me). So I did Flash and everything went Smoothly, I also installed the latest Gapps and everything good, after a few hours of setting my phone the way I wanted to be, I realize that when Wifi it's Off I cant use the internet, here is the tricky(or confusing) part, when I'm using my networks internet, I can use SOME apps but not ALL of them, for instance I can use facebook app, and send and receive messages from either ChatOn or What'sApp just find like my internet connection it's good(which it seems to be) but if I go into ANY Explorer I can't get it to load a page, it says I have no connection, I can't Use Twitter either and I even tried Using Speed Test with no results as if I had no connection, let me Provide Some info of my Phone, as I said it's a Nexus 4, currently Runing Cm10.1 Stable the one released june 24, yes my APN's are as intended and I even deleted then and recreated them just to try, I also went into the "Network" Setting by tipyng, *#*#4636#*#* and I tweaked some stuff in there(Then returned everything the way it was) with no results, plz help me fix this! is it a problem with the ROM? should I go with a Nightlie? I just don't wanna Give up CM, because despite this, Im Loving it!

Rule #1 when it comes to flashing custom ROMs is wipe, wipe and wipe some more Try wipe factory reset and re-flash cm and gapps, if it won't work read around the forum.

Try going to settings>applications>manage applications>all and then find market, clear data and see if that works
I got it too!
And clearing the cache didn't work.

Same issue here, on both mine and my wifes tab, started about 2-3am tonight. In my case it was caused by having a broken IMEI (so I can use a regular sim card for phone+data with tmo)
steps to resolve went like this
-unbreak IMEI by restoring EFS information
-delete vending.apk from /system/app/ as found in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=878291
-Complete reflash of the device to Roto_v4
Still trying to find a solution that will let me keep my voice+data and still access market but its time for bed, will check back tommorow

If this is the only solution then i will leave it as is, i too have the broken IMEI and i can have voice+edge with my Vibrant, and i do not feel like loosing it so i'll just have to deal with it for now.
ok i think either market is started to work properly on its own or i may have fixed it but all i did was re-flash JME v4 and so far it seems to work, but sure was a pain in the you know what.......
you guys can save yourself the reflash trouble. this is what worked for me.

Skype problems after ICS LPY

Hey guys. So I have flashed and rooted the stock ICS LPY a week ago and everything is just fine. Ever since I have been getting an error message every time I try to use skype (see screen shot) . It was working just fine back in GB. I have tried re- installing it and still no success. I would really appreciate your help.

Go to phone> settings> application> skype> clear data and force stop then uninstall it go to play store and install it again. Now it works good for you.
The only thing that Samsung did do wrong NO WIPE for ICS. So many applications having GB processes taken to ICS.

Force closed, cleared data and unistalled skype. Installed V16 as you suggested and still the problem persists. Also tried installing older version 2.6 both modified and official and no luck still. Skype is working just fine on my laptop. Thanks anyway.
Edit: I have also disabled video calls when prompted that my phone is not officially supported!

[Q] Nexus 7 "Unfortunately, Google Search has stopped"

I'm using: 4.2.2 JB CyanogenMod Fusion Version R3 10.1 - 20130311 - Nightly
3.1.10-leanKernel-grouper - 1.5.4
hey Guys, experts and colleagues. I've been looking for a clear solution on this Error message popping up when trying to use Google Voice Search
When I speak it records my words, it then pops up the error message. I also noticed a funny thing - the Voice Search image on the top right is sort of Cut. Maybe it has something to do with it. Here are the Screenshots. Please help me if possible. Perhaps I need to flash GAPPS again? can I just Flash once more without deleting or should I do the whole process again with factory reset?

Well, It doesn't give me the update option on Google play. Would it be wise for me to re-flash GAPPS over the existing rom? or should i start off clean? Maybe even try an older version of Gapps?
Uninstall google search with a 3rd party app, reinstall from the market, reboot into recovery, fix permissions, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache, reboot. Worked on my T889 running Cm10.1 nightlies.

That's a little overkill... first I would try wiping data for Google search. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall from Google play.
You shouldn't need to mess with gapps.

com.android.phone crashes when I get a call

Whenever I get a call com.android.phone crashes and I am unable to answer phone calls, my signal drops and comes back after 5-10 seconds. People tell me they call me and it rings once then hangs up.
Any idea what I need to do to fix this issue?
I'm running cm10.1 rc5, Franco kernel, and modem. 33
Thanks!

clear the data for the phone app in your phones main settings, apps, all, phone.. then reboot.
if that doesnt fix things then wipe your dalvik and then run a fix_permissions.

have you tried reflashing your rom, or a different version of cm? have you tried to use a different gapps zip? have you tried to disable(then reenable) contacts sync in google sync settings?
Also I don't know if it's relevant but my battery shows phone calls are using 75% of my battery, on for 8h35mins of 10hrs, I only made one 5 min call today.

[Q] Can't make or receive phone calls

I thought I had performed all of the necessary checks before flashing Cyanogenmod on my Note 3, but it turns out it hasn't worked 100% as planned.
Everything is absolutely fine, bar the fact that I can't actually use it as a phone. I'm able to send and receive texts and also use data, but whenever I go to make a call, the call ends and if someone tries to call me, they hear ringing, but nothing makes it through to my Note.
I found this post reporting a similar issue. I'm locked into O2 in the UK, so I'm guessing it's something along those lines.
Is there anything I can do to resolve this or do I need to restore to a backup?
Use a CyanogenMod build from 3/27 or earlier and you will have calling back. It's a bug that is still not fixed as of today
Sent from my Nexus 10 using Tapatalk
Thank you. I'll give that a go just now.
Edit: That worked. Thanks for the heads up!

Have exactly the same problem with SM-N9005 on Cyanogenmod Nightly 28/03 onwards, and can't dirty flash back to 26/03 somehow, have to clean install 26/03 to make the phone working again. Super annoying...

I know that feel, bros, but on a stock based rom it works.
Yesterday I wrote this post:

Guys, everytime I flashed an AOSP based Rom like Carbon on my hltexx, nobody can call me and I also can't call someone else. If I dial a number, the connection seems to break instantly but my mom told me, she got my calls but didn't hear anything. I'm also unable to change or view the access points.
Stock based Roms like Omega work correctly.
WTF am I doing wrong? :crying:
