CyanogenMod Updater
My buddy and I are coding an Android app to update your officially CM supported device. With this you can check if there's a new update for your device. I didn't feel like checking the CM website for an update for my device, nor did I want to buy ROM Manager.. Here are the 3 main screen's that will come in the app:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Red: New update is available
Green: You're up to date with your ROM
Blue Spinning: Screen when something loading(Downloading, getting info, etc..)
Features:
Download updates
Get notifications
Automatically flash package for you
Just boot into recovery when done
More...
To download the update, you simply press on the CyanogenMod picture. I will have a beta up soon, hopefully by tomorrow or Friday.
Any suggestions? Thoughts?
Here's a question, My friend and I want to make a free version with no notifications, and have ads. A paid version for $0.99 with no ads, and get notifications. Good idea?
--Simran
I would add a popup box that let's you choose exactly what you want to wipe before it flashes. Have checkboxes for data, cache, dalvik, /boot and /system
I love the idea though.

These are going to be the nightly builds.
maybe you can automate the proocess of flashing a new rom a little by:
1) monthly rom searches with optional overrides.
2) auto download and install
3) and auto booter

Thanks!!!!
I want to thank my family for supporting me i am 14 and this is very time consuming.
My friend that tested this rom for me.
And whoever made the base.
Working!!!!!
3g/4g
camera
video camera
widgets
Everything is working on this rom.
This is The first release of my "Miss Me" Series
keep checking my threads and post there is more coming thank you
If there is anything wrong on this rom let me know and i will fix it asap.
Any request a greatly appreciated guys and girls
Sorry for this crappy post but i am just learning to make these threads lol.
Below there some pics of the rom sorry bout the music app picture the drocap2 app was kinda buggy on my phone.
I hope you guys enjoy and pm me if anything is wrong or any request thanks.
To install
Use amon ra's recovery due to clockworkmod not clearing cache corectly.
Install zip then clear
Cache
Dalvik Cache
Data
Dont forget to wipe!!!!!
Also do not use rom manager to flash this rom or you will get stuck in a bootloop.
If you do use rom manager to flash and you get a bootloop easy fix.
Go into recovery mode manually to do so hold down volume down and power button and select recovery in bootloader then install and wipe.

1. You didn't mention which device this rom is for.
2. Where is the download link?
lol I guess by using "amon ra's recovery", the phone probably is from HTC.
This is a sense rom, so it must be at least a HTC hero, right?
It is the HTC EVO 4G on Sprint "The Now Network."©
Either that or the HTC Thunderbolt on Verizon©

i suggest you to do a complete clean reinstall.
And you should follow the guide in the Sense like miui thread.
There are some instructions for first boot.

yup, i wipe date, wipe cache, wipe dalviz, wipe battery status, then jst flaash my rom, and everything following the thread, this not the only rom will force close for me, maybe is hardware problem? but i think morstly problem of software, how can i fixed it?
To make sure it's a hardware problem, flash another rom and if it's forces closes, too, it could be hardware.

Hmmm if you try a complete new rom maybe one without sense or with sense it could be working but I can't promise.
Or you do a complete reflash.. Task 29, new magldr and cwm..

Try the one for the Unofficial CM9
Did data wipe. Got "system UI crashed" error from boot animation screen. Back to EOS.
It's the first nightly, can't expect too much yet.
Just to let people know, it doesn't work... it keep crashing at the end of the boot, so I would advice to wait for the next nightly
And umts_everest build for MZ601 EU or MZ605 BR?
really glad i read this post before flashing. we should take this post to development though now that we have nightly builds
Here's the gapps:
http://goo-inside.me/gapps
There's a new one up. anyone try it?
yes i try it,
doesn't work (i can't even flash it), be patient. CM9 team has lots of work
The download mirror site shows the file size as being100.41 MB, but when I downloaded it is only 89.48MB. I didn't attempt installing, but did I get a bad download? Will try again to see if I get anything different.
Sent from Tapa with an Ice Cream Treat
Flashed the 2/25 Build and still nothing. System UI Crash errors like crazy during boot.
the md5 sums are not correct after download. just have to wait till the bugs are out
Why am I getting an error page when I try to download?

It seems that there is some new version but the link to download them is broken. how can we inform the dev for that ?
http://forum.cyanogenmod.com/topic/42535-xoom-cm9-nightly-builds/page__pid__297087#entry297087There's a thread here

you said it all!
I'm using: 4.2.2 JB CyanogenMod Fusion Version R3 10.1 - 20130311 - Nightly
3.1.10-leanKernel-grouper - 1.5.4
hey Guys, experts and colleagues. I've been looking for a clear solution on this Error message popping up when trying to use Google Voice Search
When I speak it records my words, it then pops up the error message. I also noticed a funny thing - the Voice Search image on the top right is sort of Cut. Maybe it has something to do with it. Here are the Screenshots. Please help me if possible. Perhaps I need to flash GAPPS again? can I just Flash once more without deleting or should I do the whole process again with factory reset?

Well, It doesn't give me the update option on Google play. Would it be wise for me to re-flash GAPPS over the existing rom? or should i start off clean? Maybe even try an older version of Gapps?
Uninstall google search with a 3rd party app, reinstall from the market, reboot into recovery, fix permissions, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache, reboot. Worked on my T889 running Cm10.1 nightlies.

That's a little overkill... first I would try wiping data for Google search. If that doesn't work, uninstall and reinstall from Google play.
You shouldn't need to mess with gapps.

Hello all,
I see people keep asking how to get G Apps on MIUI, and most answers I find lacking so here is (I Hope) an easy walkthrough:
First go to the additional settings:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Second click on privacy:
Third click the unknown sources:
Fourth go to the default tools folder and click on download:
Fifth turn off Xunlei download engine and set downloading to Unlimited (i know it says mobile data but i couldn't get the install to work without this step).
Sixth find the MI app store icon, mine was in the tools folder, launch the mi app store:
Seventh type in google in the search bar you should get the below screenshot. click the secone one (green one)
Eighth you should see the below screenshot result.
Ninth you should see the below icon installed
Tenth you will see the below screenshot, click the big blue button.
this is not a click and forget install, it will install 6 things but the installs are on you and pop up , each time one pops up click install and then click done once it completes.
Eleventh step: find the security app, click permissions. find the below circled apps and give them most of the permissions.
And then lauch the Google Playstore, by clicking on the playstore icon. I hope this helps. please PM me, if you see an error or post if you have a question. I will try to answer asap.

Yeah I have tried several different ways of getting GApps on a miui rom, I have had better success with the way I described, but if it works for you great its the same process but, i just have more screenshots
