Hi guys, i have a problem with my 2 month old Nexus 4, is currently on CM10.1 Nightly (of Today), Unlocked Bootloader and TWRP Recovery.
I'm trying to charge my phone to the AC (and also via USB) with no result. The screen is not showing the battery level and the phone is not responding. There are some possible solution? Just like going to fastboot mode for lock the bootloader and then ask a RMA?.
Thanks in Advance

My N7 just randomly died. It's been working great for a month and now suddenly won't turn on. The battery was very low and it probably shut down from that. But after plugging in to recharge, nothing!! No power, won't turn on, has no indication it's charging ... totally dead. I bought retail but if i return it now, my data is not wiped. I'm afraid that after i exchange it, anyone either at the store or at google/asus that gets it back and gets it turned on will have access to all my accounts.
any suggestions?
does it connect when you plug it via usb?

It's 100% dead so it doesn't connect at all, not power not usb. Very weird, it's had zero issues until now and it just randomly died ... no trigger
Since you didn't provide info on how you were trying to charge it...
o are you using the OEM charger and cable?
o how long did you let it charge (let it go a couple hours)
o When you try to start it up after letting it charge for a while, press and hold the power button for a long time 30+ seconds
If you can't get it to ever power on, you will never get the data off since that is the only way to access the memory on the device.
I'll just leave this here...

I was playing a game and my battery drain to the point where the device had to turn off.
I plugged it in after and it just wont start. Also once plugged in the battery charging animation dose not show.
I had similar thing happen to my nexus s when the battery drained out wile using the navigation and the way I resolved was to remove the battery and put it back in. But on the nexus 7 I don't have that option.
Anyone experienced this?
Try leaving it charging for a while, or try holding the power key for several seconds (like 60), sometime that will start a reboot.
Same problem for me
Hi
I have the exact same problem. I was playing Fruit Ninja and boom the nexus turned off with a warning that battery was completely drained. I left it uncharged for the night. When I tried charging the next morning, it wouldn't charge at all.
Not sure what to do. Have tried pressing the power button many times but still does not work.
Does anyone have a solution?
Thanks

Seems you have the red light of death ( RLOD) . Can you get into the boot loader?
Plug in the charger, hold power button and volume down button. If you can get into bootloader then use the volume key to select "power down" and use power button to choose that option. Then just leave the phone plugged in for a while.
I've had it only take maybe 5 minutes and other times take an hour. Try turning it on, if it just vibrates then shows the Google screen and reboots then redo the steps and leave it plugged in and let it sit for longer

Check the file you flashed. Sounds like you flashed a ROM not meant for the nexus 4 like a nexus 7 ROM.
If that's the case you are bricked and only a JTAG will save it.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
If you can get in bootloader:
download the ROM from computer (correct one)
get into recovery
mount usb storage
put ROM in phone
flash rom
wipe
reboot
you might have to hold power and volume down for awhile.. 10+ seconds
You posted this in the wrong forum btw.. next time Q&A would be appropriate

Looks like that is a gs2 ROM. Only way to save it is JTAG.
For future reference only flash Roms made for the device you are using.

Leave it charging for a good couple hours. It sounds like you really run it dry. And when in bootloader... You can literally run it dry. Always charge around 5% I would say.

A lot of people are having a problem with the battery wire. Kind of a longshot , but if you open it up, the cord to the battery might be loose. I would look it up a bit more but a ton of users are having that issue.

Hey guys!
Today my phone was at about 10% charge, so I decided to charge it. After I plugged it in, it immediately said charged (I unplugged it after it said charged). After about 30mins the phone completely turned off and wouldn't turn on. When I went home and plugged it in, a red light started to blink. After fiddling around with it and finally being able to turn it on, I went into the battery menu and realized there was a sudden drop. I would appreciate it if anyone could tell me why it happened, a fix/ a way to prevent this from happening!
Edit: I am using paranoid android 3.69 with twrp 2.6 and Franco kernel 3.4 milestone 3
Android 4.2.2

thats a pretty big issue, but I just ran into a similar issue. My battery life was at 73, and then i powered off the phone then powered it back on. it was still at 73. then i powered off again and powered on again and it was down to 65. Not sure why that is, did you power off/on your like this too?

Woah, this is either a big coincidence or has something to do w/ PA. I had same thing happen to me and I had to RMA my phone. It had only been a few days since I had installed PA for the first time.
What do you mean by "I had to RMA my phone"? Sorry i dont know many terms.
