I have never installed NativeSD but..
Is the ROM you installed Tytungs ICS? If it is, the kernel is already included - you need not I stall it after the fact. Maybe that created a problem.
Fir the wifi look for wifi fix on Google Play. It may help.

If you have a 50% chance of being right, you will be wrong 90% of the time...

Does the device connect to wifi when not in ICS?
Have you checked the obvious things?
In settings / wifi / advanced make sure you allow for weak signal and the wifi region code.
ICS will have a different mac address; make sure the router is allowing it.
Clear cache, fix permissions, the usual steps.

As I said, I really don't know that much about NativeSD so I am only guessing..
Is it possible to get a logcat from the time when you try to turn on the wi-fi?
There are several apps on Google Play which will save the log as a text file and you can upload it to the ICS dev thread for Tytung or someone else to look at.
You can also try to flash an old wi-fi firmware but I have no idea what that may do. It is possible that it will not work and you will have to do a clean install after it. If you want to give it a try download BCM4329_firmware_v4.218.248.18_.zip - 1.66 MB and flash through recovery.
Last, I would try to remove the entire Nativesd ROM and start over clean. I don't think the ROM has a wifi issue in all Nativesd installations so my last resort would be to completely clean up and reinstall.

Try some other rom to see if your wifi works, try some stable roms, like cm9 or viper,
Or just reinstall rom using another kernel.

Problem with CyanogenMod

I really need some assistance with some of the settings for CyanogenMod. I just got done flashing the ROM and everything went smoothly, but there seems to be a problem with my data/coverage. The phone is in roaming mode and I can't get the data to work. I have everything configured correctly I think, but I can't get the data connection to work. There is no indication that it is on even though I have it checked. So I can't get on the internet unless it's through WiFi and I can't send/receive picture messages since I have no data.
Would really appreciate some assistance since I really like this ROM but I'm paying for data and it seems I can't use it /:
Thanks for any advice

Sounds like you may not have done a full Wipe/Factory Reset, Wipe Cache and wipe dalvik cache before you flashed. You perform these steps from ClockworkMod recovery before you flash the ROM.
Another thing that could have happened is that you had the USB cable plugged in when you entered ClockworkMod to flash the new ROM. Once you copy the new ROM to your SD card you should unplug the USB cable and then reboot into ClockworkMod.

The bold is something that is so common and so miniscule that many users often overlook it but it can cause weird things to happen when flashing ROMs and other things...
Also, @OP dial *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone information and scroll down...what option do you have for "Set preferred network type"?

Anytime bud, just trying to help you The moral of the story was, I read your post and that was the first thing that came to mind and you got all salty, no problem though i understand you're frustrated. I would be to. As blake posted, did you happen to have your USB cable plugged in while you were booting into clockwork to flash your ROM and did you also clear cache, dalvik and data? I'll assume you cleared everything since you probably followed a tutorial verbatim on this site or some other site but the USB thing, while so small, can actually cause so many issues...no hard feelings bro
Also, please see above post for the preferred network type information...

I actually just downloaded the zip on my phone and moved it to the SD card with Astro, is this a problem? So I wasn't ever connected to a computer.
And I'm positive I did the full wipe.
The preferred network type says, WCDMA preferred

Yessir, that's what I've got as well...I'm assuming that you actually had service when you were on a non-cyanogenmod ROM?
1. Where did you download the ROM from? Was it from one of the links in attn1's thread?
- i.e. one of the two links supplied here?
2. If so...If I were you I would, redownload the ROM, move it out of your downloads folder (i.e. from /sdcard/downloads to /sdcard/) and wipe data, cache, dalvik and reflash...
3. Again, if I were you, and #2 didn't fix anything I would go back to a sense ROM and see if the problem is still existant. If it's not then idfk what to tell you LOL...but if it is then its probably hardware related...I would also flash BACK to the CM ROM after going back to the sense...
I know seems like a lot of stuff but if you're dedicated to having CM then you might just have to bear with the bs ;(

[Q] Data will not work despite efforts!

Phone: Tmobile Hd2
Base Rom: Energy dec 30 I think
radio: 2.12
magldr: latest
clockwork mod: latest
NAND rom: MDJ cyanogen mod 7 ver. 2.5 gingerbread
Hi, I've tried basically everything. Tried everything I could find for variations for apn settings,
turning on and off data, turning on and off airplane mode, turning on 2g only, hard reset, reflashing the zip rom (works fine when I go back to last rom) and my data worked for a minute when I reflashed the zip rom. It no longer works. I scoured xda and could find nothing!
Anybody have this problem/know a fix for it? Greatly appreciate the help, I like the rom a lot, so I don't want to have to go back to the old one!

Every now and then it seems it will let me load google, and then it won't let me load any other pages. It displays that 3g is up,
but as I said, its not working.

How can you have energy as base rom and you are using magldr?

The very first splash screen you see is not touched by Magldr installation, so it remains as it was. As for your WM ROM, it's gone. Completely.
Anyway, check your APN settings against the settings found on this page...
http://www.unlocks.co.uk/gprs_settings.php
Maybe there is a discrepancy?
As for letting you load Google every now and then, I think that's probably a cached version of the page. Whenever I've had data problems, I've always ignored my home page and tried a different page to see if I do actually have a data connection. I usually just click one of the links at the top of Google (Images/News etc..)
Tried the APN, can't get it to work, period. Tried the apn, tried turning on and off data, on and off for airplane mode, resetting, and im not sure what else. Do I need to clear my cache and data and reflash? can anything else possibly be the problem? could it be that I forgot to flash DAF before clockwork mod?

I doubt that CWM has anything to do with this. It really does sound like the APN settings in the ROM you installed are just wrong. Did you actually check against the ones on the page I linked you?
Other than that, I can only suggest trying a different ROM. Clearing data out before flashing is irrelevant, as flashing will itself clear everything like that.
I manually re-entered all the apn data MULTIPLE times. And tried several variations; and for that link you sent me, Operator: - T-Mobile (Internet)
GPRS APN: - internet2.voicestream.com
Username: - {blank}
Password: - {blank}
DNS: - 216.155.175.105, 216.155.175.106
thats what it tells me for tmobile data, and I cannot find anywhere in apn settings that say's dns, which makes it all the more confusing.
I tried the settings that another person posted that worked fine on the last rom I was on; wifi ironically works (it didn't on my last rom) and now my data doesnt work.

If you've tried the exact same settings on 2 different ROMs and it works on one but not the other, then I'm afraid the only answer is that there's a problem with the ROM. You could search the thread where you got the ROM from, and ask in there if it's not already answered. The only other alternative is to give up with that ROM and try a different one.
Sorry mate, but that's all I can suggest.
Had same issue
Hi, I had the same issue when I updated, using CWM, from MDJ's v. 2.3 to v. 2.5
I spent almost a day to understand that probably during the flash something went wrong and at the end I decided to flash the non-CWM rom, and magically all my connections started to work again.
( I did some debugging of the problem because I couldn't even get root (before the update everything was fine) and I had to manually fix permission and at the end I discovered that busybox was broken ( continuous seg faults) )
Just so it's clear, this issue can't be related to CWM. CWM is something that you can boot into, instead of Android, but it does absolutely nothing - doesn't even run - when you boot into Android. The only thing I can think that may be relevant is that I know a ROM has to be made "ready" for CWM. Maybe something in that process is causing a problem. You guys really should make the ROM devs aware of this, if you haven't already, in order to stop the problem.
Data works for a lot of people from what I got from the thread for the rom I'm using. Which is all the more maddening, not knowing if I did something wrong or what. Could it be possible that my data is not working because my flash memory is not partitioned?

I'd expect the majority of people using the same ROM to have no problems with data, or the ROM simply wouldn't be available as it would be useless. I really don't think that partitioning would have anything to do with this problem.
What ROM is it? Could you post a link to the thread?

Okay, I can see quite a lot of people on there saying that they're having the exact same problem as you, but no-one can offer any help, so I can't see a solution.
The only thing I can suggest is that you use a different ROM. For some reason, that one just isn't going to work for you.

If you read that post carefully you would
know that dalvik cache is different from cache!!
If that doesn't wipe data..
Last option is to reflash!!

I didn't see much negative effects made by the V6 Supercharger than the KA Kernelizer Tweak (which completely destroyed my phone ).
if a reflash or wipe doesn't solve the bugs
then i think it is a hardware problem!!
quickly get a warranty before they run out of stock
as they are not selling GT540 anymore!!
i've reflashed back to rc3 and everything work fine but when i flash rc5 i got the same problem again.
Wonder what i did wrong???
And i even flash back to rom 2.1 (with kdz and it really scare me) and connection is really fast so i dont think it s because of the hardware

No, if it's the sim's problem Wifix app should have fixed it. You can try to force enable it by dialing some sort of a code from the dialer (you can find the code in the WiFix thread (here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21406675)
Also, what do you mean by "can't turn on"? What error do you see? Or does it turn itself off after a while? Did you try to change the kernel after flashing the ROM?
EDIT:
Here is the code:
Once installed, you're ready to go. The application will change the country code when needed. You can also invoke it manually by dialing *#94349# (*#WIFIX#) and pressing the call button (don't forget to press call button; it's not a MSL code).

I will try my best. But I still can't figure out what would make the "wifi" option unavailable.
Here is one thing to try, backup your apps and make a fresh install (i.e. go to recovery, wipe data and factory reset > re-download the ROM > make system partition 270 > wipe sd card > install ROM normally with Data on EXT), then BEFORE you restore your apps check if wifi works.
I know this sounds much, but I can' really figure out what would blank wifi.
If that doesn't help, try to flash another ROM that uses a different base, and see if you still can't turn on wifi.

This is nothing to worry about, just reflash CWM with a larger partition and then install the ROM.

If You have so many problems with this phone, try doing Hard Reset and then reinstall Android from scratch, it wouldn't take longer than fixing these problems, and it would be fresh so i think problems would go away.
Just suggesting

Yep, I would suggest the same as Zathura. You seem to be having lots of problems, and fixing one makes another pop up. Start from scratch, and set everything up correctly. Also backup your sdcard, format it completely and repartition it again. And by scratch, I mean return to stock windows mobile.

no wifi with new roms

Since a week, everytime I install a new ROM, I have no wifi.
As before I do a wipe of system, data, cache before flashing the new ROM. When it boots with the Google account configuration, no way to switch on the wifi. I skip the configuration, and in the settings, the system can't turn it on...
If a reinstall an old backup, the wifi is working great...
I have try RR, CM13s, same problem!
I have also try to install the ROM over a working backup, doing only a cache and data wipe. Same issue...
Do anyone have an idea?
Thanks
MY SOLUTION :
if you have your wifi mac adress to 02:00:00:00:00:00 and not turning on
reinstalling custom rom, miui.zip, fastboot flashing miui don"t work in my case
my solution : flashing MIUI with WiaoMiFlash(beta) in EDL mode then after a first boot (very long) and a customization, i install TWRP, made a COMPLETE backup (in case of next bug), installing custom rom, and bingo !
after 2 weeks 1 MONTH ! of sh*t my redmi'wifi is working again with custom roms
i've try a clean install via fastboot of miui dev rom, wifi is ok
then install AOKP (or wathever), and my wifi's mac adress is 02:00:00:00:00:00 => no wifi connection :'(
any idea guys ?

I don't think it will solve the problem because the system can't even access the wifi HW because of the wrong MAC adress
In my case MAC is 38:a4:es:73:d9:c7 but Android see 02:00:00:00:00:00
Hi @iCarolo,
I got your PM, but I don't know why I am not able to reply.
By the way, I just created a flashable zip to fix this issue, try this file: https://uploads.to/3kxvkr1eohy1
I've not checked it, so kindly inform me about how it's working.

I finaly could try your files, but still not working...
But, I took a copy of the files from my miui backup, then copy over the files of the new ROM, and that fix my problem!
I really don't know why now I have to do that on custom ROMs...
The files I have copy are from:
System/etc/WiFi and
System/etc/firmware/wlan/prima
then CHMOD 755 those files
Anyone with a " true " solution?
Cause I think I will have to do that each time I flash a new ROM...
another one have same problem, his solution
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70547565&postcount=257
will try fastboot the MIUI stable instead of MIUI dev, and report after
also, it looks like it works without the workaround with that last build from https://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...&postcount=812
the zip file have some more files in it...

Hi. The best solution is:
1. Make a backup of the EFS partition in TWRP/CWM before installing a new ROM.
2. After installation, go and restore the same.
Cheers.
I'm currently experiencing the same issue since I've installed LineageOS. Isn't there an easy way to solve this issue yet?
Tried to flash NON-HLOS.bin via Fastboot thinking it could work but nothing changed.
