Anyone know if there is one?

I don't know if there is one, but it would be nice if there was a port.
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
there is only the x86 based sdk which you can download and start develop from sailfishos.org . good luck.
I am more of a electronic person than a software/programmer I know a bit but not enough. I can look into though.
NEXUS 4
ROM: CM 10.1 Nightlies
Kernel: Faux123
Theme: Crystal 2
AW: Nexus 4 port?
There are no ports or images for any devices. There's only one image for the Nokia N950 that you can build yourself from meet source in theory. But afaik you can't get the Jolla UI. You could try to build mer with nemo mobile for a nexus device. That sounds doable to me.

yeah. wish to see one port for Nexus 4 ...tks

Jolla is a group consisting of mostly ex-Nokia employees. Considering that, if their culture is anything like Nokia, they are more worried about selling hardware. MeeGo/Maemo was open sourced out of their control. I will be interested to see if we ever see their proprietary UI open sourced. The good news is that as was pointed out, all Sailfish apps will be able to run on MeeGo/Maemo derivatives like Mer.
MAYBE only MAYBE i will port it for GT-i9000 and someone can port it for nexus ... Only MAYBE when i got no exams and so on .. Dont make any hopes it is only mabe

Jolla acctually demostrated a Nexus 7 with Sailfish ported during the conference in China, doesn't function 100% well. But you can at least see the possiblity.

They are hardware guys without hardware. I don't think they have ANY hardware partners yet. I have only seen it running on old Nokia hardware, which I guess says something for its speed.
They love showing off that ambiance thing, but you can do the same effect with CSS and JavaScript on a web page, so I question if what they are showing is not just a trick, or if it is REALLY the OS, because the SDK has NONE of the interface they keep showing off.

So their own device doesn't count?
Wanted to post new youtube videos, but as I don't have 10 posts I can't. Open youtube and search for: Jolla Launches First Sailfish OS Smartphone - Hands-On Demo
You can preorder the device already: jolla.com
sound good

Double tap to unlock idea is worthless in my opinion. But I'd love to see that OS in Nexus devices.

You can get double tap to unlock with the PGM app. Though that's for specific devices. Trust me, double tap to unlock is awesome!

I was intending to buy this device for JB, and because it's cool, but I was wondering, do you guys think there's any chance of installing WP8 into this device?
It would be nice.

Lol didn't mean to thank you, twas a accident.
But anyways, Widows 8 for ARM uses a module called a Trusted Platform Module. Afaik, it is a hardware chip that basically locks the device to Widows 8. That is on top of the signed images and secure boot type of stuff.

we might be able to run windows 8 given that the surface also uses tegra 3, so there could be a possibilty there, just saying, but windows is a pretty good os not that bad like you think, actually not bad at all.

Interesting thing though. The new Microsoft surface tablets use the exact same processor ours do. But, no not gonna happen unless we reach an HTC HD2 level of compatibility

Did nobody read what I wrote? This is not an issue of drivers/compatible hardware/supported hardware or anything like that.
This is an issue of Microsoft locking Windows 8 for ARM to certain tablets using secure boot implemented in the UEFI. They are also using TPMs to lock the tablets to Windows 8.

You don't want a windows 8 device. I have the HTC Titan and I've tried to live with a really limited app selection but it just doesn't work. There isn't even an official Pandora app, and a lot of others are glitchy as hell. The os is pretty bad ass but with JB being as smooth as it is wp7 loses a lot of appeal. My NGex arrives tomorrow.

Actually what your talking about locks windows to the surface tablet, not the other way around. You can easily emulate an insecure UEFI instance, after all that's how hackintoshes work

So, in retrospect, it could be possible to port Windows 8 RT to android devices?

Actually, I do want a Windows 8 device. I'm using a WP7.5 HD2 now. It's not as bad as you say, and as I don't use Pandora, it's not an issue for me. Also, most of the apps I use are not glitchy at all. What are you using?
I'm also not crazy about having that many apps on my device, so I'm totally fine with it. WP7 is a wonderful OS, please don't put it down just because you prefer something else.
I've seen Galaxy Note 10.1, the multi screen was good. Is that possible for GT 2 7.0?
I haven't use any ROM yet. Just stock 4.0.4.

If that matter related to hardware limitation maybe you're right. It's not possible.
Actually, our device already run multitask, but can't show that side by side display.
Except when using the mini apps on the lower nav bar.
This will be great if some devs out there take this challenge and bring something new for the device.
Make this happen.

well our tab might be able to pull it off....i can run a video in dice player and play a light game simultaneously, so i guess its possible...

You wouldn't want such a lousy implemented proprietary feature that only works with proprietary Samsung apps.
There is a company who is working on this http://www.onskreen.com/cornerstone/ and they are open source and releasing source code for developers to work on. I am not so good in compiling from source, any dev out that to take the challenge?

Anyone know of an App or ROM that gives the ability to have a split screen like the Note?
One app open in half the screen and another app in the other half?

Only Samsung ROMs are capable of doing that. Maybe we will get a port, but that requires a lot of Samsung framework. So as of now, no.

It has a version of multiwindow? I thought that was only for like the video player.
Either way, there are plenty of floating apps on the play store that are pretty awesome. Lilypad HD is a floating chat client, Overscrkeen is a floating web browser, and there's a few others as well.

I was looking more for like any app you can put in the split screen. I'm going to check out those apps though. Thanks
there's cornerstone which existed before samsung came and you can be sure thats what samsung probably based theirs on. googles dianne hackborn personally vetoed when cyanogenmod tried to bring in cornerstone, even hinting at legal consequences. afaik it was troublesome and buggy aswell, even samsungs solution was for a couple of apps only, right?

Yes, it was originally only for a couple of apps. But there are some hacked up versions available on XDA that allow it to work perfectly with all apps.
Thanks guys. I'll check out cornerstone on xda.

Has anyone heard any news at all about a possible Note 10.1 port for N10? I'm waiting for some of that MULTI-WINDOW love on this beast of a machine. I've Google searched to no avail and have been scouring the various developer forums over countless websites in search of this white whale. Some has got to be working on this. If I knew how, I would be.

The multi windows is so buggy... just by watching some of the reviews it doesn't work half the time, or not in the way that the user wants it to work - switching between the apps is good enough for me.
I only asked asked about it because I am a college student and would love to have my chemical equations pdf open in one window while I'm inputing stats into the calculator side by side.

Plus, I know it won't be as simple as porting the multi-window function. The entire touchwiz sytle rom would have to be ported.

You can give this a try: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ragingtools.tinyappslite
It's not exactly what you want, but close to it. Also a multiwindow browser: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.appestry.split_browser_trial

I have this iPhone 4 that I don't use, and I remember from something I read (probably an official Mozilla forum) about the iPhone being supported but I can't find the page again. I was wondering if anyone knew about a port of Firefox OS for the iPhone 4?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
I really don't see how it would be possible to run Firefox os on an I phone because i believe is based in Linux and would require a Linux kernel. I'm pretty sure that iOS devices are not based in Linux so you would need a new motherboard compatible with the I phone hardware that ran android
sent from my nex7
I think there' s no possibilty to see firefox on iPhone!
It makes sense that it wouldn't work, but I thought iOS was UNIX based?
Sent from my LG-LS980 using XDA Free mobile app
I'm really not sure if it is Unix or linux based since I don't really do anything with Firefox os but either way there's no way I would run on an iphone
sent from my nex7
Aside from needing drivers for the hardware (which I imagine isn't completely proprietary to the iOS hardware), FFXOS needs an unlocked bootloader to work.
I'm not entirely sure the bootloader on any iOS device has been successfully replaced yet.
Why dont you sell the iphone and buy a Nexus instead? Fully supported by Mozilla and a Tier 1 device.
it's impossible
