Or just clear the app data, no need to go back and change time back to normal then. You can even set a script up and make a homescreen shortcut so it's just 1 click and done.

reality check !!

Apparantly I am still in the early stages of noobism, after a week and a half of rooting lol,, go figure.. anyways any help with these simple questions will be greatly appreciated.
I finally found a hero rom (evil d 2.0) that stays sharp and clear after screen timeout, and finally had some time to play with hero. Just a few quick questions now that I have new things on my phone.
1: What should I set my cpu speed to ? I put it on 528/245 and kept getting multiple force closes, went back to default, not as many fc's. Went back to 528/245, this time not as many fc's, but just as many as with default settings. Whats recommended ? most sigs I read i see 528/245.
2: One reason I believe Im experiencing lag and constant ( about 3-4 times an hour depending on use) htc/loading screens is that I have yet to mess with swap as I prefer to be sure and safe after feedback.. Whats recommended ?
3: I keep getting touchflo fc's, and not to sure how to fix that ? diff rom ? reflash ? rom w/o touchflo ? how crucial is touchflo to the hero experience ?
Lastly: Why the [email protected] does my phone place me in detroit when I live 1000 miles away in Washington Dc ? lol, I have gps on, when I do a locate or google maps, it places me exactly where I am, but all the htc widgets, (weather/time/combo) all say fracking detroit ! lol,, nothing against michigan, but I would prefer to know the weather where I live !!
also, how many widgets recommended to keep things speedy, if the above inquiries dont solve my problem. I currently have quite a few, (mobile buzz, gaming buzz, time/weather, people, meridian music 2x4 ( htc music players fc's waaaay to much), 4 settings widgets, launcher dock, fml and the handcent widget), but no shortcuts, just widgets.
is there a way to reduce # of screens ? I prefer 5.
thanks all
Yes, try 2xx. ;D
Seriously tho, play with swap and swappiness, that will have an actual effect.

BlitzBrigrade Optimization

If you havent already known theres a game called
"BlitzBrigrade"
and well its a clone of TF2 But for Mobile, Amazing!
Many Users on the Xperia Play say that the Game has Bad FPS and is Unplayable because the game has bad Optimization for the Play
Well im here to fix that, because i wont let all of you Die Hard fans play with that Ghetto Touch Screen!
So here is my Guide:
1.) Put the Graphics on Low, Go into the game settings and Video and set it to Performance and exit the Game, not only will this save battery, but it will increase performance!
2.) Freeze most Apps that run in the Background; Here is a great guide!
Why?
BlitzBrigrade isnt a Cpu Game, its more of a Ram game, so in this case its better to allow the game to eat up ram and let it "Roam"
3.) Download and Flash: Adrenaline Boost
Now download and install Terminal Emulator and type :
--1.) su
--2.) boost
Then wait till everything stops moving and Press Menu>Close
Alternatively Run the Flush Command in the SuperCharger V6 Script (If u have it)
5.) Start up the game in XP Mode(Gamepad open) And leave the phone idle with the process running for about 3-5 Minutes (Set Screen Dim to 5 mins) This allows the app to Start Building Dalvik Cache ( Do this Straight after Step 3)
6.) Now The Last tip is to Always keep ur thumb on the Left touchpad and try to remove ur finger from the right one as LITTLE as Possible, This is just something i found out due to Weeks of experience and Testing
If this dosent work Tell my in the Comments!
ENJOY!
Nice Tips, but in here, the game performance is perfect! I thought that already well optimized.
the only problem on this game is the touchpad . sometimes one of the touchpad not giving response . you can't move+camera at same times .

Yes i used to Get that ALL the time and it was annoying, but the 6th tip is to Keep ur finger on the left one so it dosent do that,it does it cus of Direct input getting mixed up and then shuts one down,or something like that...

Same,Im on Atomic GB and its buttery smooth without any of this, im not joking, but all i have is Adreno Booster 2.0 (performance edition) and i use the boost script before i play ANY game and everythings smooth and Blitz Brigrade can run on Optimal (or otherwise known as High)

[BATTERY] Post your Sprint GS5 battery stats/findings/problems/tips/etc!

Post anything related to battery!
Here are some tips to help you get the longest battery life and on screen time possible on your S5.
1. Root and debloat (Sprint and Samsung apps). More details here.
2a. Download Greenify from the Play Store and Greenify apps that you see waking your device (ie: Twitter, Facebook, Play Store, Google Search, etc.)
-----2b. Buy Greenify donate version and you can Greenify apps and still receive notifications from those apps!
3. When you go to sleep, turn on power saving mode and turn ON the following options within power saving mode: block background data, restrict performance (with everything checked).
4. At around 5-10% left, turn on ultra power saving mode to help get you through the rest of the day/night!
5. Don't have a million apps installed, a rogue app can deplete your battery (through wakelocks, background CPU usage, etc.) and it only takes one bad app to spoil your whole battery!
6. If you don't use GMail, or Facebook or Twitter, etc alot, then turn OFF auto sync for those apps.
7a. Go to Google Settings, then Location, then Google laction reporting and turn location reporting OFF.and Mode on Power Saving.
-----7b. Go to Android Device Manager in Google settings and turn off "remotely locate this device".
8a. Turn dark mode on for apps that have this option.
-----8b. Download and install "blacked out apps".
9. Turn off things such as smart stay, smart pause (rarely every works for me anyway) OFF.
10. Keep your brightness low if possible (cloudy day, night time, indoors, etc.).
Feel free to add any.
Screenies: Was literally using non stop, to compare my S4 would only go to 3hr 10min on screen time (highest I got out of the whole time I had it). Was in good signal area most of the time, but also sometimes I was in a not so great signal area. Anyways, I'm xtremely happy with 5hrs on screen time and almost a day total! Barely had my phone in my pocket the whole day/night!
What does blacked out apps do? I cant find it on the play store.

All I can say is THANK YOU! I downloaded and purchased the Greenify and installed Xposed, wow is all I can say! Talk about hardly eating much battery at all once I did this. Thank you for your information.

Tempted to install xposed. Seems like a lot of cool **** you can do with it.
Changed the thread a bit peeps.

[GUIDE] Extreme Battery thread AND ADVANCE SETUP GUIDE

As we all know the battery life is a lot batter in Z2 but still some one said that "A HUMAN IS NEVER SATISFIED." We like to get a much as possible from what we have... I am one of them.
So I put up a thread giving step by step guide to set up the device the best way possible.
1. Flash the ROM that you would like to use.
2. After flashing the rom, reboot the phone and set it up.
3. Flash the kernel that you would like to use and UV it by -50 mV.
4. Go to Settings>wifi>Options>Advance> UNCHECK "Scanning always available". Also uncheck NFC services in settings.
5. If you are not using location services all the time than you can do the following as well and you can enable the location services whenever you need them.
Go to GOOGLE SETTINGS APP>Location> UNCHECK "Access Location"
google settings app>maps & lattitude. UNCHECK "report from this device"
6. Install SYSTEM TUNER PRO with GREEN ICON old version. There are other apps that can do the same thing so you guys can use any other apps that supports disabling services. I use this one because of additional features.
This is the link for the latest version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.pmw.pro
7. Follow the guide in my video. The link is below: It will remove useless wakelocks from apps like google wallet, google talk, google plus, IF YOU ARE NOT USING THEM.
Video with DISCLAIMER :
I will update the video when I am little bit free from my job.
Link (If Video is not showing here): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUBpOl77Tm4
Thread with DISCLAIMER : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2357417 Thanks to SKIPJACKS
8. Install Greenify and Greenify Donation. Links are below:
You need to install XPOSED FRAMEWORK for the Donation app to work.
Greenify: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify
Greenify Donation: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.oasisfeng.greenify.pro
Xposed Framework: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327541
9. Greenify all user apps and some of the system apps. To greenify the system we dont need xposed framework anymore starting from latest BETA versions.
10. Go to setting>MORE> DISABLE NFC Services.
11. Open up system tuner pro.
Go to build prop>presets
TICK following:
Power saver (It will give good standby battery)
There are a lot more tweaks available that you can use as well.
And Reboot.
12. In the new greenify app there is an option to CUT the connection of the app that is waking up the services.
Now for example,
I am using swift key keyboard not the android keyboard that comes with the rom, but android keyboard also wakes up GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES and keeps it running, so I cut the wake-up path. So now android keyboard will not wake-up GOOGLE PLAY SERVICES.
SO you need to find out which apps are waking-up the system apps and cut the wake-up paths IF THE APP IS NOT IMPORTANT.
13. Disable or reduce animations from DEVELOPERS SETTING. It will give faster response at cost of less animations.
14. Use Titanium Backup and uninstall or freeze the apps that you are not using. Like : Email, ANT service, Xperia Keyboard Etc.
15. Download and install Xorware 2G/3G/4G Swticher and Interface Pro.
It automates the network mode while screen is off or on. When screen is off it will switch the network to 2G or anything you would like to be. YOU CAN COMPLETELY CUSTIMISE THE OPERATION BASED ON YOUR NEEDS.
Xorware 2G/3G/4G Switcher: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xorware.network.s2g3g.xposed.switcher
Xorware 2G/3G/4G Interface RPO : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.xorware.network.s2g3g.settings
It is an xposed Module which requires xposed framework.
16. Fix for the external SD card write permissions.
1. Use Root Explorer
2. Go to System > etc > permissions
3. Open file named "platform.xml" with editing tool
4. find a line "name="android.permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE" >"
5. Add line after
6. Save it and exit than reboot the phone.
After doing all of these, I am able to achieve around 6 to 7 Hours screen on time with HEAVY to normal use with total time of around 25 to 28 hours minimum.
Brightness : 10 to 30% all times
gaming for around 2 hrs.
Either wifi or mobile data ON all times.
CREDIT goes to all of the developers of ROM, MODs, and APPs...
Nice, but 6-7hours sot with z2 is nothing, you dont even have to save power, dont wanna sound rude but its true. With everything turned off, brightness on 10-30% as you said it should be upto 10hours if you have good signal.
As far as i know , Sony 4.4.2 doesn't support ART
Yes, credit for you for this guide but without root, custom roms and undervolting, just stamina mode on, I got around 6 hours 14 minutes SOT and 29% of battery remaining. This included watching around 2 hours of wifi World Cup final on the phone, lots of web browsing, a bit of skype. Brightness around 25% indoors.

If you're only watching a video or reading an ebook maybe. Doesn't equate to the general masses with heavy online usage. The guide is very good.

You're a light user(on this device) as long as you're not playing high def games.
I remember getting only 3-4 hrs SOT when playing Injustice everytime the phone would charge enough. XD

Apps getting shut down

Is it me or is the app management still buggy? I had this problem on OP3 too [emoji848]
I was editing a video, when done I went to SoundCloud to download a music file. Then I went back to recents and the video app had to start again, making me lose the video I made [emoji849]
What is the use of 6, 8 or even 10 GB ram if the most recent app gets killed?
Very frustrating indeed
Yup, likewise. Particularly when the screen is off, background apps get quite aggressively killed. I've seen this for runtastic and cf.lumen.
I have the same problem.
Have you tried disability battery optimization feature?
I read few minutes ago that it can help and I'm going to try this.
You can also lock the app in the multitasking screen, using the 3 dots. I use it for Plus Beat to cover the missing led.
1. You can disable the battery optimization.
2. It may not be the phone but the app itself that is wonky. The reason I can say this is because I often times play a game and take a break to scroll through social media and reply to somethings and go back and the heavy game is still open. Part of that social media is youtube by the way.
