did you charge battery with stripped usb or charger wires, direct to battery connections?

Yea )=

you likely fried your phone
no fix that I know of, could try replacing battery

Phone won't reboot!

So i got this phone in a soft brick maybe... My knowledge regarding the droid 2 is essentially small. The phone will not boot up,it got stuck on the motorola logo, i was told that the phone was rooted and flashed with some sort of gingerbread, so i booted into recovery and did a factory reset...still after the reset the phone is still stuck in the motorola logo. Is there any one click restore or any link that might help me get it working again? Thanks in advance
You're going to have to sbf your phone back to froyo.

try ezSBF
also read about SBF in droid wiki and FAQs, links in my sig
edit: try this one
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-2-hacks/161849-tool-ezsbf.html
that link may not work, thought it had been updated
you need SBF, RSD Lite, and Motorola drivers
in think latest SBF is 2.3.20
you might find downloads here

Battery Not Charging

So I rooted my friends Droid 2 that's what's in firmware 2.3.4 . I used the method in rootwikiz with the bootable CD. After that I install bootstrap recovery and flash the new AOKP v39 beta. So after that phone bootup and everything fine but the battery won't charge. So I try another battery and phone boot up but the other battery won't go down. Its stuck at 100%. It won't charge the other battery. Or light up when I connected to charge

There are so many ways to boot your phone by pressing buttons ... Did you "Step 1: Boot into the bootloader, press and hold the up and down volume buttons power on device (continue to hold the up and down volume buttons)"? You get a simple black and white bootscreen with
Battery OK
OK to Program
Connect USB
Data Cable
(as seen here at 1:40)
This is the mode where you can sbf your phone. (AFAIK. I SBFed my phone once and got many tips like "boot into blabla and press yaddayadda" I lost track wich one was actually working. This one should do the trick.)
data cable is bad, try other
I follow the guide the process reaches 100%, without the phone restarts, after a while appears that mistake

No. Rooting does nothing more than give you superuser access.
But once you have su access then you will be able to tweak your phone with a custom rom, remove bloatware. Root gives you the ability to dl applications like Titanium Backup and remove (not recommended) or freeze bloatware and unwanted apps, hence making your phone faster. It will give you the ability to install a custom kernel and THAT will give you the ability to overclock your cpu and that literally will make your cpu speed faster theoretically making said phone faster.
No matter what anyone tells you, root in itself does nothing more than give you SuperUser access.

no, some newer moto devices got a hack to unlock bootloader, but nothing with a omap like D2,DX, D3...
locked and encrypted bootloader on several popular Motorola phones has been exploited, ...not OMAP powered phones

Uncertain`
Hi:
I'm totally new to this, so i apologize in advance if I'm posting int he wrong place. I've looked everywhere and can't find what I need. I have a factory reset Verizon Droid X 2.3.6 621. My first foray into this stuff was rooting my Kindle Fire first gen. That went really well, so now I'm going to try this. What I want to do is, in no particular order, since I don't know what to do first, is: I've already done the factory reset. Now I need to either flash my droid to cricket or have it done, root it, and install some custom roms. I've noticed the T-mobile one that came out yesterday, I'm downloading it now.
Anyway, is there anyone willing to kind of dumb this down for me? Like a step by step kind of thing. I'm familiar enough with the terminology to understand what a bootloader is, but when I rooted my kindle i just connected it to my pc, and ran some programs. This seems a lot more complicated. I also know that I want it to run as fast as possible, isn;t that overclocking? Heard the term, have absolutely no idea how to do it. I am pretty technology savvfy, and very good at following directions. So any help will be greatly appreciated! And do I come back here to see if I get any responses? Oh, and I know this sounds like such a girl thing to say, but since I am one I'll say it. I like being able to customize my launcher, the pretty stuff works for me. I'm running ICE on my kindle with go launcher ex. I really want to try one of the MIUI roms, but every one I've flashed has gotten me stuck in a boot loop, don't know why. So if anyone knows of a stable MIUI for Kindle fire first gen, I would love to hear about.
Thanks everyone!
DebraK
