Just recently my phone has stopped making any sound during phone calls. There's no sound through the speaker or the earpiece. Mobile data and SMS still work fine. Any possible solutions?

flash the newest radio. are you using an older radio on a 4.2.2 rom?
That fixed it, thanks.

I'm having the same issue plus constant loss of signal. T-Mobile says its the tower in my area, my fiance's amaze works just fine. Phone is getting returned today.

My phone is stock and is doing the same thing. No sound during call on either end (they cant hear me I cant hear them) No ringtone. However groove ip, and skype works fine for phone calls.
Like Simms said, flash the newest .48 baseband radio. That should fix the problem. If you're on the 4.2.2 and on .33, the issue you described will appear.

Hey guy, I have the N4 for tmobile and I have had problems with people calling and not getting though it just sends them straight to voice mail and not pop up to notify me and not ring but when I call out the voicemail pop's up. Anyone having this problem?

I am having this issue as well. It doesn't happen all the time but it does happen

Yeah, I think it happens mostly when I leave it alone for a bit.

Bump. Anyone else have this problem? Sometimes I don't get texts and calls go straight to voicemail, I have to restart my phone and that fixes it for a while. It happens randomly. Haven't figured out a pattern yet.
I have had this happen a couple times on both of my Nexus 4 devices.
I have had this happen in the morning. Not sure if it is carrier dependent. I am with Wind.
Yeah happend to me twice !
Same here, T-Mobile in Florida

I'm on T-Mo in VA and the latest CM10.1 nightly and it seems like my phone almost never rings. I am constantly getting "Missed call" notifications. And despite having Google Voice installed, the only messages I get are from the T-Mo VM. Weird....
This has been happening to my wifes Nexus 4 but not mine. It usually only happens in the mornings when the phone has been sitting for a while, after she restarts it, it seems to work fine. Does anyone know a fix for this???
This was happening to me a lot at first, I went to tmobile and got a new mini sim card b/c i cut my old one down and know it seems fine b/c im not waking up to voice mails and no miss calls.

I haven't updated to 4.2.2 yet because I want to keep LTE
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
Yeah it works fine, but you will need to unlock the bootloader if you have not already.
I understand but I heard that GPS stops working, I use GPS a lot so I'm hesitant to update to 4.2.2 and flash .33

just updated and no problem
noticed no problem in a week..
gps keeps working..
For the last few days I was running 4.2.2 with the old .33 radio and that screwed up my phone. I lost the basic feature to make calls. I could dial but I could not hear it ringing. When the other person would puck up the phone, I didn't hear anything and I couldn't even talk through the mic. I thought my mic was broken but it was the freaking baseband. After I flashed baseband.48, it fixed the problem!

When I went to 4.2.2 and then flashed my radio down, I lost the ability to hear phone calls, or them hear me. As soon as I went back to .48 (whatever the stock newest one is), it worked fine again. I also had a lot of signal drops with both .33 and I think it was .24? More than usual that is : \

I've also had no issues for using .33 Radio on 4.2.2
I've had multiple phone calls with no issues.
Tested GPS in the wild (while in car) and no issues.
Data works fine in the wild (when not connected to Wifi)
Does the flash method make a difference? Flashing via TWRP vs. Flashing using fastboot command?
I used fastboot myself to copy the radio.img over.
Updated to 4.2.2 and realized I had lost access to LTE with the new radio. I switched back to .33 and haven't had any issues.

Are you running 4.2.2 with a non .48 radio? AKA did you enable LTE on 4.2.2?
i don't know and i don't think so, i was on PA 4.2.2 when i tried 0.47, 0.33, 0.27(?), i tried almost all modems, then i tried stock 4.2.1 (i bought my nexus 4 with 4.2.2), then i tried CM RC1 but never worked. I hope i can make it work without changing it. Thanks for the reply.

If you did all that then I guess it is a hardware issue.
First for the sake of trying give it a good shake ,cause the earpiece might have slipped for less than a mm.
If that doesn't help then you will have to either RMA or open the device and perform an earpiece exchange.

Before you go swapping hardware I suggest you flash the full 4.2.2 stock image from Google. Bootloader, radio, everything. Then, check if the problem persists.

I bought the phone with Google's pure 4.2.2, tried also original 4.2.1. Same question as before? Is it possible that the problem will persist?
Its highly unlikely it's a hardware problem if you have audio with internet calling. As I said before, flash the full stock image including an wipe with fastboot.

+1
RMA if you can before trying to change any hardware yourself, but this does sound like an earpiece problem
I'll try 4.2.2 stock. I'll keep you updated.
I had the same problem but it was fixed after I flashed the latest radio.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2147194
Nothing worked (flashing/factory reset/downgrading) so I returned back the phone. The new one has no problem.
I had the same problem.. everything working fine in all apps except for normal calls. Even after resetting to stock Google image. After some digging I found the application Soundabout. It has an option to disable the check if a headphones has been inserted or not. After ticking the checkbox to disable the headphone check I could call again with the earpiece.
Funny thing tough, after reflasing my phone with CM 10.1 it still worked. Even on the stock Google image after re-enabling the headphones check I was able to make calls again with the earpiece. Really really strange problem.
You can find the app here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix&hl=nl
Altough you already replaced your phone it might be usefull for other people with the same problem.
Hello! Well my Nexus 4 has once again stopped functioning normally
I'm on 4.3 stock ROM.(rooted)
The problem is that I can't hear anyone on the other end during a phone call nor can they hear me. Also there is no ringing tone when calling someone.
Help would greatly appreciated.

Im having this same problem but im on cm10.2 anybody else having this too????
I fixed mine with the one of the hybrid modems. If you are on an older modem like .33 maybe try the .84 or hybrid if you want LTE.
Hey guys,
Quick question. Has any SPRINT user been successful in activating and using the nexus 6p gold edition? I purchase one and was able to activate it just fine. However, I am unable to receive calls. I have tried everything and also went to a sprint store and they can't seem to get it to work either. I have tried multiple SIM cards with same issue. I recently purchased a 64GB silver edition and it works just fine. So I am curious to see if anyone else has been able to get the GOLD edition to work properly?
Thank you
I do not have the issue nor do I have the gold model but I'd update Prl and reboot and see if it still does it. If so I'd try flashing factory image via fastboot.

Thank you for your help. I have updated the PRL with no success. Also, I have re-flashed the stock 6.0.1 Build MMB29Q with no luck.
I loaded CM13 and the phone actually seemed to operate a little better. I received calls at first but about 1 hour later i stopped receiving calls.
One thing I should add...If I put the phone in 3g mode (turning LTE off) while running the stock 6.0.1 rom I receive calls just fine. It is only when I am connected to LTE that I do not receive calls. I can make calls, browse the web, and send text just fine.

There were people on Nexus 6 who experienced this same exact thing a few months ago. That's the device I owned prior to 6p. I never had the issue but I recall some people over on the Sprint Nexus 6 thread talking about this same thing. I'd check there for sure.

Yeah.
It's very aggravating. I've tried everything I can think of. I purchased another nexus 6p silver which works fine but the screen has a terrible pinkish hue at the top right corner. The gold edition screen is almost perfect. I was hoping I could fix the gold edition.

Like the other guy stated I have the N6 which was on Sprint but immediately after switching to Fi and using the ROM that was initially just for Fi I have never had the problem again with the same phone. I am now using the latest ROM which is independent of carrier and still problem free.
