Recently i installed the Qualcomm's Snapdragon Battery Guru, i uninstalled it after it stopped my hotmail account getting automatic push updates, but even after uninstalling it i still don't receive updates, i have checked various setting under my sync options for the email account and have check frequency> automatic(push) and days to sync> one day, any body have an idea of what the problem could be?

I bought the phone because it was supposed to have Exchange Activesync support, which i believe is by default a push solution, where new e-mail, contacts and calender appointments are automatically pushed as they are received/created.
However, after setting up the the Exchange account on HTC Legend, the default option was to sync ever 15 minutes ?! That is not push at all!
I then manually changed the option to "sync as items arrive", which by normal logic should be push. However, when this option is turned on, it seems the phone is continuously looping through e-mail, contacts and calendar, communicating over the network all the time. At least that is what it looks like from the animations on the sync screen.
That is NOT what push mail should be - such behaviour would suck out the battery life real quick.
So does anyone here know, is the push mail thing on HTC LEgend just a hoax or what is going on ?!?
Enabling the "sync as items as arrive" should have done the trick. However in some cases it's also necessary to enable the "Data Roaming" option. Have you tried enabling Data roaming?
ps.
I use the default Exchange support as well as Moxier mail to sync two Exchange server accounts. I use Push mail for both accounts and it works flawlessly.
This is a old topic but if it really doesn't work out, try with the stock AOSP/CM6.1 Email.apk instead of HTC's Mail.apk
Reads as "Automatic (Push)" in the settings
I've set up an email exchange account and set to manual updates. For whatever reason, I can't get the account to update manually, it's always sending push notifications. I've tried removing and re-installing the account to no avail.
It's not the biggest problem but I just wonder how much battery it's draining throughout the day since I don't know of its check intervals.

Push emails are very good on power consumption. I think the polling time or handshake is set on the exchange server.
Hi,
I'm pretty sure the stock email app is syncing through push, altough it's set to check mails only every hour. Mails are received on my phone even before they show up in Outlook.
Is it just imagination? BBS shows more alarms for the email app than needed for syncing my 3 accounts once an hour. I've noticed this behaviour since many wipes, using different gapps.
Hello All,
So I recently upgraded the OS from KK(4.4) to 5.0.2 through FOTA update method.
Since then, every few hours, the Email default application loses sync. The main sync button appears to be on but when I enter the Exchange account account settings, I see that sync isn't marked.
Once I mark the sync option, it works well. but then again, after a few hours, getting off again.
please help!
Thank you!
Nir.
Hello...?
you got a 5.0.2 update ?
I have the exact same issue. This has been nagging me for a while now since I upgraded to Lollipop.
Regularly, as I notice absence of traffic on my Corporate email (exchange server account), I go to the accounts settings only to find out all sync options unchecked. And as soon as I check them, email starts coming in again, until the next time.
This occurs after anything from an hour to a few days. Very annoying as it renders my corp email very unreliable...
After a few days with the last UK firmware (build PE2) I did not receive any notification from Inbox about new email arrived. I can see the emails entering the app and by doing that I am asked to activate the account sync, but trying to activate it I see that any sync option for the Google account is disabled and I can't change anything (Gmail, Inbox, Contacts, Chrome etc etc)
I tried to cancel the account and recreate it but it did not sort out the problem. I've read in the net that it might be a conflict between doze and the Google account and that this bug is present with many Android phones with Marshmallow
Any advice to get rid of this problem? Many thanks!
