Yeah its the 4.1.2 update, its PDA is N7100XXDMB2 though, which is behind XDMB4.

Have just noticed a Spanish update has been released today with the same build number as the rest but the build date is slightly newer than the BTU one and has the newer PDA of XDMB4. It's got the region code as PHE. Does anyone know whether it is unbranded??
EDIT: Just flashed the Spanish PHE rom. No branding, newer build date of 12.02.13, all working well.

It seems on par with 4.1.1 to me. I flashed about 8am and got home at 7pm with 78 percent left on light useage today. Too early to make a definite decision though. Overall I'm just happy to be rid of the brick bug

Tried ota and kept getting that silly message about waiting and try again later, tried kies and it was playing up as usual freezing, so I ended up downloading latest uk btu from samfirmware and flashing with odin
Samsung make such awesome phones but give us the worst pc software ever, kies makes me scream every time!
See how my battery does today

I reverted to 4.1.1 a few days ago to do a battery test for my usage so will update to 4.1.2 again with this BTU release to test that later and compare like for like.
My impression so far is that 4.1.1 is 20-30% longer-lasting for my usage pattern (I can be a heavy user one day when traveling then ultra-light for the next 3, and 4.1.1 really excels at idle time) but I will report back with screens to the battery info thread on here.

That leaves crappy O2 (O2U) as the last provider to not have released 4.1.2!

Am happy with the Spanish XXDMB4, getting good battery life for my usual usage needs.
Phone has been on for over 16 hours, 2hr 19m of screen time, which included 15mins of browsing and downloading plus 40 min of the Dark Knight Rises game and still have 60% battery left.
Needless to say all is very smooth and fast (have lowered the animations etc to x0.5)...very pleased :good:

I'll be flashing DMB4 (PHE) later and doing a 'heavy user' test, followed by a more 'medium-light' test over the next few days.
I don't expect much difference from DLK7 / DMB2 but I'll be happy to be surprised

Galaxy Note Firmware Update 101.48mb

HI im just downloading as im typing this Galaxy note unlocked UK Spec i did flash the Car phone WareHouse firmware last month is this ICS??? Any one else tried updating there Note today ???
Doubtful, think ICS will be a full wipe, probably around 500mb.
I went to see if there were any updates for mine on O2 and got really excited when a 2 part Samsung disclaimer came up... Then realised I had to refresh recently and this was the first time I'd done an ota search
Rest easy, it will come soon enough
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
It will just be the LC1/LB2 update. An ICS update would be significantly larger than ~100MB.
I just got the update last night and you are correct it is the LC1 update. Just wondering though would the change log be the same for this version as the roms? If not where could we find the change log ? The only real difference I've noticed is the S memo menu now has an option to only detect S pen input and the lock screen has changed slightly. Any other info would be greatly appreciated

Samsung doesn't release changelogs for firmware updates. If i am not mistaken, they released a powerpoint/pdf showing the touchwiz differences from GB to ICS for the galaxy S II.

only other notable (sorry!) change is the option for a "one-handed" portrait keyboard and removal of banding on black images (eg. lockscreen) which previously affected some devices.
Several folks have said that the s-pen accuracy is improved and the lag is decreased too. I think I've noticed that too - while I'm pretty sure the s-pen can now be much more accurately positioned on-screen, the lagginess improvement may be pure placebo (the phone UI is in general slightly more smooth after the update, and the brain does funny things sometimes).
Not they but t was done by sammobile site

I want an unlocked device, n7100? Or should i wait for n7105?

I definitely want an unlocked Note II. I'd like LTE, but is it really necessary? Not sure if it's worth paying for a higher priced data plan?
What are others thinking on this?
Well, LTE is along way off in my area. I just ordered the n7100 tonight. I'm not much if a data hog and figure HSPA+ is plenty fast enough. Honestly, I'd rather have faster updates than a chance to connect to LTE. The carriers in the US are so slow to roll out anything new. Different strokes for different folks though.

Well, both the N7100 and the N105 are both unlocked so you wouldn't have to worry about carriers either way..
As far as I know N7105's not supported on this forum right? ROM, CWM are all not flashable?
Well, it's not out yet, so the ROMs here will not work on it. But, the name of this forum is 'Galaxy Note II' not 'N7100' so I assume that when the time comes, you will be able to find roms for the N7105 here.

Well, I have an N7105, and I flashed it using Odin and CWM both of which I got off this forum and it worked fine for me. Now I am just waiting for more people to get this phone so the Stock ROM can be released on this forum as well. I'd like the option to un-root it for warranty reasons. Anyways, the flashing definitely worked.

Attached are my AnTuTu benchmark test results. And, yes, mine is the LTE enabled version (SHV-E250L, N7105).
What is weird is that the top phone listed on the Bar Chart part of the AnTuTu test results is the Galaxy Note II but my test results, as you can see, came in 4 below - even below the Galaxy SIII. Anyone know any possible reasons why? Did I do the benchmark wrong? Should I have closed all my background apps and processes? I am really confused now...

Pretty good actually. With moderate to high usage (Netflix, Web searching, etc.) the Battery lasts me at around 8 - 10 hours. When it gets to about 15%, I usually just switch out the battery for the fully charged and included second battery. So far, I've never really had a problem with battery life.

I would strongly advise against upgrading to 4.1.2 as there is a massive power drain when idle. I have made several tweaks and disabled a lot of apps, and in betterbatterystats there doesn't seem to be anything causing any problems... yet there is a 18% battery drain over 6 hours overnight!!
I'm gunna switch back to 4.1.1

I actually switched to 4.1.2 very soon after I got the phone, so don't remember much from the older version. Is there much battery drain on the 4.1.1 ?
UK Unbranded (BTU) is still on 4.1.1
All the UK carriers have updated the N7100 to 4.1.2 though.
Is all this applicable to the 7105 too - drain on 4.1.2 and carriers updating to it while unbranded not updated? mine says modified now so I dont know if theres an OTA or not.
Might wait for 4.2 anyway by the sound of it, nothing to be gained from 4.1.2, only worse battery.

My main concern is whilst idle.. Not many complaints about when in use, it's just the constant draining when my phone screen is "off"
It is soooo much hassle and effort for me to switch back to 4.1.1...... Is there any big improvements on 4.1.2 that i'll miss?

Unbranded, unlocked GT-7100 - bought from Samsung directly:
Just called Samsung Telephone Support - +44 (0)1932 454358 - polite but as useful as a chocolate teapot....
They said the only version available for the phone was 4.1.1 - I respond with a degree of conviction and anger that was not the case! I was fobbed off by "you should getting update shortly".......
Yes, Samsung - one way to piss your customer off is ignore them. Next time I will seriously think I will opt for a Nexus which can be relied upon to have the latest version of Android available quickly rather than months to wait....

I use my phone a lot for web, Facebook, Twitter, about half an hour to one hour of calls, 10 to 20 sms, a lot of whatsapp messages, and lately at least 2 hours of netflix series every night. Usually never drops to less than 20% when i go plug it.

The battery drain occurs when the phone is left alone for several hours. I don't notice any problems in general use
Note2 a premium device with a premium price...but definitely not a premium support..the main reason this update should have been pushed fast is because of the security hole and the sudden death bug..! Sod the extra features..! They could have at least released a bug fixed version of 4.1.1..??? Another question is why do samsung use the UK as a launch pad for latest phones and yet we are last to get support..????

Decided to take the plunge with this stock ROM. Been running for 25hrs now, Flashed with battery at 100% and as i type this battery is at 70%. Usage has been 60mins Bluetooth audio, installing all my 43 apps from play store, dozen texts, 10mins of calls, 10mins of internet and email. I expect in 28hrs time it will be given its first charge since flashing.
No lag, no heat, brill battery time, and fast n smooth.
Also , something to note for other users, I'm not on Vodafone, in fact I'm on three(uk), this ROM chose the correct csc for me, i had expected to input my carrier settings myself, this was not the case.

No lag, no heat, brill battery time, and fast n smooth.
Also , something to note for other users, I'm not on Vodafone, in fact I'm on three(uk), this ROM chose the correct csc for me, i had expected to input my carrier settings myself, this was not the case.

Not really something new and no surprise. Sky tries to protect Sky Go and so it is completely understandable that they will stop it working on rooted devices.

who think that jelly bean was better???

Who think that jellybean was more stable and fast and great then kitkat ????
Im on MJ7 and since the kitkat update leaked im thinking of updating but not sure because theres no going back.On MJ7 i have no issues whatsoever (at least none that i know of) battery life with powesaver is also very good 2 days.Any advice should i upgrade?
It is because it is the first release. Just wait the next KitKat version, flash it and wipe your phone, it must be better than Jellybean.
thats what i thought but it past 1 month and nothing new from sammy.. :S
Hallos,
I upgraded from mj7 yesterday. I use Crashrom v4.3 kk. It is just as stable and alot faster then JB. The only problem i encountered was that tomtom couldnt find its drawer on extSdCard. Copying it to internal SD solved it. Not a great solution but i expect it to be fixed soon. Batterylife is absoluteluly great for me, better then my JB was. Hope this helps.

I think that na06 kitkat is just great the only downside is that there are no custom kernels for it yet,but we will get there in time.

There's a couple of custom kernels available.

kitkat my opinion, faster, more stable, it consumes very little battery even with the stock kernel

I use as a kernel-civiz katEngime. excellent
Im very happy with the stock na1 firmware on my phone. Its an n9002 anyway so I dont have much of a choice. I'd probably stick to this firmware until something really major comes out.
Absolutely kitkat is better, more smooth yhen jelly bean. Honest opinion.

The real question is not if JB was "greatest ever", the real question is if KK brings (much) more advantages than disadvantages.
JB 4.3:
- stable, extremely well tested
- no SD problem
- voice recorder
- I am on MI7 bootloader and I can install any stock Samsung 4.3 and still have Knox 0x0 and root
KK 4.4.2:
- unstable in many configurations
- new SD permisssions, many older programs have problems
- no voice recorder
- no coming back after the new bootloader
- there WILL be another KK release from Samsung to fix known problems
- only apparent advantage is better battery and somehow better latency (mostly in stock programs) - but on my 4.3 configuration I already have excellent battery (my record is 4 days and almost 10 hours of screen) and I am using programs like Apex launcher and exDialer that already have excellent latency in most of my normal tasks.
So for the moment I am staying with 4.3. and being very happy with it
EDIT:
Also an advantage of KK is the fact that there seems to be more free memory (which IMHO is just the video driver no longer reserving stuff in advance). But since I have most of the stuff that I do not use frozen in Titanium Backup I have plenty of memory for the moment (I am coming from an i9300 where you were basically getting less than 800MB in total, around 300MB free in stock-derived ROMs, so from under 300MB to 1000+ is kind of OK for my immediate needs )
Im also holding back to upgrade to KK,
I've got no issues so far with my rooted MK2. I know there's no turning back once you jumped shipped to KK, so i'm patiently waiting for a more stable release before i let my itchy hands loose
I'm perfectly happy on 4.3.

I'm playing with the idea. One day I want it. Next I don't. . Purely based on user reviews and personal experience using Stock 4.4 in another device.
Waiting on BTU update. . Frustrating!

Same here. But I havent tried a kitkat rom yet
NA6 + NA7 had fixes to my previous MJ1 problems, and reacts faster to my actions.
Hence, KK for me.
I was sitting on the fence too about upgrading to KK nut as I have 2 note 3's I thought bugger it, I'll go with one of each...
Set up both Note exactly the same to see what would happen. Jb ate up arond 30% battery over 8 hours while KK only used 20%.
Overall KK was faster. it isn't majorly different eye candy but under the hood has been tweaked big time.
I never had the problems with the sd cards, the flash went off without a hitch and everything was working fine.
I gave myself 3 days to test then upgraded the other one as the experience was so much better...
Only missed some of the theme mods as most others I use worked but that has been fixed with time...
Would recommend going to KK as you will find it better, though you might nee to find the mods again that work with KK...
