Nothing, just minor bug fix, Androidpolice have posted changelog
http://www.androidpolice.com/2013/02/22/download-latest-google-play-store-3-10-14/
Why post this? Not only is this an automatically updated app, but this release is very minor and has nothing worth mentioning in it :-/
Sent from my iPad 4th gen using Tapatalk 2
Personally, I'd never install an update to the Play store from ANY source other than Google themselves. You just never know what someone might have done to it.

I completely agree with the principle although in this particular case Android Police mentioned
The APK, uploaded by XDA member ecs1984, is signed by Google and upgrades your existing Play Store. The cryptographic signature guarantees that the apk was not tampered with in any way and is therefore safe to install. Use this download if you'd rather have the latest version rather than having to wait for Google to randomly push it to your device. Download and install it just like any other APK.

I assume it's safe to get it from the links in Android Police's article at least.
Its all about risk assessment, without any obvious advantage why consider it.
How many times on this forum do I read problems people are having from "latest versions" Official or unofficial ......when actually the previous one worked just fine.
Always let the over eager people do the testing.

Exactly... i fully agreed on what had been said. I have problems after installing an unofficial google play app last month and i need to reflash the whole rom....
If it were ready for release, Google would push it out to us. As they aren't, I doubt it's ready.
I got it 2-3 days back.
I think phoenix rom might have embedded it.

I got it automatically from google a couple days ago...
Sent from my Galaxy Note 2.
I'm one of the people who do not really like Google updates, as I had some issues before with Youtube and GMail updates, so i decided as long as there is no error i'm facing with the version that i have, i would not consider new Google updates until i see a major change that i like.
Regarding the issues that I had with GMail and Youtube, they just did not work properly after an update that Google released many weeks ago, and nothing really worked even after restarting the phone and all the basic troubleshooting steps, no emails were coming or going and the youtube videos kept on loading till I uninstalled the updates, afterwards everything went back on track.
Working absolutely fine here!

Once someone gets the OTA and pulls the link from a logcat you can freely download it. It will not be posted publicly by Google.

You downloaded it from Google's servers - they do not publicly post the links though, as in GO HERE TO GET THE OTA! We'll have to wait for it to be received by someone who then will pull it from the logcat (or wait for your IMEI to get flagged and then the subsequent checkin).

Probably not. But its coming.
EDIT: But im not 100% positive but I believe the Incredible S had the same type of bootloader protection that is on the 3D, and it was rooted with S off 2 days ago along with some other HTC phones, so hopefully toast is on the prowl and will have an in once he gets his hands on a phone. *Disclaimer* providing that its not encrypted signatures on it. We'd have to wait for the patch for that, but atleast root is possible.

Haha, mate, I'm from Turkey, we don't even have a market to buy anything (Just some free stuff --not even Market app itself prior to 2.3 I tell you) Thanks to "Market Enabler App" can make you fake your location for that. And yep, it has been around for sometime in USA I guess. Actually my phone auto-updates it even I uninstall updates for some reason.
Japanese handsets (and my unbranded ones from Philippines) got this pushed to them a few days ago.
Ugly as hell but has one VERY redeeming feature: supports multiple market accounts so if you entered the wrong one first when you first started you don't have to factory-reset to get your previously-purchased apps on the new phone.

Mine updated itself after doing that and opening it again, but it didn't happen instantly. I just signed in again, had the same 2.3.6 version and then got out. When opening it couple of hours later i had the latest version installed. I'm on stock rom KG2, no root.
Not exact a positive thing but all the new android market showed me was banding/left yellow tint on the S II's screen from the gray background as movie rental/books isn't available in canada.

My SGS II auto-updated to the new market , so did my friends DroidX2. So yeah, U.S is probably getting updates first, I think U.K is slowly following behind, but will speed up later. Meh... taken from Metro-UI style of WP7. Not fluid... Need to fix.
Well I got the 3.1.3 update last week. Then had some problems with the device and had to format it and now I've the OLD market again! Tried all that Clear Data and Cache stuff but it isn't installing anymore

It's not too early to say that SE 's poor customer support days are over. They are working on ICS updates to their single core devices already. I am sure we've already been really satisfied with the bundle of updates being rolled up by SE, but this is incredibly good news.

i honestly wasnt expecting ICS for SEX devices
I'm still mad about the face unlock thing. No James Bond retinal scan? Lame.
Good news though. It's about time SE got with it.
Awesome, Really gives me confidence that SE is not that bad after all, Never been a fan of using another ROM, As I love Sony Ericsson's, I will use another ROM once the Xperia Play is no longer updated or supported by SE which I hope never happens while I use an Xperia Play as my primary device.
I always had confidence in SE. <3 this company and their phone. Now, if only we could get it as stock ICS and not with their UXL overlay. Maybe with ICS it'll be much better looking, have to wait and see

Your timing error is what made the article irrelevant though. Your outdated article greatly contradicts the new one that SE made ... making people believe that there is no such ICS update when really SE confirmed the updates after the launch of ICS source codes.
It's like positing an article about the Samsung Galaxy Nexus telling people it's a 8mp camera and not 5mp but using a 2 month old article as reference....

Given that the source code is out there, would any of the custom rom developers be working on it? or do they wait for an official samsung release before customising. I am new to the whole thing
Hell, if one of them wanted to go crazy with it they could make a fortune selling it at a couple bucks a pop It's probably against the spirit of the whole thing though.

The source code for ICS has not been released yet and won't be until the Galaxy Nexus is released.
When it is released, ICS ROMs will be a dime a dozen. Some will be great, some will suck ****. With Cyanogenmod being free, no one will pay for another rom. Charging for a hacked rom might also land someone in some legal hot water.

Great attitude, lets spam the forums just because we can!
/facepalm
shows how much my noob finger is on the pulse. For some strange reason, I thought the code had been released on the announce date last month.
Back to my box then
that was the SDK
All the devs here need is a full leak then maybe we can have ICS before the official release. Soooo anyone care to leak?
