The Above one is actual ICS port from Nexus S released by MIUI not just the ICS framework.

Prove to us that you're right cause Im so interested in this!

True, but considering we have the skills to port Miui V4 across to any device which has an already supported ICS rom, I think people call for us without thinking.
Shame really that we aren't allowed to post on XDA as we would be able to supply what others are wanting.
Ah well, what can I say, XDA and it's users shot themselves in the foot.

and what other ones are you not supposed to post?
I recently heard that FXP will stop developing for the whole Xperia 2011 series, when just around the corner, Android 4.2 was standing with a bag of goodies, for which FXP has a valid reason, that these devices lack ram to support features of 4.2. I decided to build 4.2 from source for 2011 devices, for those who'd want to try out the latest version of android. I can handle compiling ROM. But need some help with kernel. if you can help out, or if you wanna be a part of the project. Leave a comment at this thread or PM me. After public release, Dev's can submit their patches / fixes for the ROM to that thread....
I do this because i don't want us to be stuck with stock based ROMs forever and because 4.2 looks awesome . All in all, Thankyou FXP for your work.
one thing that our xperia 2011 devices (especially neo/v ) lack is kernel developers ,we dont have linux 3.0 kernel which which would have made the user experience of JB 4.1 or 4.2 better , linux 3.0 supports many advanced features of JB ,but due to lack of these kernels our user experience will be incomplete , building & testing out these kernels will take hell of time and patience.
i hope this doesn't disappoint's any user or dev just a suggestion
linux 3.0 kernels would be awesome on our phones
i wish you all the best for taking such a great project

Right now I'm mainly into developing apps, currently learning myself the basics of Kernel Development, I'm also capable of compiling Android.
Going to mess around a bit today, haven't compiled Android for my Xperia Pro yet.

Ok so.. Half way through compiling it failed, because of low storage or something. I read up online and found out that I need atleast 30gigs for compiling, where as I only have around 15-20 free on my laptop, lol unlucky I guess.. So project delayed - until I get more storage for my pc or if someone compiles for me if I give them the sources (if want 4.2 faster). And as for the kernel, instead of building a kernel (which may take long). I'll be modifying the current JB kernel for 4.2

That's the Atrix 2 (OMAP), and that's Ubuntu for Android rather than Ubuntu Phone OS.
Ubuntu for Android, as I understand it, is basically the Webtop that we've already had for some time now and uses the kernel already on the device, whereas Ubuntu Phone OS is a complete replacement for Android, but the details themselves are a bit sketchy, like what display server they're using, what kernel is supported. Wouldn't it be both ironic and disappointing if it required an ICS/JB kernel, especially since we still have a Froyo/GB kernel.

Yeah, he identifies the device about 10 seconds or so in, but admittedly if he didn't the only other way to identify it would be process of elimination, looking at the logo's and figuring it out that way.
Guys, there's a post of saiftheboss7 that he mention that he made a request to Mark Shuttleworth, Ubuntu's Guru. I don't think this will be fully working without an ICS Kernel.
I think an effort like this worths a try, since we can aways update the userspace ubuntu packages, keeping the old kernel. I don't see why the old gingerbread kernel wouldn't work.
Any chance we'll see a build of KitKat for Droid X? It's supposed to support lower-end phones, although I'm not sure if the DX even qualifies for that bottom rung given it's current age.
I read an article today that said KitKat was optimized to be able to run on devices with as little as 512mb ram, so I assume at some point in the future it could definitely run on the Droid X

With all due respect, thats a big leap. This device hasn't even had JB. I just got back online today/tonight since KK's source code release, so i'm playing catch up now, but as far as i know, CM hasn't put out a KK code yet, just Google. I could be wrong with the way I'm looking at this, so if i am, i apologize.

You have a point, I thought they released cm kitkat already... it doesn't seem like a big leap because the 4.0.4 was using only a couple custom files, everything else was cm. Of course I really don't know the challenge because this is my first build.
I forgot about the locked boot loader... no chance unless Motorola s "unlock your device" works.

Do you know of a good(noob friendly) build guide for the DX anywhere? I am in the process of getting a build environment set up and my old DX is basically a spare device at this point. Once I get Ubuntu 13.10 fully set up and know how to build I would like to give 4.4 a try. I am using CM11 on my SGSIII and loving it. The Moto Defy has a working build so some of that stuff might be useful over here.

The CM site has the basics on how to set up the build environment. yes, the page is directed at CM7 (the only thing they officially recognize as being supported by CM), but when you go to download the code, its going to be cm-11.0 instead of gb

Hello XDA,
as you know we got bootloader unlocked and that means we can finnaly flash system files without worries about bricking the phone.
I'm a not an expert nor a developer, but building CM from source looks easy (not really needs much skill), shown in this videos I found on youtube /watch?v=qW6Lz5vogqc (part 1), /watch?v=qsZU3DuBPw4 (part 2), /watch?v=YfFefW5rK1w (part 3).
I want to do this becouse developers aren't intrested in doing this for z00e. So using this I could build the Unofficial rom, but before I start doing this I ask for some info and advices, also I'll need a device maintainer...
So my phone arrives in a day, exactly 24. june.
But don't expect the zip file soon since I have a low-end laptop, so that's going to slow the process a bit..
Can you give me some advice?
Well, good luck! I do believe that someone should start this...
Get ready for chunk gigs disk size, and because you mentioned about low spec, get ready for long time build!
Oh, if you want, there's tutorial using Google Cloud platform on xda, pretty much you can forget about size, time and spec, but in 3 months trial
Again, good luck! :good:

Thank you, I'll try to get some more info till my phone arrives. I also found some guy with a "cm 13.0" branch associated with z00e on github, I'll post that github link tommorow and try to make a contact with him.
If you want, we can work together to build CM, i've a PC with Ubuntu (AMD Dual-Core 3.2 Ghz, 500 GB of storage)
Nice, I'll contact you in a couple of days, but I might try Google Cloud service for a faster compile, we'll see..
I want to be a dev too....
Few month ago i try to build cm12 for zen 4 too....
And the problem.... I can't find device-tree and how to add it on cm12.
Too hard

Okay, got my phone today, unlocked bootloader, rooted and played around him a bit, mostly watching and modifying applications with lucky patcher, installed xposed, etc...
Before that I did some search and found gits for vendor, device tree and kernel needed to compile unofficial CM 13, yes 13!
I will start the actual work in 2/3 hours.
To all ze500kl users: There is hope!

No, no need, you got your kernel involved in the making of the rom, you'll see, you'll need kernel source, device three and vendor. You can find that on github... Go step by step on this, and you'll get the point.

Yes you are going to add them to the terminal after getting sources, but you have to make a local_manifest.xml file and place link to their repo on github.
