Hi everyone I'm Paul.
I'm new to this, I have an old broken Samsung finesse that I would like to have my file from it. The screen is broken, we I plug to the computer I can't see my file on it basically the phone don't even appear in the PC. I was thinking maybe I could get help with some payload that directly unlock the phone inside' makes it appear on the PC then I could see my file on it. Thank you.

I have a backlight problem with my HTC EVO Shift. The backlight has stopped working consistently. I believe it has something to do with the cable in between the slider part. When my phone is completely shut, the backlight is not working. When my phone is completely open (keyboard exposed) the backlight is not working. when my phone is in the halfway position (keyboard partly exposed) the backlight illuminates the screen and I am able to use the phone. It is very difficult to continue to use the mobile device in the halfway point. I have another mobile device on the way but I will need to see the screen in order to get the rest of my data off, or at least make a nandroid backup and go from there.
If it is not the cable then can someone point me in the right direction. If it is the cable/screen could someone tell me where to get a replacement. I am capable of doing repairs. I would rather not if it is avoidable.
thank you xda community.
Re: Backlight Screen Problem
Main flex cable could be your issue. Grab the part from eBay

I have one on the way. Thank you. Funny thing. When i took it apart the cable itself looked okay. I guess there may be damage within i cannot see. I do use the keyboard ALOT.
Thanks again

If you're using the xda app, just add "solved" in the subject line. You may need to scroll up to see it...

If you edit your first post, the best way is to just add "[SOLVED]" to the beginning of your thread title
To give thanks, from the app either tap on the persons post and then hit the thanks popup, or on the computer theres a Thanks button under their name
I sent my nexus 7 in to Asus because it wouldnt turn on and they said the mother board had water damage. Tried to charge me $150 so i declined and they sent me back my tablet. I brought a new mother board and installed it myself. It was real easy but the tablet just charges but won't come on still. Wondering if anyone else experienced this and if anyone can help me with this. Thanks for any help in advance

You tried any of the adb commands like adb reboot or adb reboot bootloader. Might be worth a shot

@Elsworth
Ummm ... I'm pretty sure you need a booted OS running on the tablet for any adb command to function. As for fastboot, it needs the bootloader to be running in a specific mode before it will do anything.
@OP
If you have the tablet plugged in to a PC when you try turning it on, do you hear any noise indicating device detection by the PC? If so, does any device show up in the device manager? BTW, where were you able to purchase a mobo from?

Interesting. If it were used, it should have factory software on it somehow. If it were brand-spanking-new, though, it might be completely unprogrammed - only capable of doing APX mode, which to date nobody but Asus knows how to use.
I'm interested to hear what you find out trying to start it up attached to a PC. APX mode only would not be good news.

I was using my nexus 7 today and it randomly shuts off on me. It started doing this thing on the screen like a tv would if the picture was really bad with lines going across and it's a pitch black screen. It does this for a minute or two then reboots and does it all over
Any ideas?

Im about to upload a video. I can't get into the bootloader and ADB on my computer isnt even recognizing it even though the drivers are installed.
and here is the vid. I know it's boring but it'll give you an idea of WTF is going on
Seemed to have figured it out. Had to power off when I finally got into bootloader and let charge. Dunno why it was doing this with only 17 percent battery. I've let it run lower before.

It looks like it's themed that way, but you say your touch screen also doesn't with? Have you tried a different rom in safe strap?

No theres no odin for mf3 (that im aware of at least)
Seems like you may have flashed something wrong...safestrap is not the problem...the problem is with your phone or something you flashed
Please tell us EVERYTHING youve done until it got to this state...
When did you install safestrap?
Did you make a new rom slot?
What kind of wipes did you do?
What have you flashed?
Anything else?

Hello folks,
on of our company phones just startet a very strange behavior.
we recorded for you for better explain:
installing the factory images had no results. Can sb say, if it is possilbe to solve thsi problem? Otherwise, we can also send it back to google.
thanks for replies.
greetings bulkatos
It's either a real life ghost messing with your phone or the digitizer is messed up. Easiest way is to send it back.
digitalizer is bad. the weird thing is that the lastest touch driver(included in stock rom) was made to along with other things. fix that also. send back to google.
Okay, thank you (Linus). We will sent it back. Hopeful we will get back a new Nexus 4.
