Huawei X5

first download the official rom files and keep "dload" folder in either sd card or internal sd card .Then switch it off and keep it on by pressing volume up+volume down+power buttons it will be installed and official os will be installed .if you get boot loop issues .wipe cache by pressing volume up+power button after installing official os

2.3 to 2.2 downgrade probelem

hi guys.i have a big problem but i don't understand how i solve this.i upgraded 2.3 official bete.after i wanted to downgrade but setup is failed.i opened the phone but it isn't.only huawei's logo is coming and shotdowned.i can't enter recovery.and when i press volume up+down and power, phone beginning setup and failed again.
Please,Help me.
(sorry my bad English)
Downgrade from 2.3 to 2.2 is not possible for the time being if you don`t have a back up of previously used rom and we also don`t have a fully working recovery on 2.3 so we must wait for it.
I downgraded from 2.3 to 2.2 without problems twice. I put update.app from 2.2-zip in dload-folder of internal sdcard, poweroff, vol-down + vol-up + power until screen says unpacking. Let it finish then boot to recovery (vol-up + power), factory reset and format cache, clear dalvik cache if you can. Reflash update then your phone should boot normally with stock 2.2

You just need 2.2 boot partition stuff. There might be already links in that thread, or I can send them tomorrow, not on my comp now.
edit: looks like you don't need even the boot stuff good to know.

Vol up + Vol down + power should get you in the pink screen (bootloader). Then if you connect it via USB, all the partitions are mounted on PC.
edit: do you have the update stuff on the sd? Ofcourse Then I think the only way is an external sd to get to the pink screen.

You need an external sd without update stuff, then vol down + Vol up + power. In the pink screen you can for example try to copy the update.app again etc etc

Try this:
Download this file and extract the contents.
When in pink screen mode, connect your phone to your computer.
Copy the 4 files from the downloaded zip to a folder named "image" on your phone (folder should already be there, ).
Pull battery on phone, reinsert the battery and try booting to recovery (vol-up + power).
hI, how can I access my internal sdcard if I cant install none of recoverys avaliable, even with Image folder all from 2.2, none. Im stuck. Update from ext sd card dont work it failed. I need to put dload folder in internal sd. please help... =(

The internal SD is mounted on the PC in the pink screen (vol down + vol up + power). To get to the pink screen put an external SD without dload folder.

Yeah that's the boot partition, but it should also mount the internal SD. I haven't tested in Windows, but the internal SD is also FAT32 I think, so it should mount.
Anyway in Linux with the pink screen I see the phone's whole internal flash (14 partitions).. partition 14 is the internal SD.
yeah but in windows it shows only this... I'm screwed

Well, you could boot Ubuntu Live CD from USB-stick / CD to get it working.
thanks a lot, worked like a charm. I was able to install 2.2 b136.
what do you recommend to install miui? I tried so many ways. lol
(my miui backups were made after I installed official b162 and then installed CWM v4 )

Restoring pre/post beta1 v2 backups is a bit tricky. I personally just installed a clean cm7 from geno's zip. Now I'm trying to get CM7 to work without the need to downgrade to 2.2 first, with the new 5.0.2.7 recovery from geno (the thread title says U8800pro, but it works for also u8800).
Edit: so in conclusion, you should get miui working fine by using a recovery that works, and then installing miui from the original zip, not from your own backup. You also need to downgrade to 2.2, but you're running 2.2 now already?

Cannot Start TPT update to change partition

Hi,
Flashed from GEN 1 to GEN 2, with v9-custom, but now i want flash to v8-stock, i have image folder with files of v8-stock, i turn off phone and press volume up+ menu+ power i get just big android logo and red back button, when i remove battery phone start normally to os, tried to flash from gen2 to gen1 still get android logo, please help iam desperate
Both versions are at v10 now. You need to hold the menu button as well as vol+ when you power on & make sure that you have checked the md5sum of the files in the image directory.

[SOLVED] [Q] Huawei U8180 First time Modder Problem

[SOLVED]
I rooted this, installed clockworkmod, then went and got an cm7 dated april something 2012 u8160 rom from psyke83 website.
installed it through clockworkmod install from sd card option with success (also clicked option to backup everything).
yet when phone reboots it hangs on the blue arrow in a circle spinning around, sometimes reboots n repeats but it never goes past that.
I have tried going into recovery mode holding down volume buttons and power
and I get 1 of 2 errors:
with sd card in:
firmware update
step 1/2
unpacking
update failed
with sd card out:
purple screen.
I am a first time android modder, can someone please, please tell me how to fix this. I can access the sd card with a reader if need be to put whatever files on it that I should.
Thank you.
Start the phone by pressing volume up + power OR volume down + power. You should be able to boot to recovery with one of those combinations (other one boots to fastboot most probably). After that do the wipe data/cache and try to reboot once again.
What was wrong in the beginning was that you did not wipe data/cache. That made the CM use old OS's data files which obviously won't work.
The unpacking thing was caused by pressing volume up + volume down + power. That causes the phone to go to upgrade mode if there is an update package found.
Nope. still goes to the blue arrow circling then freezes then reboots....

You are right about me not wiping the data/cache though...
But in your phone forum, are there tutorials on how to boot to recovery? Do you have any other hard keys on the phone?
there is one other button but that didn't work either.
I cannot find a forum for Huawei model u8180 (

Hmm, would this work?
yay!!
it was volume up + power + cancel button (? maybe home button? not sure on what this button is but its the biggest).
wiped all data n cache n then it booted properly.
So the problem is solved? If you can, mark first post title with [SOLVED].

[Q] Tried to install oxygen 2.2.2 from 2.3.5, did my ideos brick?

I can't enter the cwm, tried to install oxygen 2.2.2 from original 2.3.5. I can't enter the pink screen + I can't enter the firmware update (to the stock 2.3.5, it says that the update failed). On a normal boot up, it resets 1 time then it enters Android system recovery <3e>, it forcefully formattes the /cache, failes to mount /data_pseudo etc. Any ideas ?

Any of above that you need ?
I can enter the pink screen, but when i plug it with the usb into my computer, it doesnt detect it. Doesn't mather which ROM I try to install under the 3e system recovery, it always says, that the update package is not correct, does this mean, that i need a oxygen 2.2.2. update because I installed it over stock 2.3.5 ?

When it says : Finding update package... , I tried to install a ROM.
You have a locked bootloader from b52* and that's why you can't see your drive in pink screen.
Did you try to install froyo like i said? It might work. If it won't uhmm...

I did try it already (the old http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149150&highlight=oxygen), among with all the other ROM's on xda for u8800. I don't really know what to do :crying:

I'm not sure we are on the same page...
I didn't ask you to install oxygen, i was talking about the stock froyo; Huawei's original firmware?
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1352963/U8800V100R001C00B138SP04CUSTESTC205D001EsthoniaElisa.rar
this is b138 (froyo 2.2.2).
Extract the files, put update.app into a dload folder and paste it into your sdcard's main folder i mean it's gonna be /dload/update.app
Power off. Press both volume keys and power on. Wait for the update process to finish. Once rebooted it may give errors, don't worry.
Power off your phone, press power on + vol + button simultaniously and go into recovery. And then wipe data/cache. Reboot.
If that doesn't work, send your phone to warranty.

I did everything you said, but it always stops at the firmware update. It always fails to update at the end. I'll keep trying this method because I'm optimistic that it will work.
Tried to install almost all of the firmwares, non worked till now. It always says "Update failed" at 99% .
I somehow managed to get my pc to recognize my phone when in pink screen, it contains one folder; image.
In it, there are: amss.mbn, AMSS.rar, boot, cust and recovery.img, EMMCBOOT.rar, EMMCBOOT.MBN, total size=118 mb.

[Q] update from SD card

Hi,
I just tried to update my Nexus 10 to 4.4 without much success.
I placed the .zip file in the root of my SD Card and followed the usual steps into recovery mode (Turn Off, Volume Up and Down + Power Button, Recovery Mode, Volume UP and Power Button).
I expected to see a update from SD Card option here but it is not available.
Any ideas where I could have made a mistake?
Cheers

I think you've got the first part right, the second part is that you need to hook your tab up to our PC to run update, see link.

Ah, thanks.
I was under the impression I could install an update from the sdcard without having my device connected to the PC. I guess I got that wrong.
