Hi all!
My Defy have been acting very strange lately. It started about two weeks ago at the latest Quarks CM10 build. When starting an app the battery would drop from 99% to 4% in about a minute or two. When I then tried to restart the device it would shut down immediately after I put in the pin code. Then if let the device be off for like 20 minutes and then restart, the battery would be around 80%. But it would drop down to 4% using an app.
So I tried to reflash the rom but the problem remained. I tried to flash Wajks miui GB but the problem remained. After that I flashed sbf and the problem was even there on the stock rom.. The weird thing is, while being stand-by in like 24 hours the battery drops around 2-5% and I can use the SMS function without the battery dropping. And I can be in long call for like 15 min without the battery going down to 0% (might drop 50%). Also, the battery seem to be unaffected of music. I can listen to spotify for hours without any notable drop in percentage (drops like 1-5%).
I'm very confused. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Same problem whit 2 diferent batterys

Anyone have a battery issue with their X5?
I've had the same issue with a few different roms (133 to start with 136 now running 160) and all had the same problem I believe.
After charging to 100% i'll notice for the rest of the day it will use up the battery very quickly and the running time in the battery monitor will be 100% of the uptime.
If i reboot the phone after charging running time will be more normal, say 10/20% or so over a day (will be down to maybe 80% charge after say 6 or 7 hours, but if I dont reboot it will easily be down to 40% or so at the same time)
I've noticed while googling that some Mot DroidX users have exactly the same issue? Having to reboot after charging to fix the problem.
Done all the usual check, turned off wifi/bluetooth/screendimmed etc etc etc checked running apps etc, but it only happens after 100% charge (can plug in and charge for a few minutes, unplug and running time doesnt go up)
weird problem.
Sounds to me you got a defective battery, I recommend you hand over it and get a new one !

This is mentioned in my post
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043760
But I don't believe it has any thing to do with charging, its just a certain amount of time after you've unplugged it it happens, maybe 1 hour, maybe 5. But it doesn't seem to matter if you've restarted it after unplugging it, all that seems to do its reset the amount of time before it breaks. Then you restart it again.
Im currently using B137 (Android 2.2.2), and am not experiencing the this issue (although I seemed to be experiencing it with all previous roms except U8800H B136(But that has extremely high 3g battery drain))
Edit: Wrong quote

As soon as I unplug i'll monitor the battery run time and it will constantly stay at 100%, even if i check 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 30/60 minutes after the screens off.
If I reboot straight away after unplugging the phone will be perfect for the rest of the day, will never go very high in runtime, running apps, wifi, bluetooth everything during the day perfectly without burning through battery.
Its not a battery problem as its fine as long as you reboot, there must be something in the code somewhere that does something when it reaches 100% charge and doesnt shutdown after? some sort of charge notifier maybe?
Must be a code problem because how come Droid users would be having exactly the same issue when unplugging after a full charge?
Same problem randomly here too. Sometimes after unplugging it is stuck on running 100% and nothing seems to help exept reboot. I've tried switching on/off wifi/bt/gps etc. and killing all possible apps/services but it just doesn't sleep if not rebooted.
Strangely it doesn't happen every time after charging. I always have the phone plugged in overnight and usually have 5 or 6 days uptime before this problem occurs and I have to restart it.
Running B160 rom, clocked @ 1209 Mhz.
Hello!
This week I bought a new Defy+ MB526.
Tried to root it, no success.
After thinking I flashed:
DEFYPLUS_U3_4.5.1-134_DFP231_AR_SIGN_UCADEFYEMARAB1B80AA004.0R_PDS03C_USAJRDNGIBRRTARAB_P016_A027_M001_Service1FF.sbf
The problem is I have to charge battery twice a day! Yesterday I charged it to 100%, and after 7 hours (WiFi on, BT standby, GPS standby, no calls\sms) battery fall to 50%.
I used to have HTC HD2 with CM9, ICS 4.0.4 and battery could last for 2 days before charge needed..
Does anyone have an idea what causing it and what to do?
Thanks!

Sometimes it happens to me a similar problem. Battery get drained within a few hours without any CPU activity. What I can say is that it seems to happen especially in the move while fast hopping from one cell to another. Battery suddenly reaches +40°C which is a good pointer to expect only a few hours of phone activity. As of now I didn't try to reboot the phone, though.
Questions go in the Q&A section
In my case, battery didn't rise ~32 degrees. The only Time it goes over ~40 degrees is when charging.
Currently I'm starting to be sorry for bought this device..
Reflash the ROM. And calibrate your battery. There's an APP for that in the play store (If I remember it correctly)
PS: You're sorry for buying it. M sorry 'cause mine's been stolen & I miss it..
battery discharging soon
using cm 10 on my defy + mb 526
battery discharging very fast which used to last long before rooting my phone
GPS -off , wi fi -off , 2G data - on some times
please help
Dear XDA,
Since a few weeks I began experiencing problems with the battery of my Galaxy Note 4 (SM-N910F).
It all started with the phone lasting a lot shorter per day and suddenly shutting off at around 5-8% battery left.
Today it was the worst I've ever experienced. I make a short list of what happened.
Charged to 100% overnight and taken charger out at 7:30
Went to the gym, 98% left after 1 hour idle
Bumped an extra 4% when transferring files from PC at 15:10 (from around 78 to 82%)
Watched 10 minutes of Under the Dome and did some Whatsapp
Read an article on the internet
Phone was suddenly at 28% at 19:00, shut it down for a bit
Powered on at 19:25 with only 18% left
Phone died at 19:30 with 14% left. 2h and 40 min Screen On Time. 12 hour standby.
Still able to boot but can't get past coloured Samsung logo
LED Notification stays blue and can keep booting for about 30 more times.
So basically my phone died after 2h and 40 min Screen On Time with still some charge left.
This is the worst I've had so far.
The weirdest part is that the Notification LED stays on after trying to boot it once. The only way to remove this is by taking out the battery.
When the phone was new I was able to at least get 4-5 hours Screen On Time depending on brightness.
Things I tried to solve it:
Full charge cycle and emptying it
Factory reset
Checking for unusual activity (wakelocks)
I've checked for any wakelocks but I think this might be a defect instead.
Can anyone please help me? Any advice is appreciated! Thanks in advance anyway!
Kind regards,
Daniel Collignon
Anyone?!
If you use latest version of tapatalk that's the problem

I don't even use Tapatalk...
Try a new battery, it can become 'weak' after a while.
Sent from my SM-N910F using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Don't worry ! I have gone through this too . A log or a screenshot of BBS , System battery graph would help us . Please share it
well my phone is n910H. it lasts less than a day and it dies when it reach 30% and when i connect the charger it gives me 0%. does this means the battery is faulty or is it a software issue ?
Me too!
I have the exact problem stated in the op. I am pretty sure it must be a callibration issue because I've tried too many times the *#0228#. I've tried taking out the battery and putting it after some minutes. I've tried off-charging, on with screen off charging, on charging, fast charging, slow charging, everything and I have at most 4 hours of use, with 1 or 2SOT.
Sometimes I charge it and it stops at 70 or 75%. Today, it stopped at %50 (off-charged) and I removed the battery, waited 5 minutes, put it back on and it showed 100% (still off). Battery lasted less than 1 hour (okay, I was playing candy crush and clash of clans ).
I use my phone without the power saving mode for a snappier performance, but it's impossible that the battery lasts so little time.
Could you solve it? or just bought a new one?
Battery drain
I have same issue on my Note 4 for a last few months. And it's just getting worse.
Today it dropped from 48% to 5% and turned off.
I even took it to Samsung service and they told me that everything is OK with phone and that I have to change charging equpment.
I did that and it didn't help. It's happening again.
Help please?
Hello friends,
The story is this: I got a P9 Lite a couple of months ago. I just used it one day and left it to discharge. Then 2 months later (or more) I decided to use the device. Tried to power it off but it didnt even vibrate. No power. So I plugged it in, and only after around 15 minutes it showed the charging screen and the red light was blinking. I left it to charge 100%.
Right after, I upgraded to Nougat. Originally my phone was MM V31C185B360.
What I have noticed is that the phone loses 15 to 20 % over night and no wifi nor data are activated. I tried other roms like elite rom (v4 & v5) but same problem.
WHat do you think ? is it a battery problem or just android problem ? and is it possible to dowgrade to MM ? I heard that the B360 is a beta !!!
Thaaannnkkksss in advance
Problem solved for me. When I set the network to "GSM only", the battery didnt lose even 1% at night (about 7 hours sleep). But when I set it to wcdm/gsm or lte/wcdma/gsm, the battery drains fast, i lose about 15% during 7 hours sleep. Now I have to set the network to GSM only everytime i do not use mobile data. Quite frustrating, but oh well it works.
Hope this helps
Hello, is this happened to everyone else? It just drained down to zero in just one night, any fix?
is This happened to you after charging your phone? This happened to me once, I was charging my phone and after reach 100% I unplugged this was on the night, 6 hours later in the morning I noticed battery was 4% this means 96% was eaten on that 6 hours. I was on a rush, so rebooted the phone and plugged to the charger again. Like I said this happened once. I'm not sure if some app/google service/service keep my phone woken all that 6 hours.
It happened to me also. Same as above comment

Same for me too, but my phone was fully drained.. Maybe a software update will fix it.
Happened to me before debloating my phone and while keeping the phone under a pillow.
Maybe a clash with the feature for detecting if you're using the phone to show the fingerprint icon on screen? I disabled that too now.
Happened to ne yesterday. Weird. Eea stable 10.3.12
it's pretty crazy. it happened to me 2 times. battery drains is insane, about 15mins I lost 8 to 15 percent!!!
first time I did everything I could to stop it but no luck, I decided to do a factory reset and it was fine for two weeks. the second time started yesterday, I even tried gsam battery and enabled the more stats using adb. all it could find were consuming the battery are :
1- kernel android os
2- system adsprpcd
I've tried these still no luck.
1- clear data :
play store
play services
google
2- disable dual sim 4g - note: I use one sim.
3- disabled all the apps in permissions>start in background
4- uninstalled about every apps I've installed
In my case I struggling with Google Play Services eating up my battery, I tried everything (xiaomi.eu rom, full restore, clear cache of Play Services etc...)
The issue it's still present even with updating the app with the newest versions. You could check you consumption to see what's using your battery

Not very healthy habit btw, better not to have the phone so close to your head all the time as battery consumption could be later your least problem.
Did your steps helped in that situation? As if pillow would be the culprit, some of the flip covers could cause the same.

I didn't have the issue since, but I don't recall leaving it under a pillow since either.
My entire phone setup is documented here so you can try uninstalling the crap I've uninstalled and the relevant settings for the FP scanner.

for me happend just like this, after unpluging the charger almost 90% ... after 5 min the phone was still hot ...and the battery was draining faster ... after 1 hour i lost like 30 % so i just rebooted the phone and it stopped.... just happend once
