Hello all!
My question is: is this Cm10 "stable" rom ready for daily use??
Inviato dal mio MB525 con Tapatalk 2
Subjective question
Latest build+sevenrock's extracted kernel is stable, not very fast but quite certainly usable

I downloadet it last night and I'm very satisfied with it. It's fast, no battery drain, games run pretty smooth, no FCs, so Yeah, it's appropriate for daily and non-daily use, too. :highfive:
Is not an "most stable CM10". All builds suffer from instability in some aspects. But AGAIN this is a topic from "which is the best ROM" series and is forbidden!!!

This is not a topic from the "best ROM" series, this is a topic intended to guide people in need for a stable release to which is safe to use and which is not. Like in my case it is not relevant to test 20 builds to see which is the best, i already tried 10 and couldn't find one that has all the major functions working.
For example I at the moment am using build 10-20120924-NIGHTLY and the problems with this is that it feels a bit laggy and i also can not use any kind of live wallpaper. I have also noticed a bug when I call someone, when I want to end the call, the lockscreen is active with the call controls but i can see the normal unlocked screen under it. This happens even though i was the one calling in the first place.
This is the kind of information i was looking forward to find in this thread so people can choose builds according to needs and for people to actualy be pointed to a version of a ROM not A FOLDER with a number of versions where u dont know what is working in each.

Any of the custom ROMs have some weakness and the same ROM behave different at some users. You can find the appropriate ROM for your need by trial and error method and not because I or anybody else said: pick this one - is the best!

I am using sevenrock's 0127 build, seems fluid, no lags, maybe better battery (came from latest negan). Wondering what impovements are in his 0209 build. I cannot post link to the builds, it can be found in Quarx's cm10 thread.

The wildfire only goes to 2.2 officialy. CM7 latest build has 2.3.7 and its stable (not including nightlies)
Is that version in stable or night mod?and can can you explain what nightlies is?
Nightlies, from what I know, is a build that they release every night and some times is really buggy but you get the occasional one that is stable. I just stick with the stable releases not the nightlies. Um there is a stable release out.
Here's the link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1143125
Also the easy way to install it is to use rom manager and make sure you do nandroid backup before you install any roms

Sorry to contradict you but the nightlies in my opinion are just as stable as the stable version, you see a lot of the bugs you may read about in various threads are through user error not the actual rom itself. And been able to use new features long before they are released in a stable version far outweighs the amount of bugs.
I've been on nightlies for about 4 months and only ever had 1 bug, the camera wouldn't work a couple of days ago but Arco already knew why and it was fixed the next day!

All the nightlies I've tried have been stable, I know they had problems in the early stages with bootloops etc but I've been on them since about nightly 100 and never had any major issues apart from my own stupidity.
There is a changelog knocking about somewhere. I'll see if I can find the link later.

It's been a long time since there was an official build. I think I will share my build for now until the build infra is running again.
Do NOT report any issue in the main CM nightly thread. You have been warned!
You can however report issues here, and pray somebody will listen to them.

Again, you have been warned!
FAQ
Q. What does the test folder mean?
A. It will be unofficial builds with additional commits from developers which are not yet approved to go into CM. There is probably a good reason why it didnt get merged yet, so you are warned!
Q. Is this build faster than latest nightly?
A. This build is fast, but probably not faster than latest nightly
Q. Is battery life better then latest nightly?
A. This build battery life is good, but probably not better than latest nightly
Q. What does updated WIFI driver do?
A. Nothing, I removed it.
Q. What has been added/changed since last build?
A. Check Changelog for latest changes.
Q. Can i flash this over my currently nightly?
A. Yes you can flash this over a nightly just like you do with another nightly
Q. Where did the KANG go?
A. It got replaced by UNOFFICIAL to prevent misunderstanding.
Thanks a lot! I think this should become the place to share our Kang builds with the rest of the world.

Probably better to have 2 places, one to discus how to build a KANG, and one (this one) to discus posted KANGS. Both have different audiences, people who like to build and people who like to flash.

Hi, what are the differences between this and a cm7 nightly?
Can I flash this over nightly 181?
Thanks in advance
It is updated until the 8th of December. Safe to flash over 181, just another update plus an addon as stated in the op (updated wifi driver from zach).
Basically it contains almost all changes from the changelog for nightlies..

Ok thanks. I installed it, it works pretty well, but still has got a bug present in nightly 181... The fade effect when you unlock the lockscreen is not present. Could you try to fix it? Thanks!

It uses the same sources as CM7, and it uses the same build process.
The only thing different is the updated WIFI driver which zach and fugumod uses, and of course the recent changes which are not inside the latest nightly's.
So you can assume the following:
* This build is fast, but probably not faster than latest nightly 181
* This build battery life is good, but probably not better than latest nightly 181
* Maybe the WIFI signal could be better, but you will have to find that our yourself.
* Check Changelog for latest changes compared to latest nightly 181
* Yes you can flash this over a nightly just like you do with another nightly
Enjoy
I just got a Defy+ as a gift and upgrade. It came rooted.
I see the overwhelming choice of custom ROMs offered here and got confused.
I wanted to try Firefox OS for one but it was long updated (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1865120&page=17)
So, which to choose from the many Androids? I don't have any special requirements but stability and be it well supported (by the wonderful XDA community).
In the forum of my previous phone (Galaxy Mini) there were 2 threads for a specified custom ROM: one for the developers and one for the users. This designation would be helpful here, too.
Are there distinctive 'stable' releases as well or am I supposed to pick the latest nightly and hope it is more stable than previous day's?

By CM11 which thread do you mean? Run by which XDA member? As there are more.
We do not allow best/most stable ROM/Kernel threads on XDA. The reason is everybody has their own opinion, each user has different usage and different needs for their device plus developers do not like seeing their work compared to others.
As for your question about nightlies.. They are the builds which run everyday with the latest patches that have been merged into the repositories. They can contain bugs which are usually fixed the day or few days after that is why there usually always is stable builds every once in awhile.
Edit (after your last post) - and if your looking for CM11 its here

I browse XDA everyday and these days there are so many new custom roms for OPX. I'm so confused choosing the one to be flash on my OPX (E1001). So I would like to make a vote so that everyone can share their experience about custom roms choosing. For me, After tried several roms I'm now back to OxygenOS since it's stable. Bluspark kernel gives me a smooth UX and fine performace in gaming. I got 27-29 fps playing Hearthstone on my phone.
Try them, read the forums and decide for yourself. Best rom threads aren't allowed on xda.

Yup. That's the best way. Just try em all. I don't even have a favorite. Some are better in different ways. Right now I am running Oxygen though. It's the only ROM supported by the Boeffla kernel right now

Bro you can use boeffela kernel on h2os also I have flashed boeffela 7 for oneplus x OOS on h2os and it is running smoothly no lags at all and on benchmark it is giving a score of 68k to 69k by doing some customization by boeffela config app
I totally understand this poll.
Following OnePlus X development thread for some time now, it is quite difficult to choose one of the ROM.
For those saying that we need to try them ... I tried most of them and can't figure out why using one compare to the other ...
Most of them are CM based or include exactly the same feature.
I remembered using TeamEOS ROM and this, was completely different (in my point of view). Some extra goodies included but all from them, with some differences (gestures instead of navbar).
I don't want to be rude dev, but except AOSParadox, all are quite similar for "normal" users (not developpers I mean) and when using one, you tried all of them ...

yeah i would like a h2os lite version but not holding my breath for it. h2os with boeffla kernel flies. 71k antutu score.
also this vote will only show how many users r using their preferred rom. it will not show the best rom.

That's the very good news....
Custom H2OS may be better ..
Any way ???
So for me it's either ashwins cm13 or purity. But what all custom ROMs currently lack is encryption.
That is one thing (I know it is hard to implement) I really would like to see in the next builds as it is for me an essential feature when you are using a custom recovery and an unlocked bootloader. I hope there will be some focus on it within the next weeks.
The only option for now is: stay on stock
I'd like to use CM12.1 (marshmallow) but I realize there still are no stable release? Why? Is it not good enough yet?
I've had a pretty bad experience with CM on my old Galaxy S4 so I'm a little afraid to remove the stock recovery and ROM from my Moto X Play. I want to make sure that it's bug free (or as buggy as stock) and suitable for day use. In other words I want to flash it and know it's fully reliable. Given the fact that there are only nightly releases, are they reliable enough for this?
Thanks

I can't vouch for the latest releases, as my xplay has been broken for like 3 months now, but being a nightly doesn't inherently make it unstable. Stable builds are usually relabeled nightlies. I say give it a shot. You can always go back to stock if you don't like it, unless you're speaking about voiding warranty

Oh! I thought nightlies were unstable releases. So before yours broke, you had a good experience? No problem with camera or other stuff?
It's not really a question of warranty but rather just not having any issues when I need it to work. For instance, with my Galaxy S4, the camera kept crashing while I was out with my kids so I lost time trying to make it work when I wanted to take a picture. That's the kind of thing I wouldn't want happening just because I got another ROM.
Indeed I did (have a good experience). If you're every unsure of a nightly, head to the thread. You'll usually find one or several people commenting if it's no good.

Yeah I had a look (I just realized I was talking about CM13 not 12.1) but given there are now 205 pages I thought I'd ask about the nightly situation in a different thread.
I think I may try it and restore it from the ROM available in the forum.
Oh and I keep wondering, given Motorola never actually released the ROM, how can someone make it available?
I m using nightly for like 3 months ......and I can say nightly is far better than stock if you are looking for customization and speed. I recently tried to go back to stock 6.0.1 but that experience is so "LAGGY" that I again return back to CM.I can say that CM nightly build working best for me with my requirements(like gaming and also photography and editing and HEAVY Customization and many more ) . and about custom recovery,it's a must have tool I suggest as with that I can return back to my previous builds. SO i recommend to go for NEW CM build, but in the end it's upto you.
and if u r still fearing about NIGHTLIES then flash the custom recovery(twrp) and then make backup of whole stock system and then do whatever U want to.
