Q: Is it possible to restore the data for only one App from the Zune backup?
Here is why I am asking.
I had a recording of my three year old Girl on my phone...
... I performed a full backup and did a hard reset.
... I thought the recording was backed up when I sync'd, but it was not.
So now, I really want this recording back. It was a precious moment.
I guess I could do a full restore, then get the recording off... then reset it again.
Just thought I would ask first.

I don't really know how to really phase the question in a way where it makes sense but here it is. I hard reset my phone fairly often and it is always kind of a pain to go through every single thing and get it back to the way it was.
So is there any way that I can hard reset my phone. Set up everything perfectly to the way I want it then do something to where whenever I hard reset it will revert to that stage? Almost like making a rom (for someone that doesn't know crap) specifically for me so that when I hard reset my x1 all the things that I want are already on there?

Or SPB Backup.
Backup software sucks. It only slows down the device after restore. The guy asks for a full image of the device.

Never had that problem. Using spb backup some time now and it works perfect. But maybe the problem is you need a perfect install and make a backup then to get a perfect restore.

Need help !!!! HD2 changed wmm password?
I have microsoft my phone enabled and everything, but.... as it is my wi-fi and cell radios are disabled....
Before i went to take a shower, i soft resetted my phone using BsB Tweaks, and when i got back from the shower i tried typing in my password... said it was incorrect, and i flipped. but before that i let someone use my phone for like couple seconds, told him my password to the wmm screen, nothing more.. It was working fine with my old password for about the rest of the day.. after letting my friend use it
And now it just seems like it changed the pass itsself, I know how absurd this may sound, but I'm speaking the truth. I just have customized the phone soo far, that i Really do not want to hard reset.
Can the t-mobile employees help reset the password? or Am i just left with that choice.
EDIT: I think i might just go to the t-mobile store and exchange my phone.. 3G was slow anyways, the speaker sounded broken, and the hardware keys are very loose.
EDIT: I can't even type in my password anymore, when i type in the pass, and click unlock nothing happens/

I happened to me too, i did a hard reset. the last thing I remember is to install a cab for sms without manilla. i rebooted and i was able to enter my pass but the ui was the normal windows ui to enter the password, the i reseted the phone again and the normal manila password came but i couldn't enter the password, after several times entering the unlock button didnt even do anything.
Now if i install something big in the phone.. i disable the password , reboot then enable the password.
T-Mobile HD2
This seems to be a bug in the tmobile stock rom, maybe others? It's happened to me before too using the stock tmobile rom. Theres a thread about this over on forums.t-mobile.com as well
The last thing I installed before it happened to me was the flash fix installer to enable flash in Opera.

i have the stock ROM that comes with HD2 tmobile USA and i hadnt even installed anything.
I was just checking a few tele no. on the phone and left is went into standby and when i opened it, its stuck on enter password and the pass i set just aint working??
i am screwed, had over 30 small softwares which took me quiet sometime putting in.
CAN I GET MY HD2 TO WORK SOMEHOW, is there a fix???

Use a hard reset. Hold you volumn buttom up and down together then press power buttom the same time. It will reset to the original manufacture.
This really sucks, isnt there any way around it, i mean is HTC screwing with us or what??

Its a pretty common bug. No fix, just dont use a password. You can download apps from the Market for protecting your phone with a password. I guess it has something to do with the Microsoft registry, last I read anyway.
If you backed up your phone on your PC then its no biggie. Hard reset, re synce your phone. If you didnt, well... let this be a lesson. I learned the hard way. Always backup your phone.

I already had my contacts backed up, but had over 50 programs installed, and it will be a big pain installing all of them all over again.
As an owner of 20 HD2's (corp. account), I can tell you this has happened to 4 of our phones. It was almost a deal breaker. I can also tell you that TMO/HTC have aknowleged the issue and are working on a fix for it. (This comes from upper ups at TMO)
We HAVE to have Lock PIN's enabled, as we are a law firm and such.
For the record, it has nothing to do with anything you've installed, BsB or otherwise. All of our phones, except mine, are running stock ROMs (2.13) and Radio. No one here has the want or desire for 'frilly' things like CHT or BsB. The 4 phones that have "lost" or "forgotten" the PIN code were all stock.
Our interim solution, is to have everyone use MS MyPhone for backup purposes. Note that this does NOT back up anything on your SD card. Pull the SD card out before you wipe it, and you will not lose anything there. Can't speak for apps installed there, as I'm sure there are needed reg entries on the phone that will need to be recreated. That's a guess tho.
Short answer, if it's forgotten your PIN, you're screwed as far as avoiding a wipe.

They're both great really, but I think sprite is still on a special sale for HTC owners...

rooted my phone, ran bootstrapper and accidentally deleted everything. any way to get it back? if not it really isn't a big deal i was just hoping to be able to retrieve all my contacts some how cuz i had a lot.
any help would be great... i've already tried the backup assistant but i think that may have been wiped clean as well since it asked me to create a new pin which makes me think nothing was associated with my phone

See if your contacts synced with back up assistant. Go to Backup assistant and see if you have anything 'Backed up' with them (should be at the top). if not and you didn't sync your contacts with gmail (a really good idea if you are going to mod your android; I had to learn the hard way and import them from my phone from a backup (tedious).) then you are out of luck and have to type them all in or bluetooth from you old phone or something.

lol no problem. First thing you should do with clockwork is run a backup when its installed i lost one phone this way by not doing a backup lol

There is only 1 app on my phone that I do not want to loose the data for. That app would be aCar. Well, I have been use titanium back up for at least 6 months and i am pretty proficient at using it. Well, I was playing around with my phone, like the lot of us do. I made a backup of aCar before I messed around with my phone. Ended up having to do a data wipe/factory reset on my phone. Restored aCar and it force closes. I can load the app, but the data is corrupt. Is there any way to pull the data from the TiBu backup file. I have about a month worth of data there that I want to save.

Sounds like you may end up losing the data for that app. Imo, for the future, you may want to try syncing with your dropbox account. It could either be an SD card failure, or just a bad backup from the start. IMO, Id copy all info to my computer, reformat and then try again. If it still happens, I would suggest clearing data from the app and try restoring data ONLY. If it still happens, try uninstalling and then restoring it completely, app and data, via tibu. Feeel free to try these in any order. haha.

thanks for the suggestions, but i have tried all of them. I can'tn tell you how mnay times i have uninstalled and reinstalled hoping that out of some miracle it would work. i sent an email to TiBu, but they have failed to return my message. bah.

Did you send him a logcat? I know that Joel is pretty good at returning emails cause Ive sent him a bunch. XD

I sent him a message basically asking him if there was a way to extract the data from the app and he hasn;t returned the message yet. Granted, this was just yesterday. If I dont hear from him tomorrow, I will probably him pester him again with another email.

Give him atleast a day imo. TiBu isnt his single source of income and hes not in the US Hell probably be asking for a logcat, so I would make sure to have that at the ready, or send him an amended email including the logcat.txt for him to check out so that neither of you guys are wasting time waiting for it.

Imo, start with the Logcat and then move on from there. Np dude, thats what the boards are here for Its not like youre asking stupid things that can EASILY be answered by reading an obvious post. Plus, data corruption can happen to ANYONE. If it happens to me, Id rather know what I can do to fix it Purely selfish motives my good sir. haha. jk....kinda.
Hi, my new Samsung galaxy S4 is working just perfect apart of this S voice issue.
I did an extend search on XDA and didn't find anyone with this problem.
When i Press the button in the same second i receive a message "I didn't hear that please say it again"

I can't reset all device, but I have Titanium backup and is able to clear cache and wipe specific app data, and I cleared the S voice app but still does not work.
Tried to install also manually the apk and does not work either.

bring it back to where you bought it and return it for a replacement then... or just use google now, doesnt google now work better i heard?
OK just figure this out.
Although this must be some bug of stock 4.2.2, I found the solution.
Removed the app completely with TB, cleared system cache from stock recovery and on TB app also, rebooted 2 times and installed manually the s voice apk, now I can speak to my phone normally and the girl do what I say.

Yeah more or less Google now works.
The problem here with S voice is for non root users if they encounter this issue you cannot manage system apps or uninstall completely as you can do with TB on a rooted device, then you have to factory reset all device again witch is a pain.
Anyway is working just perfect now, witch is cool :laugh:
Clear App data in Application manager..fixes this :laugh:
