The trackpad on my phone is too sensitive. I can touch anywhere on the bottom of the phone and it counts like I pressed in the trackpad. This is annoying because my phone selects random things on the screen. It also happens in recovery. Is there a way to disable the trackpad, or do I have to try and fix it by taking apart the phone?
Does anyone know where a guide is to repair the trackpad. I only found guides that remove the screen.

Hello,
I've a trouble with my beloved Tytn:
when I tap near the center of the screen, usually the tap doesn't work properly, but it seems that I tap to the bottom left of the screen, and not to the center.
This trouble causes the tapping of the left softkey, and for example when I'm typing an sms, it send...
I've tried to adjust the screen alignment, many times, but it doesn't work.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!
Does it happen constantly, or intermittently? I've noticed something similar on my 8525; When using the stylus, all of the presses are registered perfectly, but when using my fingers, the phone seems to have a hard time registering the press. Often times, when I'm using a touch keyboard, it will react as if I had pressed the "X" in the top right corner.
Like I said, it never does that with the stylus, just when I'm using my fingers. I think that the touch screen driver or whatever on this particular device has a hard time registering the presses from a larger-surfaced object like a thumb.
It happens some times, and only with use of fingers (and I have not hotdog-like fingers...).
I don't know how to solve this trouble, but it's difficult to work with that.
Oh, so it sounds like your issue is similar to mine. See, I think that the software that detects the on-screen presses is most likely calibrated for the stylus (hence why you use the stylus to align the screen when you first boot the OS). I think that it has difficulty detecting larger surface contact, which causes it to freak out and detect the press wrong.
This has bugged me for a while, too. It even happens when I'm using my thumb to hit the tabs on HTC Home; I'll hit a tab and the task manager from the upper right corner (I use O2 Plus 2.0) will drop down. Very annoying.
Anynody else have any ideas?
Has anyone else had the issue where you can press down on the screen, a tool bar or something and the screen starts to shake or the selector starts to auto select things. I get this a lot and typing is often very hard because it randomly selecting things when i am typing on the keypad.
I have seen it once when i put the phone down go through random menus, is this a fault or just normal due to sensitivity?

Hi
I've had the same problem several times with both stock rom and cooked.
I turn it off, wipe the screen and it will usually revert to working properly.
Most would say it's a fault unfortunately. Personally I've returned mine for a replacement after a 'repair' which fitted a new screen made the problem worse.
See this thread.
when i am in a call and phone is not on my face i can not use the touch screen like press speaker, menu, mute ect. but if i do a soft reset on it then it works for a few min. then stops again. any fixes?
Have you lowered the touchscreen sensitivity either by registry tweaks, BsB Tweaks, HD Tweaks, etc.? If so, one of the known errors is that the active call screen will stop working and you have to use the hardware keys.
Did you happen to perform this tweak?
44. Prevent Accidental Link Activation When Scrolling
Do you scroll and find you accidentally click on something? This tweak is for you.
HKLM/System/GWE/Touch/Filter/Minimumtaptime
Change from 0 to 30
If you did, that's the problem, it breaks the phone app and makes all the buttons non-responsive while you are on a call.
Just change HKLM/System/GWE/Touch/Filter/Minimumtaptime back to 0 and the buttons will magically start working again.
Actually, the buttons do work, you just have to poke it "harder" and longer. I would touch and rub my finger over the end-key a couple-times and then it works. It's probably a result of the decreased sensitivity hack.
yes i did do that mod. but i changed it back and it seems to be ok now. thanks for the help
while we are on the subject does anyone know how to move the unlock slider to bottom and clock to top on today screen?
I thought it is a function of WM6.5 to disable touch-button during call to prevent accidently touching them with your face
if you want to use those button just slide along the length of that button and it will work just fine (work for me). And after you active any button by that way, all touch button will work as normal.
(sorry but english is not my native )
I've seen that a lot of people have unresponsive back buttons, but mine seems to be the opposite.
Several times now, with seemingly no easy way to reproduce it, I've been able to activate the back button without touching it. With the keyboard out, and without touching the screen or the back button on the keyboard, I'm able to tap the lower right hand corner of the case (I have a Seidio case on it) that protects the screen and it triggers the back button. It's to the point where if I can do it once, I can do it multiple times.
Not sure if any of that made sense, but I'm sure people who are experiencing similar problems have also seen it and might have an idea of what's up.
Possible answer for unresponsive back button on Epic
I need help with this possible answer to the unresponsive back button problem.
1. If I use my right index finger to tap and sometimes multi taps to get the back button to work.
2. But if I use my right thumb the back button works everytime. Only a light tap with my thumb is all that it takes.
Please try and post if this works for you.

That's... got nothing to do with my question. Again, my back button is perfectly responsive. If I click it, it works, end of story. The problem is that it seems to click itself or activate when I touch various parts of the screen portion of the phone without actually touching the back button.
Unfortunatly this is a known issue and one of the reasons I switched away from the Epic. I had 2 that were bad the first one having issues similar
Best of luck...
Is sensitivity adjustable? My phone is constantly calling people on my contact list, or texting them paragraphs of jibberish. And jumps around from screen to screen "on it's own".
When I take it out of the case,it's awake, and it's on any one of who knows what page. And my apps are moved around, like I held my finger on one of the apps on my home page and dragged it to another page (panel)
When I turn the phone on, or take it out of the case, almost always the big weather and time app is gone from my home page. I have to find it, and drag it back home.
Before I put my phone in my belt case, . . . because I'm having this problem . . .
1). I turn off all apps. (Hold the select button down a few seconds. Then swipe off all open apps.)
2). I make sure it's on the main desktop page, and put it to sleep. (Press OFF button for a second. Screen is black) So the page that should come up when I wake it up should be my home page. And if it's accidentally bumped or presses the awake button while in my case, (?) it should be on home page, not on message page, or phone page. Or trying to log me into Google!
But it's getting turned on, and apps selected, etc. while it's in the case. Sometimes it's actually turning off, then back on. I hear it chiming during the bootup.
The case was made for the phone. Fits perfectly. Leather. And there's no way I'm bumping the side of the case, hitting the on button.
When it does this, sometimes it's on my messaging/texting page, and somehow selects someone to text. And is either recording whatever it's "hearing", or it types long paragraphs of jiberish text.
Any ideas? TIA! Wayne
does it do it on it's own?
When left overnight untouched, or left on table for awhile?
As far as I know the only way to physically wake the phone up is either press side power button or center home button and maybe the case is causing the phone to wake and register commands. Another possibility is voice commands, are those on?
otherwise there is a program that causes all the trouble. Once you know whats causing the issue, the fix should be simple.
I think screen sensitivity can only be adjusted up, for glove use, but that makes me think you suspect case being at the root of this, so either try different case, or lock the screen with password or something more difficult to activate by accident.
My friend "butt call me" at least 3 times from his iphone, but I never had this issue with Note3 since I have to press one of the buttons and then properly swipe the screen, within few seconds, not easy to do accidently .
And judging from your post, do you have your screen lock set to nothing ? So it's easy to wake the phone and do unintended touches, even in a case.
Sent from my N9005
Thanks

Thanks for the reply. As far as I know I don't have my screen locked to anything.
No idea actually.
What I did find is that the sensitivity feature was turned on. I turned that off.
Then I turned off the voice function.
Tried that. No better.
So I set a password. That works. BUT . . . now I can't find where I turned off the voice rec.
And I've really tried finding it. Now I can't use voice for texting. The mic icon is gone from
my text menu.
