Why is it that when you share a pic from gallery through the email app (not gmail), it won't let you select the email account? It defaults to your default email account with no way to change it. All of the manufacturer skins have this ability. It seems pretty basic.

Does anyone know how to make the Vibrant show the Facebook photo as a contact photo instead of the Google contacts photo? On CM5.0.8 all you had to do was edit the contact and choose the facebook photo as the default?

you can use SyncMyPix from the market or you can go into. each. contact. and. select. "link contact". then. go. to. FB. and. link. them... one... by... one...
FARK!
I can not NOT wait until we get a stock Froyo rom on this thing.
I believe you go to accounts and sync and add facebook.

I forgot to add the part after you go to accounts and sync, you have to add the facebook account.

What do you mean by "add the facebook account"?
Under Accounts and Sync you select add account. FB will be one of the options. Add that and select contacts from its settings and it will automatically link your phone contacts and sync the FB profile pictures to your phone contacts pictures. It is pretty easy and works great!

Clarification I think
I think that I have the same question and its has not been answered yet. The problem is that the acounts are already linked; facebook and google. But it is using the google picture as the default. I have tried changing it manually but it always revert back to the goole picture. Is there a way to change the default setting, Any sugestions?
So I use gmail, and a corporate email account.
I can't stand 200+ notifcation bar messages a day for my email so i disable the notifications. I use gmail unread count widget and have for over a year. However, it does not do exactly what i want. So, here is my wishlist.
A widget, which looks like an email envelope that sits on my main homescreen, and is 1x1 in size.
Said widget should give me an unread count number for my gmail account and exchange account all in one number on the widget.
When the widget is tapped, it opens the stock samsung combined inbox app, which hosts my gmail and exchange accounts.
As it is now, my unread count widget only shows my gmail unread count, and when tapped, launches the android default gmail app, NOT the samsung combined inbox. So, I have to manually check for exchange emails periodically to see if I have work emails. This basically sucks. I mean it's great for gmail, but for work, i end up being late to respond when I'm out and about.
Does a widget like this exist? If not, is this something I could make in app inventor?
Help?
Launchr pro has that built in as an option. It may only be for gmail, that is all I use and all I can confirm.
Hmm... Problem is, I use adw launcher. Anyway to extract that apk?

It's not an apk by itself, it's a feature of LP. It doesn't work that way.

So....anyone know of something like this that exists on its own?

So the factory email client is driving me crazy with msn and hotmail. You have to scroll to the bottom of the screen for almost every e-mail to very any if the pics or really the real email. Is there a setting I am missing or something. If not what is the best email client for msn and hotmail.

Try Kaiten (successor to K9). It's my favorite allaround email client and handles pop, imap, and exchange equally well. Simple UI that just works as expected. Great dev that keepa it ipdated as android changes.
My preferred email client is enhanced email. supports exchange push and of course imap. Not free, but when I got this phone it was the best available for the price IMO.
My Note10 has not arrived yet so I can not comment on performance/compatibility with it.

Some of my problems with the email clients are msn/hotmail issues. I want a app that will display whole email every time including pics and keep email in sync with my computer ie. (mark read and delete) I am using live Mail on my computer. I have not found what I am looking for so far.

The stock e-mail client's actually pretty powerful. It looks kind of cartoonish but works well. Set up your MSN and/or Hotmail accounts using ActiveSync. In the stock clients settings add a new account and put in your MSN/Hotmail e-mail address(es) and then click next. On the page that comes up click "manual settings" and select ActiveSync. The fields should be pre-populated. If they're not try these settings...

If they don't work do a Google search and see if you can find anything newer. The advantage of this is that you'll get your e-mail via push and not have to have mutliple e-mail clients running. I disable the GMail app and receive mail via push using ActiveSync in the stock client. That way all my e-mail's in one place and color coded. The stock e-mail widget's nothing to write home about but its workable.
I tried all that but still have to scroll to the bottom of each email and select load more information to get anything but the unreadable message. Not sure if this is hotmail of the email app. Any ideas?

Is there a POP3 App that will leave the emails on the server (so that MS outlook can download them)
I looked at K9 but I did not see that option.
Thank you!
The default email app will do this by default. In fact, it won't delete anything unless you change the incoming mail setting to delete either on download or on delete from the app's inbox.
Open your account settings and check out the incoming mail settings.

USE I-MAP...
I have always had trouble with pop accounts not following the leave copy on server . I map will use a bit more data but will sync your email across all devices..
imap is the way to go
If you have the option of using IMAP, sure. Some providers don't give you that option (Earthlink for one) or you don't want 5 different "Inbox" folders in your mail client. Or maybe your provider really limits your mailbox size. Nothing wrong with POP, its just a tool.

Is their anyway to have unread emails on the dash clock lock screen app? I know it works with gmail and k9, but what about the default email app for the nexus 10? I have 3 account setup for it and it would be nice to see all 3 on the lock screen with dash clock. Is their an extension from the Google play store that will do this, or an option in dash clock itself that I am missing.....
Thanks

Me too - Dashclock extension for Android email app?
I'm bumping this thread because I'm looking for the same thing. I already have the dashclock gmail extension going - is there really no Dashclock extension for the standard Android email program though? That's where I get my yahoo mail which is my primary email address. My gmail is just a secondary address with 500+ unread emails from various groups I'm on.
Second that bump!
Anyone tried Anydash and managed to get it to work with the default Android email app? Apparently it should work with any app, but I can't get it to work with it at all. Doesn't show count.
