HI guys! I recently faced this problem:when I am listening to the stock google music player and I press the power button, the music buttons(play/pause,rewind) are missing from the lockscreen.I restarted my phone and it's still the same.Do you know what the problem is?
Try locking the screen with the music player in the foreground once.

Can I ask you something. When you were using headset control did you have artefacts on lock screen like either shrunk camera app or music widget that was blinking intermittently?
This only happens when on lock screen (screen on) and pressing headset button to play music ...

Is controlling music player or radio while the screen is locked possible? I'm thinking of buying a headset with previous/next buttons and I'd like to skip songs/channels without unlocking the screen every time.
Go on Android market and download Mortplayer. Double clack the Galaxys headphones and it skips the song. Single press stops the music, its great ;-)

That function also applies to doubleTwist. A very good music/video player.
Double-click skip track also works on winamp

U can pull down the dusk at the top of the screen when it's locked and control your music player. The player must be started before locking the screen though

Nope, no matter how quick I push it twice, it doesn't work I'm on 2.1, may be that's the reason
Thinking about getting the car mount for my Galaxy S. I was wondering whether anyone would recommend a specific music player for such use? The bog standard music player is pretty decent as it allows you to control the music from the pull down notification screen but I was wondering if any other does this as well/better than the bog standard app?
Is this a known bug? My media volume usually gets stuck where I can't move the volume higher or lower and the same for my phone volume and can't set it to vibrate and I have to reboot every time.

I've had this happen a couple of times too. Not enough to notice any pattern in when it happens yet.
It happened to me few time after installing power toggles few weeks ago. I uninstalled it and have not had any more freezes.

Mine is still stock and unrooted.
It happened to me but then I realized my Netflix app was holding up the audio. I watched something but didn't exit properly. I just had to bring up the multi tasking window and swipe out Netflix. Maybe you have another audio app you opened just before and it hasn't releases the audio control yet

I've replicated the problem. When spotify is playing and I yank out my headphone without stopping it it meses with the toggles. King of annoying really. Never happened with my GNex.

But if you close out spotify on the multi-task bar do you get control back?

No I had to reboot. Now I have to hit pause to remove the headphone because if I don't it would continue playing through the speaker instead of pausing like it should.
Here's another problem I encountered using s4. When using the button on the headphones that came with the phone to switch to next music track I noticed that it only works about 50% of the time and other 50% it recognizes it as play/pause command which is really annoying and makes headphone controls practically useless. Anybody had same problems?

nope yours are probably faulty
But it seems as software problem not hardware because if I only press the button once, music stops and resumes every time.
I'm having some annoying issues with the music controls on the included headphones. It seems nearly impossible to skip songs by double clicking the button, I always just pause and unpause the music repeatedly. Also, if I have music controls enabled (so I can use the volume buttons on the phone to change songs), the volume buttons on the headphones are disabled. I'm not sure if this is more of a custom ROM issue, or just the way it is. But my main concern is skipping songs barely working.
Any way to fix this?
-Thanks

If you are running a custom ROM, you'll probably get better answers in that ROM's Q&A thread... just sayin'
I have no issues with the operation of the headphone buttons with the stock ROM.
Thanks, I wasn't sure if it was the ROM or just how it is, but I'll check out the ROM Q&A.

AS the title would suggest, I'm having a small issue with my headset button.
I got my G2 today and while excellent, my previous phone, HTC One, would react perfectly to the headset button.
I use doggcatcher often and when pressing the button on the One, the podcast would play or pause perfectly. I could remove my headset and an hour later connect it back, hit the button and back playing where it left off.
With the G2 the damn music app keeps playing and it will play the choir ringtones. Even if I am playing a podcast in Doggcatcher and I hit the button the music player will interrupt Doggcatcher to play the ringtone.
Is there a fix for this? Or a way to disable the build in stock music player which I will NEVER use.
Solved it

What was the fix?
What was the fix for this? I am having a similar issue, but my headset will only launch the dialer and I can't figure out how to make ANY music or podacst app respond to my wired headset button.
