Playstore tablet view - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just got my N10 and noticed that the Playstore has a different view when viewing installed apps.
The "what's new" section doesn't seem to be visible anywhere. I like to know what changes have been made and there doesn't seem to be a way to view them unless i manually search for the specific app. Is it possible to have the phone view.

Highlight the app on the left, gives the option to uninstall/update the app. If you want to view the app info, touch it on the right side. It will take you to the view you are looking for.

I don't really know what to call this.. read please?

Whenever I take a photo it seems to be always orientated in landscape. In the stock gallery app, the photo will automatically view in portrait, but in other photo viewers it'll display it in landscape. Is there any reason as to why it does this and anything I can do about this?
Check the settings in the camera app, you can pick one or the other.
What is that crap at the bottom?

[Q] No delete button in Gallery in MF9

I just updated from rooted stock MDL to rooted stock MF9 this week. Everything is running great. But I noticed one difference in the stock Gallery app I'm not happy about. In MDL, when I brought up the gallery app from the camera app (by touching the pictures in the upper left corner of the camera app), I would have a trash can in the title bar so I could do an immediate delete. Now I have what looks like the AllShare icon, the third one from the right:
View attachment 2221916
The new button seems to do nothing. Gives me a list of devices that I can attach to, but only lists "device". Does anyone else see this behavior? And, more importantly, can someone tell me how to get the trash can/delete button back?

Yeah not sure why they did that either. You can hit settings button and delete to delete it. Or you can tap it to show the film strip at the bottom and then long press on the picture to get the delete icon, but only for that instance. In short, although I haven't look into it myself, there doesn't appear to be a quick way of adding the button so settings and delete is the way to go.
Yea I wish they would put the allshare in the settings instead of the trash button.
Delete button is there in landscape view.

Yep, if you go straight to the stock Gallery app, it is there. But if you go it view the pictures while in the camera mode, as I described above, it does not show up. You have to go into the menu button routine to delete it. I'm not sure if that's actually the gallery app or not. I guess not since the behavior is slightly different.

RichNote - Deleting Docs?

RichNote is a wonderful app.
I must be missing something right under my nose - how can I delete RichNote files that I've created?

That was the first place I looked - didn't see anything from RichNote in there. I do see QuickMemo files of mine.
In the RichNote app, I can see my saved files, but I can't find any way to delete them.
Ohhhh. Got them confused. Long click on the written note in app and select delete. Alternatively, open the note and select trash can.
Thanks - you got me on the right track.
For anyone else that might come across this thread, when using Richnote, the excellent LG-supplied app that you can open-up on top of other apps, there is no way to access the ability to delete or share your Richnote files unless you maximize the app. When the app opens in its default window size, the app does not offer any of these functions. I just had to explore a bit to figure this out!
I just noticed my backspace button on calculator doesn't work in window mode after adjusting transparency. Nothing works on it partially transparent, and backspace won't work at all after unless I maximize and minimize. Can you test yours?

Ditto on my Verizon model.
I like Quick Memo the best. The ability to draw on the screen and save snapshots is great.
I prefer Richnote widget so I can draw, text, attach, ect for more purposeful things. Use notebook when I get involved. Quickmemo for fast on screen draws right from home button. I use and like all three.

Samsung Gallery Stock App: Where did the "Star" go? Mark as Favorite?

So far, I've always loved the little "Star" you could activate, when you had a pic on your screen. It was the easiest, most effective one-touch-way to sort through way too many pictures you take, when getting excited about something lol.
I would star the best of them, then move them in an album and delete the rest.
I cannot find the star, nor can I find a way to filter "starred items" anymore. Yes, there is a "label" function, but that's not at all what I am looking for. I dont want to create a label and then having to go into the menu, select label, select which label etc...
Any idea/help? Is that feature just gone?
Can't you just go to the menu "Select" > put a check box on the ones you want to keep, move them to a new album and then delete the rest?

Obviously I can, but its not what I am asking.
Also, with your method, in that menue, the thumbnails are really small. If you took 10 pics of an moving object and want to see which one turned out best, you want to scroll through them in full size. The star was great, you set it, scroll on.
So nobody knows?
No need for the attitude
Thought about checking the play store for a different gallery app that has that option?
So finally got it back. There seems to be no solution to this as demonstrated in this thread... but I got my S7 back from repair, and there it is, that little star.
I thought that was a Android feature, but apparently it's a samsung one?
Every image has a little star that you can activate, and later you can filter starred items. Quickest, best and only way to go through 20 Pics of something, and bring it down to the 2 best ones for example.

Two things you probably didn't know about the Mate 8

I discovered these merely by accident and never knew about them before so others may find them useful too!
1. Press the multitasking button (square) to see your thumbnails of running apps. Now tap and hold on anyone of them to get straight to the app info page where you can do things like alter the notifications, check the storage and battery use etc .
2. Using the keyboard with word prediction, you are given a list of words to choose from right above the keyboard. If there is a word you don't like, don't use, spelled incorrectly or accidentally added to the custom dictionary, you can stop it from appearing again. Just tap and hold on the word you want to remove from the custom dictionary and a pop up window will show - confirming your decision.
Hope these help.

Ok , lets take 2 gestures
Open gallery you will find on top 2 tabs one is album and other is photos tab on photos you will find photos classfied according to date
Then if you slide down there with your finger you will enter to camera.
Another one in camera if you slide up you enter gallery.
Try.
Also in the Gallery app, go to Photos tab and you will see 4 columns of photos. Do a reverse pinch to zoom gesture and you will now see tiny thumbnails in 9 columns. Tap and hold one one of these super tiny thumbnails and you will see a small zoomed image of it and you can drag your finger all over the screen (maintaining pressure) to see more zoomed images as your finger passes over them.
Finally when viewing an image full screen, reverse pinch to zoom to get to horizontal scroll mode to quickly navigate to other photos.
