Notification volume - Droid RAZR M Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way to adjust the notification volume at the same time as the ringer volume like every other phone besides Motorola's? My wife's bionic has the same issue.
I've tried an app called volume control + but to do what I want you have to open the app every time you want to adjust both volumes using the rocker.
If you're unsure what I'm talking about, try adjusting the volume using the rocker. It will only adjust the ringtone volume and not the notification volume. You can verify by opening the sound settings menu.

This app seems promising. May not be what you're looking for exactly, but a widget is better than nothing.

Your Nexus is pure Android, which has the ringer and notification volumes tied together. It seems Motorola separated the two volumes with no option to join them.

On my RAZR M. I use my Nexus for playing around at home. I checked the function of the M's rocker shortly after my other post.

That is strange, my Razr M does not change the notification volume with the rocker.

Issue with voodoo

While using my 3.5mm jack to play pandora and I have voodoo installed my notifications and call ringtone are very quiet compared to music and navigation volumes. Is there any way to raise notification volumes or is this how voodoo is coded?

What ROM are you running? I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess CM7?
Actually no. Srf1.2

Yeah, it's called going to settings and manually raising the volume in sounds.
Nice try. All volumes are maxed out. The issue is either with voodoo not raising notification volumes to match music and navigation volumes or its in the kernel when you plug in the 3.5mm

Also next time you should look at my post count. I've had this phone before you were wetting the bed.

I did confirm that while voodoo is on it boost music volume twice as much more than notification volume. So how do I get notification volume to equal music volume?

Lol, I've had my epic before I joined xda. What a sad thing to point out on your behalf, very low of you. Back on topic, no issues here using voodoo app instead of the built in kernel voodoo. Stock kernel of course.
Voodoo only boosts music volume, there's no way to boost notification/system volumes through the voodoo driver (currently). However, I was under the impression that music is paused when a notification is played on our phones and headphones are inserted (except on CM7, thank goodness). Is that not happening for you?
It does but issue is I stream pandora and I can't tell if its a notification or if pandora is buffering. Because the notification volumes and other volumes are half of what voodoo boost the music volume to.

Ringtone Volume Issues

So I'm loving this device but there's something recently that has made me curious. I have the Ringtone volume all the way up and when I receive a call the first two seconds of the ringtone are at low to medium volume before jumping up to high. Stock Over the Horizon ringer if that matters. Anyone else having this issue?

All my volume settings are turned off and I don't have camera shutter sounds. There's 4 different volume sliders.

Put the phone into silent (slide top slider to minimum which makes the phone vibrate and silent/vibrate icon appear. You can also select the vibrate button from the long power press menu). The camera is then silent.

Weird, when in silent it makes no sound on mine, or the other person who replied it seems. Must be your firmware version.

Volume rockers won't work sometimes

Hey guys,
First of all, this isn't a big issue Im just curious if im the only one having this.
So, sometimes when I press the volume rockers to adjust the volume(no **** sherlock) they won't work.
I keep pressing them but nothing shows up on the screen, after waiting for a while and pressing them again they will work.
Am I the only one with this issue?

[Q] Locking ringtone and notification volumes

Is there a way to lock these volumes together so that when I hit the volume rocker it will adjust both the same?
This is default behavior within Android but I can't seem to find this in LG 's volume settings.
It's pretty annoying to think you turned your volume down only to have the notifications still blaring out.

Use xposed installer and gravity box...

Should I mention that I am running stock ROM rooted? If I was running vanilla Android, I wouldn't be asking this question.
