So I'm loving this device but there's something recently that has made me curious. I have the Ringtone volume all the way up and when I receive a call the first two seconds of the ringtone are at low to medium volume before jumping up to high. Stock Over the Horizon ringer if that matters. Anyone else having this issue?

I was curious as to how the in call volume works. I mean it seems like to me as long as audio is enabled there should be some type of audio variables in the phones os config. Im trying to disrespect anyones work but I just want an understanding of how it works and what the problem is.

Are you simply asking how to adjust the in-call volume? When you're in a call, use the volume rockers to adjust the voice call channel's volume. Alternatively, you could install a mixer app (I use audiomanager) and adjust the Voice call channel there.
Or are you talking about how on some of the MTD roms the in call volume has a much lower range than others? Or something else?
I have the same problem...audio manager doesn't help : (

If your talking about mtd rims I hear volume+ fixes that.

not much can be done now, volume control+ has been reported to work for some. There's a kernel developer who is close to a fix so hopefully we'll have the issue resolved soon enough!

I know I was just curious about what the problem is and what are some ideas to get it resolved.

it's just something in the kernel, isn't an apparent problem. and nobody really has ideas except the one guy who is working on it and he apparently has a lot of them. he seems to be on the right track and he knows what he is doing.
I can't really tell you more than that about it because I don't know, it's just a matter of time before he gets it fixed!

I've been using +11 for the past 6 months.
Not really surprising, when you overdrive the internal speaker.
I've been using +10 forever. Guess it just depends on your device.
Must be depending on phone.but be careful guys.6 is quite loud and I am happy.

Doesn't the app give a big warning about this already?

i find it gets to a certain level then will default back down and go up and round again
On which phone?

if i set it too high occasionally the volume will suddenly go extremely low. (ie: if i set it at 20, sometimes it'll sound like its set at -20...) especially annoying when i cant hear an incoming call.
happens if i set it too high, so i've left it at 6 for a while now and all seems well

I've always had it on +4. Anything higher and the sound starts skipping and getting distorted.
My phone suddenly changes volume when I listen to music.
have anyone else experienced this?
It's pretty annoying as it can get very loud.
Hey
I have noticed this.
Also think the volume is very low

it's turned on in my s voice, and features like 'cheese' to take a picture ARE working.. so what gives?

do you mean when you ask "s-voice" the answer is not spoken?
try to hit the little face next to the mic, this will activate voice prompt.

Different issue but sort of related, for me the alarm snooze doesn't work. I tell it "snooze" but it keeps going. Maybe it knows I'm still half asleep

Why yes I do....seeing how I was just clearing up what was being discussed as people were confused and how I don't actually use s-voice I figured why turn on the option just for a screen shot.

Hi, I just picked up this s4 i337m from Rogers and it seems the vibration is very faint. I'm running cyanogen mod and I increased the vibrate to max and it still isn't like my old s3's. Is there any other ways to fix this?
Sent from my SGH-I337M using xda app-developers app
Anybody? Any other tweaks to increase vibration? I already turned it all the way up in the settings.

To be honest, I downloaded some vibration sounds as suggested by another user.... it sounds like the phone is vibration but it really isn't......
Yeah I'm going to try that. To be honest its not that bad but if I could make it more powerfu so when its in my pocket I could actually feel it more.

I haven't found anything other than adding the vibration sound, it definately isn't the same as the S3, not sure if a different rom would make a difference. I am not rooting for that though... least not yet.
Oh well lol, guess I'll just have to get used to this. Everything else on this phone is flawless!
