Hello everyone...
Yesterday I noticed two dark spots on the screen of my Nexus 4. These two spots were not there before! At first I thought they were dead pixels but on further inspection I think they are speckles of dust that managed to get in-between the front glass and the screen... Out of curiosity, I took some macro shots (cf. attached)... What do you think ? And did anyone here have the same problem ?
P.S. I've sent the device to get it repaired this morning... It already had the earpiece buzzing problem (but that didn't bother me) so I mentioned both defects and I hope they can sort it and send me back my device ASAP !

Dear all,
anybody already experienced a broken touch screen?
My Leo fell from 50cm to the ground (tiles), just on the edge. The sound it hit the ground already let me knew - bad suprise...
If you have already some experiences with broken screens: Is there a way to repair it? Is it be affordable?
The device itself seems to work as usual. Even in the upper right corner, the sensitivity seems fair. But I fear a breaking screen as already some glassy bits drissel out...
Thx for tipps
TC
i belive its called digitizer on most touch screens.
not sure if HD2 has different technology.
but the LCD screen is separate from the touchscreen part(thats what you broke)
search ebay for HTC HD2 digitizer
heres the ebay link i bought a camera LCD display from them few times

Hey dude,
Check out this thread

I broke my glass on my screen and ordered a new digitizer, stripped it apart, broke the LCD in the process (a common occurrence as the glass/LCD glue is STRONG), ordered a new LCD, repaired and it works.. didn't quite go back together as it started (slight gap in case, buttons don't come through as much as they used to). Now have the problem of the 'bubble wrap' showing on the screen in a few places.
In short, yes it can be done but if you want it doing right get a professional to do it..
Any one else with there own experiences?
heat it up so the glue is soft and comes off easier, between the screen and digitizer.
if you have sun leave it in the sun to get it up to good temperature.
safest way since it will not get too hot where it melts.
hello,
my defy screen is broken (completely shattered) and i'd like to know if there's a website i can buy a new one from, and get it delivered in France

At my display there is just one line of pixels broken since 1 day.
Ok, broken's the wrong word - they don't align with the others.
Could that be a software issue, fixed with flashing again? I mean, if it'd be the display, wouldn't the pixels just stay black?
I've acidentaly dropped my phone today on the parking lot(it fell from the height of around 1m-heght of my pants poket) and the glass on the screen is totally shaterd. It hit the ground with the upper left side(not the screen but the edge of the phone), and screen got shaterd, so I need to order a new one and get it to Serbia. If anyone can help, thank you. I guess this phone is not as hard as they claim, or I had bad luck. :/

Dropped my phone for the second time last night, onto a cement floor. No damage -- first time was on a travertine floor, and no damage. In fact it bounced. Maybe I'm, lucky or maybe (as I suspect from other posts) all Gorilla Glass is not made the same.
Same here. The phone bounced like a ball when I accidentally dropped it. Thankfully everything is ok.

Dropped mine 10 foot off a scissor lift and it hit a job box and flew sideways another 10 feet into a wall without a scratch. But then I had a simple 3 foot drop on gravel rock that scratched the glass. I think my otterbox case helps prevent more damage. Ive dropped this phone a dozen times now without problems except the seemingly least likely one to cause damage is the only one that did any. I dropped it into a floor drain with 140 degree fahrenheit running water where it laid for about 2 minutes while I found a glove to get it out with and it didnt do any damage. My old iPhone cant touch the DEFY in my line of work. Thats what I needed, a tough phone for a tough job.
the angle at which your phone is falling seriously matters! At some angles the shock while touching the ground transfers to the glass directly, then it will break, but some times the shock gets neutralized or transfered to some other parts, etc etc!
Angle matters..
the angle of collision sometimes will damage it....but i think the probability of shattering is like limit tending to almost zero...
Hi,
On my Galaxy S2 the screen:
On the botom right corner the display is not lower than the bezel anymore.
It is raised a bit and if i push on it it goes back a little bit. In addition to that some light leaks out at the bezel.
Does someone else have this Problem? Is this a reason to have it replaced?
Haven't heard of anyone else with this problem. Sounds like the screen is coming loose. I would be returning it if it was mine
I noticed a couple of days ago that mine is doing exactly the same thing. I assume it must be something to do with where the adhesive which holds the screen in place is situated. I'm concerned that dust and dirt are going to get inside the casing and possibly make it worse.
^^ I stand corrected
wow, light leak? :O thats a first... got any pictures?
Guys, if there is no user-inflicted damage on your phones, but the screen is really loose and not properly glued - exchange the phones ASAP!! No need to put up with this defect if you can exchange.
Just make sure the damage will not be blamed on you dropping the phone (no scuff marks on it).
besides this issue it is in perfect condition so no reason for them not to return it. ill head to saturn right now. but i`ll try to grab a picture of the light leak for you. in reality it is much more visible than on the photo (sorry for the bad quality i had to take my laptop camera and hide under my blanket^^)
It looks similar to what happened to Google IO Galaxy Tabs a while ago: http://www.androidpolice.com/2011/0...l-edition-tablets-experiencing-screen-defects
This is not good
its exactly the same issue as the one you posted
I had the same problem with my SGS2, except the display rose above the surrounding rim at the center left and right part of the display (the center of the vertical edges). I think if I would turn my phone over to mute it, it would scratch because the surrounding rim doesn't protect it anymore.
Anyway, I already returned my phone because of this and other problems (yellow left side, pink spot, ...).
My screen seems to be a bit raised on the center left. Its not much and only noticed it because of this thread. Anyone have their screen slightly raised in certain areas? Is there something potentially wrong with me phone?
I do not get any light leakage or anything.
I just got my order from Negri this morning and was about to feast my eyes on the glorious screen everyone's been praising when I see this big ugly purple stain on my screen right when I turn it on. I'm not too familiar with Super Amoled technology so I have no idea what could have caused this.
I've already contacted Negri in regards to RMA, but I wanted to double check with you guys to see if others have had this issue or if it'll go away with time or something.
Here's 2 pictures, can't direct link cause I'm too noob here.

[edit] Does the note have some sort of superthin stock screen protector on it? Was wondering if it could be a stain on such a possible screen protector, but I can't really tell and I'm not sure I should try peeling at the edges if I want to RMA. At least, I can't seem to find any information about other samoled screens having similar issues. Dark spots, light spots, yellow tint, strange lines, yeah, but not big purple bruises.
That is definitely damaged screen. Needs replacement
Yup, doesn't look normal to me.
That can't be right - must be a damaged screen.
There is a sticker on top of the screen that you have to peel off, but nothing outside of that.

Thanks, just needed to confirm that. Will have to see about getting a replacement, then. What a pain in the ass.
It's really damaged screen hope you get replaced screen via warranty

i got the same problem. but it didn´t harm my phone since i realized the dust 4 months ago. i opened the phone and cleaned the dust, but it came back. reason unknown. but until now i realized no technical issue because of the dust, just the thing how it looks in for example sunlight.
