Hi, I have a problem, because I don't have a lock screen on my Nook, that means that I can't put a password.
I have CM7 on my Nook.
Any help?
Thanks.
Re: I don't have lock screen.
Sorry; is lock screen.
Go into settings and look for the lock screen option. You should be able to find an option there for a lock screen with a password.

I have Cyanogen 7.03, and I have enabled a 4 digit pin in "Location & Security settings". The pin works fine, but I don't need the unlock slider anymore. At present time the unlock slider comes on, and then the pin. I am trying to figure out how to disable the slider but leave the pin screen enabled.
The best I have been able to figure out is to enable "trackball unlock" with "disable unlock slider" option in Cyanogen Lockscreen settings. I can double click the trackball to unlock, but since the slider is gone and the slider screen remained (it just shows the current time) the power button can't get past this time screen, forcing me to unlock with the trackball, but lock with the power button.
Interestingly, if I enable pattern lock instead of the the pin lock then the "slide to unlock" screen goes away, which is exactly what I need to happen when PIN lock is enabled. Can this be done?
Can someone help with this please?
Easy, settings<cyanogenmod settings<tablet tweaks<disable lock screen

Actually I'm not absolutely sure this is what you need but let me know
Edit: that doesn't work, it disables the pattern screen as well

It disables the pin screen as well, so that doesn't work.
Well I hope you find a solution. I was having that problem and ended up using an application lock app instead

Thanks. I switched to using a pattern lock in the mean time. It's not a bad alternative. What application did you switch to?
removing slider for only PIN entry
settings-lockscreen-unlock options-disable unlock slider
choose trackball unlock or menu unlock for the option to appear.
Hi guys
I realised everytime we off the screen, and when we turn it back on, no matter how long, the lock screen will be activated. And i cant find a option to set a time before it locks.
Any help on this? Im on stock rooted KF1

If let the screen turn off instead of lock then the lock after time setting in the settings is vaild. However if you lock the screen then thus setting is bypassed and the unlock screen will be shown after you unlock the phone. I use delaylock from the market to bypass this and have the lock screen disbaled for my custom amount of time no matter how the display goes off.

Use no-lock to bypass the lock screen. Its best and free.
Market link - https://market.android.com/details?id=org.jraf.android.nolock
widgetlocker is a good alternative, isnt free but loads of great options.

How do you disable the screen lock? I can switch between the different methods (pattern, pin, password) but I can't figure out how to get back just having the quick lock.
I think this might be an oversight bug.

In Setting/Security/Choose Screen Lock I have the following options:
None
Slide
Face Unlock
Pattern
PIN
Password
EDIT: Misread your problem. Select "Slide" to get the default lock screen back.
Okay I got it now thanks. I was looking for "None" as an option like on my HTC One X. I selected "Slide" and that did it.

Just wondering if people use any type of security or just a slide to unlock.
Usually it's just a slide for me. But now since we can slide right into the camera even with a pattern lock I wouldn't mind using that either.
No lock screen or extra steps to access my home screen! Unless the N4 left my sight which doesn't happen much!
Pattern. My Google account credential is way too important to leave it unlocked.

I tried nova launcher with tap to sleep app, but every time reopen the phone it will require me to enter the password again.
I think this is a new marshmallow feature. If a third party app locks phone, it requires password. What happens if you manually lock or let time out.

Screen Lock Pro by Prahallad has a setting to bypass security. There is a free app by the same Dev but I haven't tried it.
Once installed you can link Nova's double tap setting to it.
Try screen off and lock app

This ^.
It's the only app I've found that doesn't cause the pin lock screen to show the next time you unlock.

Hi
Thanks for the pointer, I tried the free version of the app, and setup my Nova's double-tap gesture to use Screen Lock shortcut, I am able to lock the screen but unable to wakeup w/ a fingerprint. Is there something special you had to do?
Thanks in advance

Does this app really lock the phone or it just shutdown the screen until the phone unlock itself on its own?

It just turn the screen black until it lock itself. Takes about 3-4s. I know the developer wrote there 10s but it only takes 3-4s on s7e. You know it when the AOD comes on etc etc...
As of now, from what I can tell there is no way to use an app or double tap to lock the screen without requiring a pin for a non rooted phone. Apps that turn off the screen but don't lock the phone isn't really an answer.

It is an answer though. You just have to tweak the settings in the security section so the phone locks immediately. There is still a 2 sec delay but to get to lock the screen with a double tap again and get to unlock with touch ID it's fine. It costs a little over $3 though.... which isn't much but is on the steep side for such a single purpose app. There is a marshmallows touch ID workaround setting in it as explained which merely turns the display blank (although for me the edge thing is still visible) then after a really short delay the screen actually turns off and AOD turns on. With the system settings set right it actually locks securely the moment AOD turns on. Max 2 sec delay. No one's gonna get a chance to get in your phone that quick.:good:
So, I did come across this same issue, and it seemed to have started for me when I applied the May Security Update. It happened on my Note 5 and my S7 Edge. But when I applied the July security patch to my Note 5, double tap to lock WITHOUT a pin next login actually worked again, not so on my S7 Edge, after applying. Havent had enough time to research and dig, but doesn't make sense working on 1 and not the other when both are 6.01, both on July security patch, both Verizon models, and both use Nova Prime. Has had me stumped since May....
