[Q] from cm7 to stock - Droid Pro General

i want install stock firmware from cm7, because i have problems with network type not changing edge to hsupa and tone signal when calling not audible. I want install by next steps
1. wipe reset CM7 with CWM
2. with rsd lite flash 4.6.8
3. wipe/reset
4. root 4.6.8 with pete's motorola root tool
5. keep root with OTA keeper
6. update to 4.7.3 in RM
7. restore Root
These actions are correct? Please prompt me

All you have to do is restore your backup you had before you installed cm7.

I don't have backup. What I do next?

Well first, you should always have a backup.
You're just going to have to flash the sbf and reroot it.

[Q] Removing a theme

Just curious, i installed a theme ion my phone and it is already boring me. How do i remove it?
If you made a backup like you should have before you put on the theme, boot into recovery and restore back to before you had the theme. If you didn't make. A backup I think you could just factory reset the phone

The method of install would be helpful. Ie metamorph, zip flash, or adw/launcher theme.
Sent from my DROID2 using XDA App
@ skipwagner - i didnt do a backup(i know, way to go noob). i did a factory reset and the theme was still on it.
@zibrah3ed - Installation
1. Download file and place on the root of your SD card.
2. Use Koush's Bootstrapper to reboot into recovery.
3. Install .zip from sdcard, choose zip from sdcard.
4. Install Kangerade Blue Theme.
5. Enjoy!
it was the Kangerade Blue for the Droid2
You will have to SBF it back to original
Thanks to everyone who made a post to help me out. @MNDuke - I will definitely try that next.
I would backup your data with titanium backup, after that flash the rom you are on back without wiping data or cache. That should get you back to stock. Think sbf flashing it is a bit over the top, but may be needed.

i assume you mean ClockWorkMod recovery.....
Root the phone...Download ROM Manager....open the app and flash ClockworkMod Recovery...reboot into recovery...if it takes you to the stock 2e recovery...hit re-install packages and it should take u to CWM recovery

which rom? i'm assuming you're using an ODIN'd 2.2 rom, and if so, you need to use SuperOneClick to get root, then mount system as rewriteable, and then push untermensch's modded 3e recovery so that you can use CWM with a 2.2 rom.
OR
You can dl one of the voodoo kernels, making sure you have the required voodoo disable key file on your sdcard, and flash the voodoo kernel using ODIN. (which is WAY easier in my opinion)

SBF vs Nandroid vs madderstcok vs ?

What is the best/easiest method to return to out of the box stock and how do you do it?
-I've never used sbf.
-I have a nandroid backup of stock ota 2.2.1 but reverting back to it still leaves somethings like the liberty text when first booting up.
-To my understanding madderstock is a .zip file that you just flash the same a rom. Is that correct?
-Is there something better/easier?
Thanks

just use the sbf
it takes a bit longer than flashing a .zip file but its better imo
Sbf is the only way to get to pure stock imo its super easy check out my video tutorial

SBF is generally the most "100%" way to get completely back to stock... However if you are more comfortable flashing a zip file, then maderstcok is the way to go... Does the same thing as the 2.3.340 system only sbf.

If flashing the .zip does the same thing as the sbf why is the sbf better, or the only thing that is 100%. What is the difference?

It kind depends on the situation that you are in. If you have only messed up the /system portion of the phone, then flashing the zip is easier for those who aren't super android savvy. You just run the zip file, and when it finishes, it achieves the same result as the sbf, but that is only for the /system portion of the phone.
The reason I say the SBF is the best way to "100%" redo your phone is the sbf is an official moto file. If you download the latest full sbf, it completely wipes your current phone image and then loads the default image on the phone, leaving no remains of you phone prior to the sbf.
That make a little more sense?
Ya that's great, thanks. And thanks for the video Owenbeals.

maderstcok does more them just the system folder, it just doesn't do it the same way as SBF does (from the devs that made it: This is the FULL, OTA 2.3.340 - contains radio, kernel, and all other updates, even those EXCLUDED by the 2.3.340 system only sbf.).
If you can reboot into bootstrap recovery maderstcok is fine, if not the SBF may still be able to fix your phone. Just remember if you flash maderstcok or sbf you still have to reboot into recovery and wipe your phone for it to be bootable again.
for more info on the maderstcok:
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-x-rooted-help/112152-maderstcok-ota-2-3-340-update-zip.html
Still up to you which you use but either should get it done the say way.
PS: Its a good idea to have maderstcok, z4root, the SBF, and RDS lite on your SD card incase your phone gets messed up and your not at your primary pc.
Instructions:
Using the Droid X Bootstrapper make a backup. (more information here)
Browse (using volume buttons) to "install zip from sdcard" and select it with the camera button.
Select "choose zip from sdcard".
Select "maderstcok340.zip"
Confirm the install.
Be patient, wait for the install to finish.
Reboot the Droid X. DO NOTHING ELSE IN CLOCKWORKMOD!!!!!!!
Activate the phone with VZW (more instructions below).
If you attempt to create a backup or flash a rom post maderstcok installation you're going to have a paperweight. This seems to be because maderstcok removes root and the clockworkmod recovery area, so it doesn't like you playing around in there. Re-root and reinstall the bootstrapper, then create a backup or flash a new rom, DON'T DO IT BEFORE REBOOTING THE DX AFTER ISNTALL.
Formatting Data and Cache is optional; however, if you want a really clean install do so. If you factory reset you'll be forced to activate the phone automatically while if you don't you'll have to follow the quick and dirty activation instructions below - the choice is ultimately yours.
EDIT: coming from ANY non-blur based ROM and doing Maderstcok is guaranteed to bootloop due to mismatch in framework without a data/cache wipe
__________________________________ These are the instructions for the maderstcok. In the second to last paragraph it says that if you want a really clean install you should format data and cache. When is this step performed? The last step in the list of instructions after flashing the .zip is to reboot NOT DOING ANYTHING ELSE IN CLOCKWORKMOD. So before I reboot should i wipe data and cache or do I need to re-root, run bootstrap recovery, and then wipe data and cache?

On Gingerbread: I ran into a similar issue. In order for it to boot into bootstrap recovery for me I had to install Droid 2 Bootstrap recovery and bootstrap with that one for it to boot properly. I had issues with Clockworks recovery from Clockword mod and Droid X bootstrapper. Try Droid 2 Bootstrapper and let us know if that works.
I'm not sure what you're using to make a backup but here's a way that should work for you. Using Droid x bootstrapper, click bootstrap recovery and then click reboot recovery. If you're on the GB leak disable USB debugging and it will work. Then when in CWM, use the up/down volume keys to navigate to backup and restore, and press the camera button to select it. If you need to go back you can press the power button or back key. After selecting backup and restore, select the first option and it will backup everything on your phone. It will take about five minutes or more, just be patient. When its done you can flash a rom or reboot
I am on the regular Verizon rom with the latest update. The phone wont boot into the recovery either through bootstrap or clockwork GUI.

You can only make a backup by getting into cwm. It sounds like you are still getting into stock recovery. Follow the instructions by jmoney above and you should be good. There is a way to boot into cwm from a powered off state. Just search the forums if you feel like going that route.

8.After mobile booted copy the Gapps zip and cm7 stable or nightly zip file to root of your SD card.

12. Reboot. Go to app drawer and start up the defy baseband switcher. select the appropriate baseband to achieve optimal reception.
*Can do a CWM backup here [(Backup and restore -> Backup) NOTE: When restoring backup you must first flash a stock from (2.2/2.1 if the back up was done on either, and 2.3 if it was done on 2.3) as it doesnt backup the kernel]
To upgrade to nightly or from rc1 to rc1.5:
1. Download update and copy to sd
2. Go to bood menu -> recovery -> Custom recovery -> wipe cache and dalvik cache (in advanced) Install zip file from sd card(select the zip file you copied to sd card) thats it.
